First Taste Chinese Restaurant, Inverness FL

The shrimp chow Mein was like water. No flavor. Pork Fried Rice again not flavor and had green peas added, first time ever seen peas added.

First time trying this local place out, pretty impressed. There are only two good places in Inverness area supposedly, this being one of them. Didn’t disappoint. I would give them an 8/10. I have had better, but also have had very worse.

Got some basic items to try this time. Will have to explore the menu out a bit more next time. Food tasted like good quality takeout, the employees were prompt and polite.

Placed my order online, they called me when I arrived in the parking lot just as the time-estimate for pickup was—so they made the order in great timing, no false guess-timate or waiting around.

Prices were very fair, food was pretty good, I think I just need to try a couple more items for me to really be sold on this place.

The Szechuan beef was the best thing ordered, veggies mixed in were great texture-wise and the sauce was AMAZING. I will have to try the chicken version of it next time.

Only suggestion for the restaurant would be for the chicken fried rice to have the veggies tossed or cooked with the rice/chicken longer so they absorb the flavor. The chicken and rice tasted like boiled chicken, topped with cooked peas/carrots. Still pretty good though.

Consistency of the lo mein was very good. The flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe a slight peanut-taste? Not bothered, just couldn’t figure it out.

The egg roll and the spring rolls I got were fine. Good textures and flavors as anticipated. Always good choices as apps.

Will come back again, wonderful service. Excited to explore the menu. Thank you First Taste for the great experience!

We love this Chinese take out place. Food is always fresh, tastes good, and they are friendly. We have never had bad food from here and have been ordering for over a year.

I never leave reviews but me and my boyfriend got the chicken lo mein, egg rolls and dumplings.it was absolutely disgusting and just did not taste good.we are not the type to just throw out and waste food but we did, it wasn’t worth saving. I also feel very sick from it.dumplings were OK

I ordered the C11 chicken and garlic sauce first off the sauce had absolutely zero flavor looked like water in bottom of dish. My girlfriend ordered the C14 sesame chicken meal which didn’t have any sesame seeds on it no flavor and chicken was rubbery.very disappointed! Will never waste money on this place again. First taste huh will definitely be my last taste.

I love their food! Shrimp fried rice. Sweet and sour chicken, Crab Rangoon and wonton soup that I ordered today. All was perfectly delicious! I also think their prices are average but you get a lot. What purchased today fed 4 adults for $35. Of course it all depends on what and how much you buy, but for price, quality and quantity this place is my favorite in Inverness AND all of Citrus County

I absolutely LOVE first taste, they always make sure I have everything I requested. The owner lady is the sweetest person ive ever met, she makes me feel so welcome. I always get the orange chicken and fried rice whether its the lunch special, or the combo meal and I NEVER have a complaint. The pork fried rice has so much flavor and the orange chicken sauce is so tasty. Everytime I want chinese food, i believe I just want first taste and that's where I will go. They have a large assortment of canned soda for only a dollar and bottle drinks as well, the proportions are also perfect.

Take out only, best to call ahead so as to not wait for 15 to 20 mins. Most the food was really tasty. I loved the Vegetable Lo Mein, which wasn't dry and had lots of veggies because I paid an extra $1 to add more- I just wasn't expecting the whole small mushrooms to be in it. Veggie Egg Fu Young was 3 large egg patties, enough food for three people, and also had small whole mushrooms which I picked out.

The honey garlic chicken was so/so - not a lot of garlic flavor up front. Rice was tasty. We ended up getting more than we could eat and it made 2 meals for 2 people.

Orange Chicken combination with pork fried rice.
Again tastless flavor dry I tried but actually spit out.
Pork fried rice just like instant, bland.
BBQ spare ribs NOPE
All in all would NOT recommend.
They've been around for a very long time and I'm surprised they're still around.
