Campground Fisheating Creek reviews
17The campground is well kept and the staff is friendly and helpful. The park rangers/security (or as some call them Rent a Cop) do a great job attempting to enforce the rules of the park. Campers that do not follow the rules are quick to complain about the staff, however they are doing the job they are paid to do. This is a great place to camp or come for a day trip to enjoy the beautiful park and amenities. Follow the rules and you will definitely enjoy your stay here.
If you fish, canoe, kayak it's great, if you don't, you may be pressed for activity. All the staff members were extremely friendly and accommodating
This campground has great sites for RVs and great canopy for tent camping. There is a nice walking trail on a raised deck to a lookout, canoeing and kayaking in the river and a lake you can swim in.
First time coming to Fisheating Creek Campground after my neighbor recommend it. We had a great time. Perfect for families with children. My kids were able to ride their bikes and scooters while we watched without any worries. Thankful for this weekend to reset in my beautiful state.
This is an amazing campground! Lots of fishing, beautiful trees and nature, huge and lakes you can swim in. I highly recommend it
A quiet little escape. Will definitely come back for a longer stay and try to utilize more of what is available. Nice nature boardwalk and a swimming pond.
Fisheating Creek is our goto spot for our annual family camping trip. You can be as active as you want to be or just relax in the natural beauty of the outpost.
We stayed in the cabin and it was worth every penny. Quiet and beautiful area with a well stocked store just in case you forget something. The scenery, trails and adventures are top knotch!
I hadn’t been to the Camp ground in over 10 years, when we pulled in I was pleasantly surprised. The park had really been spruced up and offered Oak canopy camp sites which were all paved and level. The lake was a nice place to cool off and there were really cool places to ride bikes. There is also a raised boardwalk through the swamp area (very cool) it leads to walking paths.
First off they didn’t kick us out because of Hurricane Nicole! Thank you very much. Great place and nice people. If you come here bring some ant spray, there are fire ants everywhere. I had four nest around my campsite. One big one on the powered pole you connect to, then three more along the edges of the cement pad. Also one of the ones along the pad is right where you stand to get your septic hoses out of the back of the trailer. I would you check the site immediately upon arrival and start calling the front office.
The shuttle trip was simple and organized well. The weather was good in late November so that was convenient. It took us (2 parents/2 teen boys) 3 to 3.5 hrs. So we knew but it was a long time to paddle. We did get separated which was fine with 2 kayaks and one canoe. Food and water break is a good plan. Lots of gators were exciting to see. Make sure phone is charged and in watertight case. The beauty is like nowhere else. Little kids may not last well.because of the length. I was done too.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The canoes and kayaks are in good shape and the life jackets are practically new. The creek is beyond beautiful. I lost track of how many gators we saw. It was an absolute amazing trip. Words can’t describe it. I will definitely paddle here again.
They have a brand new handicap boat ramp It's really a great experience drive around and look at the hammocks in the canopy oak tree's really old Florida
My favorite place to be. I could live here. So many memories made here. I've been going here since I was a little kid and I still go with my friends and family, 30 years later! I love fish eating creek!
I stayed here about a year ago and LOVED IT! My work needed me in the area for a week so I took advantage of the campground. Unfortunately I arrived after dark. An after hours member was nice enough to let me in and showed me to my location. 2 Coworkers staying with me, we had a GREAT TIME. Leaving at 8AM getting back around 6 it was always dark. This place is BEAUTIFUL but never got to see it in the daylight until day 5. I went out to enjoy the scenery when their Rent-A-Cop on a golf cart ruined my day. It went from a casual inquiry about where my wrist band was (the after hours guy never mentioned I had to wear a wrist band). She began to insist that I go check in. I explained I was leaving in the morning, I've been here 5 days with no wrist band and never got to see the park in the daylight so I don't want to spend the only 30 minutes of my last day with daylight standing in line to register. She stated that I should have known to check in even though a staff member let me in? I explained my work hours and Their office opens at 9 and closes at 5 so even if I knew, my work hours would have made it impossible. She basically gave me an irritated pass to "Go do your thing Sir". 20 minutes later she see's me at my RV and made it a point to ruin the rest of my visit by "Thanking me for making her job harder" and eventually told me it's only "Common Decency" to check in. I'm not saying I won't give the campground another visit but I wish they would teach basic people skills to staff in an authoritative position.
Rent a kayak, take a walk, in a peaceful bit of undeveloped Florida. Lovely staff and a nice little souvenir and camp store. Clear your mind, ease your soul.
