Dalton is an incredible instructor, lots of hands on learning with him, and an amazing teacher. I recommend coming here if you want to learn HVAC.

I've been there for all my hair styles. Love this place. They have to learn somewhere and no complaints from me!

Florida Academy is a great school! Dalton as my instructor has helped a lot. Hands on work, lab time, etc. He always made sure we would understand anything that we worked on.

EXCELLENT HVAC PROGRAM!

Before I started the HVAC program here, I had a friend of mine who was a student a few years back criticized the program extensively, the biggest complaint being hardly any lab time, if at all.

This simply isn’t the case with Dalton, man’s a stud for sure. Not only is he explaining the theory and science thoroughly but he’s allowed us more hands on training in the lab giving us practical problems to solve in the field.

Dalton isn’t just a “teacher” here to talk you to sleep, he’s the kind of teacher who won’t rest till you understand the lesson, offering 1 on 1 help during break, and teaching his students how the business operates so we don’t get blind sided by shady contractors and so we know how to make a living in this field!

If you’re looking for the path to success, Dalton will guide you there!

Dalton and Danny have kept the HVAC program structured. Both have done an excellent job keeping the whole class involved and making sure every student is on the same page.

Started off with a instructor named Danny which is awesome. Taught the class which we didn’t have any knowledge about hvac/r and dumbed it down for us to understand without asking to many question. Then we got a teacher named Dalton which refreshed us up and taught us much more about hvac/r and what they actually do in the field. Def recommend coming here they do actually help you not like other comments that are made.

This school is amazing! We get plenty of hands on experience and the class time is extremely productive. The school just hired a new instructor and he’s absolutely amazing at his job he teaches you everything you need to know and more to be an above average HVAC tech!

VETERANS!
Avoid this place like the plague. This is the exact type of place you hear about that is a complete rip-off for your G. I. Bill.

-Their recruiter stops communicating with you once they have your signature
-The instructor that worked at the factory prior to "teaching" is homophobic. The way he teaches is by reading out loud every word in the book. Also, he loves belittling people that asks questions.
-The hotel they put you in does have lovely entertainment nightly. Around 9 pm each night you will either hear gun shots in the parking lot.
-You sacrifice SIX MONTHS of your GI Bill for ONE month of learning.
-If you want to go down the path of HVAC, intern at a local shop for a month and save your GI Bill for a place that at least cares about their students.

I was very interested in this school but the person who answered the phone was very rude, I asked her if she could transfer me with someone who spoke Spanish and her answer sounded very racist, I don't understand how they can have people like these working with the public, It is unacceptable

Very bad experience with this place. I called interested in doing a course and the receptionist who attended me did not want to speak in Spanish when they speak Spanish there, she did not want to help me find a person to attend me. I hope they can resolve the situation and help the people who They are interested

Great first two weeks in the HVAC program. Have learned so much from Danny so far. Tonight we worked hands on with the trainer learning how to read the vital signs of how to diagnose the problem

I have a relative currently attending the evening HVAC course and it sounds like the students care more than the teachers do about learning. There has been numerous times he will text me, “well another night of not having anything to do in class. ” Sending pics of the guys on their laptops playing games and drawing because they are not being taught the trade their there to learn. Occasionally some online course work to do but barely any hands on training. This isn’t an “online” course. He isn’t driving an hour to get to this school for hands on training to learn a new trade and be successful in life just to get there and not get what he’s paying for. He has also told me they don’t get lab time because the school doesn’t want to spend $ on supplies like copper and gas. One of the teachers was yelled at for letting them braze. The students pay for supplies thru their tuition. He’s even told me the guys will watch a YouTube video from another HVAC school and another instructor on how to do something when they have 10 units to practice on. Also, the students are required to stay in class even without an instructor present? Multiple guys in the class are complaining to each other about the class but nobody wants to speak up and say why aren’t we learning hands on training? My relative doesn’t even want to go to school at this point because he is beyond frustrated. He wants to be successful and start a new career and after several months of being there now, he said he does not feel anywhere near confident to go out and get a job in the HVAC field and doesn’t feel like after another several months of school, he still won’t have that confidence he thought he would by attending this school. Very disappointed in this school. I’m leaving this review because I feel bad he’s paying all this $ for schooling and not getting what he should from it.

NOTHING CHANGES EVEN WITH POOR REVIEWS. Last week an office staff member is SCREAMING, THREATENING AND CLAPPING HER HANDS IN A STUDENTS FACE AND SHE STILL HAS HER JOB. This school is money hungry and does not care about the students learning. Horrible. Just Horrible. I ask my relative, "so you're about to graduate, are you ready to go out and get a job? Do you feel like you know everything you need to, to go out and confidently work in the HVAC field? " and his reply was "No, not at all. " There was so little actual hands on training and mostly just book work. Please anyone who is reading this, look for another school. Also, no I don't need to call and discuss these issues with the President. Go and talk to your students.
