Alejandro and his team did two projects for my home. I have a very large oak wood entertainment center in family room. It used to be majestic in it's time I am sure, but now it looked outdated.i didn't have the heart to take it down. So I had asked Alejandro to paint it in beautiful near white color of lacey pearl (SW). They did an impeccable job! The unit looks high end and brand new! They even Removed outdated embellishments on the wood, and replaced the cabinet with modern glass door and modern brass handles. It came out so good! Home decor projects these days are frustrating as is, and out project was not without unexpected delays, but another designer once told me, " what really matters is the final result. " And the final result is just exceptionally beautiful unit that we love. Thank you Alejandro and your team, for having the accountability, not cutting corners with the job, using high quality products and bringing our vision regarding the project to reality.
The second project involved replacing a giant cathedral ceiling chandelier, that no one else was willing to touch. He had to bring in specialized equipment to bring the light down and had to climb in the attic to get the large structure safely removed from ceiling. I was very scared just watching the whole exercise but the team delivered and actually removed that enormous piece of antique light without an incident and quite fast.
There is more to this story that touched my heart and reinforced my conviction to have decided to work with this team. When he was about to install the new light I purchased for he ceiling, I noticed the light was in fact of very poor quality and had dents. He had the whole scaffold ready to go and yet he agreed with me. He still finished painting the ceiling, so the defect would not be visible and he simply told me to call him once new light arrives. He picked up the scaffold and left without charging any additional fees for that day! I was so humbled and touched by this!

Home decor these days has been so frustrating. I have returned rugs and pieces of furniture bought at high end stores due to quality issues. None of my other orders have made it on time. So small bussiness like this may have hiccups too. Things might come up, workers may get sick, your material may not arrive on time. But, what you can count on is the amazing quality of work, affordability, human connection, professionalism and strive for excellence!

My solid wood furniture was damaged beyond repair during our move; at least I thought it was! Alex fixed every broken piece and even manufactured new pieces to make my dresser and nightstand stronger than before. Now I can’t even tell what parts were broken to begin with! I highly recommend Fornax. I had bought an antique Chinese altar table that had been abused - cigarette burns, large scratches.

Alex did a great job shortening the curved wood legs on my barstools to countertop height. He stained the wood to an exact match and he touched up all the nicks and scratches on the legs. The barstools look great. When I went to pick them up they were wrapped like they were from the store.

I just had a coffee table refinished that was in my family since 1958 so it meant a lot to me. I trusted Alex after talking to him and having him explain what he would do and he did a fantastic job. The table looks better than I remember it looking as I was growing up. When he came to drop off the table I had him take another one, and one by one I’ll get all the repairs done that I’ve been needing to do for years. The next job will be to reinforce the legs on 11 dining chairs from the 1800s. Alex explained how he would fix them and it made a lot of sense, as compared to other people I spoke to that really had no idea how to fix them. It’s clear that he knows what he’s doing and is passionate about furniture. I appreciate that he came to my house to give me a quote, then to show me the stain on the furniture before the job was done, and then to deliver the completed piece, all within a few days. So I give him five stars for customer service and five stars for doing an excellent job on the furniture.

Besides being professional and extremely knowledgeable, Alex is truly an artist and a perfectionist in his field. We live in a century home and he restored our counter tops to look like the original state without having to replace it.
