Wonderful welcoming Catholic church in downtown Miami. Offers daily mass and regular sacraments to bilingual congregation.

A beautiful historical work of art. The Jesuits celebrate Mass and show with their actions that ALL are welcome in God's house. Take a breather and sit in this holy house. There is Peace. Blessings. It is a place to simply Be. With the One who made and Loves you. Immensely.

During the several years I lived in downtown Miami, Gesu was an oasis where I could decompress from modernity. One of the VERY few older churches within South Florida that was not wrecked inside and out post-Vatican II. There is a historical legacy here that should be preserved. The high altar, the frescos, the crucifix in the back of the church, etc.all communicate one is in a sacred space, something that seems lost in most other parishes within the Archdiocese. Gesu will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. May she live on for another hundred years!

I'm giving three stars because I could never give a house of god anything lower out of respect for our lord. As someone who was raised Catholic and attended mass all my life this church ranks incredibly low out of the catholic churches I've visited. I showed up early for confession. The priest was 20 minutes late to start the sacrament. When it was my turn to receive confession the priest TURNED ME AWAY. He claimed he didn't have time and he had to get ready for mass. The mass was incredibly divisive. They asked us to pray for some very controversial things such as Ukraine and gun violence. Yes, we should pray for Ukraine but I would appreciate if we should some respect to the young men on the other side who are involuntarily sent to die. No comments were made about actual catholic morals that we are fighting with in our society such as abortion. At the end of mass a priest came out and told us never to look into how they are spending their money, odd.

Went to early Mass today. Ash Wednesday. This particular Mass at 8: 15am was bilingual. There are other times in English or Spanish. Not crowded but quite a few people. It is a beautiful church in Downtown Miami. Close to Metromover station on 1st St and very close to Biscayne Blvd and Bayfront Park

Beautiful, historical, first catholic church in Miami's history. Definitely worth a visit. They have a mass everyday at Noon.

I love attending mass here. I'm not a baptized Catholic but I always feel welcome to attend the mid-day English mass on Sundays. The art is spectacular and I love celebrating mass here as people have for over a century!

The oldest church in Downtown Miami. Gesu Catholic Church. I met Mother Teresa there behind the building. They had her staying inside an old garden shed 10x10 with her nuns. I asked for her having read in the newspaper she was in town and there. A priest directed me to the back of the building. Sure enough, she was there.

The house of Gesu is so beautiful I felt in? Love w it. I hope you love it too. God bless you all n remember to be safe please.

Beautiful church and friendly people. The children's choir was very impressive in the quality and professionalism. I was there for mother's day and the sermon was heartwarming.
