Goodwill Thrift Store - Gainesville South reviews
31No problems with the staff as far as I've had at this particular store, however the prices for junk or small kitchen appliances is ridiculous! Many well-used crock pots for 30$? ! Might as well go buy them brand new at that price! Many other cooking appliances priced similarly. When I use to shop at goodwill I was expecting a bargain price for them to get rid of items, not at the price above what they are actually worth. Its not a wonder why their appliance shelf is filled to the brim every time we go there, someone is not pricing these things with intention of selling them fast. Besides the appliances, pure junk has gone up in price as well; tell me who in their right mind would pay 8$ for a small desk decorative wooden plank with writing on it? Similar prices for things of little to no value like this.
Hank was literally the absolute worst “store manager” I have ever witnessed. He was rude to not only me but to the employees as well. I went in to look for a few things but the way he acted infuriated me so I just left without the items I was going to purchase. Was very condescending and mouthy. Someone in HR needs to take care of this issue immediately.
Going to these places is like going on a treasure hunt, there usually always something there that you gotta have
Overall, I do not care for this location, poor selection dirty …. However, I had the pleasure of being checked out by Tiffany this time. She was fast, thorough and had a smile on her face. She knew her job and was great with all of the customers. You guys better give this one a raise and treat her right because someone else is going to come along and make her a better offer. She ROCKS!
This is the worst Goodwill in all of America without a doubt. The number one issue is the attitude of the Employees, very Rude and confrontational with Customers. They are quick to confront customers that are just browsing through donated items for sell without any justification. I’ve shopped over the years at Goodwill from Coast to Coast and without a doubt this is the worst Goodwill in the Nation. Don’t waste your time shopping at this location.
So I’m a pretty devoted thrifter, and I used to shop goodwill frequently, but after my visit on June 6th, I’m done with the 34th street Goodwill.
Why? Because virtually no-one was wearing a mask! Sign on the door said it was required, but the staff said they were NOT allowed to enforce it!
Like it’s not bad enough that the clerks work for terrible wages, but now they have to risk getting Covid!
Shame on you, Goodwill.
This Goodwill is much dirtier than the one across town. I was there yesterday and I left in disgust when I saw dried bodily fluids caked on the mirror in the dressing room. Seriously. This was in addition to all the dirt and grime already present in the dressing room. I love thrift shopping, but that is WAY too gross for me. Clean your dressing rooms, guys.
Had a really bad interaction earlier while donating.from my years in gainesville most of the employees at this store aren’t very friendly. I get it, retail sucks, but you’re at work there’s no reason to be rude to people who haven’t been rude to you. Will continue to go to the other Goodwill in town, it’s way better.
We had to wait in line for 10 minutes. During that time there was only one cashier despite 3 other associates having to come help her. When we finally got to the register, the associate refused to give us any discount even when we were $0.68 short on a $34 purchase. Absolutely terrible customer service.
It's clothes selection is pretty good. You will be hard pressed to find anything above an extra large. But they have a good game selection books are okay the Ceramics and house wares looks like the 80s came in and died. But if you're a crafter you can find a treasure; If you willing to dig through a lot of junk.
90% of items horribly overpriced. Many clothes marked more than they are sold at sale prices from the original store. Useless.
They do their very best. We had many happy workers chat with us today. They are trying to keep it as neat and orderly as possible. We appreciate thwm very much!
Stop in to get shirts for work because I am always staining my work shirts good deals. If you have the time to look you can find great deals
I was a 20 year customer there. I will never go back. They don't value loyal customers. Take your garbage and shove it up your Ass
I don't know. I didn't get to see it. It doesn't open until 10 AM which I was amazed by. Most stores that retail open at 8, or 9.10 is like wow. I couldn't stick around for 2 hours while passing through town to wait for it to open. Maybe some day I'll pass through middle afternoon and then they'll be open. Lol I drop an average of $60 per visit. That is a $60 loss before they even opened today. Tisk, tisk.
Ok for a Goodwill, save that the clothes are sorted by color, not size. Being a larger sized person, I gave up looking.
Awesome goodwill, the quality of the clothes is very noce and we find very useful and well maintained household goods here too
Easily one of the worst Goodwill. Not sure what's up with the very overpriced "new" items. I buy some housewares and some clothes but there's mostly junk on the shelves. The clothes are so tightly packed that you can't look through them. The dressing rooms are nasty to the point I started gagging when I entered one. The one right near the employee door doesn't lock and no one knocks so someone walked in on me changing. Couches sold here can sell of wet dog and look like it was in a dumpster first. I avoid this place and shop at the somewhat better thrift stores in Gainesville. Not to mention the CEO is loaded with money and staff lost bonuses years ago.
Not the best Goodwill I've ever been in. Their book selection was pitiful. The clothes were organized by color, not by size. That makes it very difficult to find. Well, anything. I didn't like that at all.
Do better Goodwill. Organize your stuff so your shoppers can actually find stuff.
We luv Gville Goodwill. WE VISIT EVERY MON. ESPECIALLY LUV ALL BABY CLOTHES, UP TO 3T, $1.49. LUV IT
