Grampa's Cafe Bagels Bakery & Deli, Dania Beach FL

Breakfast is always delightful! Anytime I fly down in the mornings, I visit this place for breakfast. The service is awesome from the waitress, bakery, food server, etc. They're all great! I had the avocado toast with Nova, and it's always fresh. The cake they bring to the table is moist and yummy.

It pains me to write this review because I actually like this place and the food. However, I have noticed that the level of service has deteriorated to the point where I am considering never coming here again. During my second to last visit, everything went fine until it came time to pay the bill. The waitress up and disappeared. After waiting more than 15 minutes with the receipt and card in hand, I walked up to the hostess stand and explained I had been waiting more than 15 minutes to pay the bill. It was only then that a manager took care of the bill.

Today, I visited with my wife and 2 young children. The service was not family friendly whatsoever. Happy kids equals happy parents. Management does not seem to understand this. Or does not care. Family friendly restaurants know to take care of the young kids fast. After about 10 minutes of being seated, we had no water or coffee. It wasn’t even offered. We brought this to the hostess’ attention. She was very nice and polite. She hunted down the waiter and explained we had not been tended to. I clearly heard this male waiter with black hair rudely and abrasively tell the hostess “tell those people they’re going to have to wait a second! ” I felt bad for the hostess. She then came back to our table and we asked her to take our order since the waiter was rude and nasty. She informed us that she couldn’t take our order as she was just the hostess. At that point, we decided to up and leave as it was apparent we were going to get horrible service.

As I informed the hostess on our way out: we’re locals, not tourists. And, when you can’t treat the locals right, business will suffer.

First time going to Grandpas and I chose to go on a Sunday at 10am. I expected it to be unbelievably busy but I happened to hit what they would call a slow time and boy did I get lucky to easily park and go straight to a table. Within 15 mins there was now a wait for a table. Our server was a friendly guy he took good care of us. I had the LEO, my wife the farmers, and my son the New York. All was very good on par with my favorite places. The potato home fries were very well seasoned and yummy. Now on to the reason i went… the bagels. Id rate the egg et as a 9/10 the flavor was excellent, the entire bagel had seasonings covering it, the chewiness, pull, texture was perfect. The only reason it failed to get a 10 was it needed more onion and garlic on it. I totally forgot to buy bagels for my freezer and im mad at myself for it because these bagels were great. I cant wait to go again and try lunch.

Our waitress Dina was professional, kind & knowledgeable. The Trio Platter was delicious and I really liked their Ice Coffee. Was a cute little spot to go have Sunday breakfast with my boyfriend

Excellent food, great service. Stopped in for lunch and it was fast and delicious. Will definitely be back!

Amazing bagels. Coffee sucks. Grits inedible. Stick with bagels folks, they are scrumptious!

I was there yesterday with my mom and the waitress that was hosting, she didn’t even greet us. She grabbed the menus and we just automatically thought we needed to follow her. She didn’t even tell us to follow her and when she said us on our table, she didn’t even say enjoy your meal. Your waitress will be over soon. She didn’t say a word to us. She was very rude. I don’t know her name but she’s a young American girl and she was training a gentleman. We love their food and their bagels, but with a waiter or waitress that’s rude you almost wants to never want to come back.

Great place to grab a quick breakfast before catching a flight at the airport coming from the South.

DISCLAIMER: I am traveling from SC to get on a cruise ship from Fort Lauderdale, nearby. I stayed at the hotel next door before deciding to go here for breakfast. I went with friends and family.
FOOD: Most of us ordered the half-stack of pancakes with a side of bacon (see photo). Our friend got the Philly cheesesteak. I can say that the quality of the food is definitely what kept this review at a 5, and nothing less. The food was absolutely amazing and I will be returning to grab a bagel or two. The lemonade looked fresh squeezed (not a chemical yellow, but rather a cloudy clear-white of fresh lemonade). The price was a bit higher for my preferences, but the food held up to the quality expected from price.
SERVICE: Sam was our waiter. He was wonderful and incredibly friendly. The food came out quicker than expected, for how busy they were.

I recently ate here for the first time and I am so glad that I did! I had the pleasure of sitting with Ashley. She knew all about the menu and recommended some things. I am indecisive so her suggestions were so welcoming! She was such a genuine and upbeat person that not only was the food delicious, but so was my experience! I will be back! Thank you for the food AND service!

Their options for either a quick grab at their deli options or deserts are worth the visit to this unique deli. The bread if fresh on order with your meals or to take home.

I asked if the corned beef hash with eggs was made in house and assured that it would be. It ended up coming from a can and not good quality. The server was annoyed that I asked.

First time trying this cafe out, was really awesome food! Bagels fresh, will be coming back again from TX when we stay for vacay!

It’s been a while since I’ve been at Gramps! It has always been a great stop for breakfast before heading to the airport (FLL). The renovation looks great and the front bakery section is more organized. Our breakfast was delicious and service was spot on!
