Grand Slam Fishing Charters, Key Largo FL

Got to spend two days with Captain Josh this week and to say it was epic would be an understatement. Day one gave us not one, but TWO Swordfish! We landed the first one before noon and got another one on the next drop, about 10 minutes in. Unreal. Day two was pretty windy, so we stayed closer in and made a nice haul for dinner. Listening to Josh was awesome, I learned a ton - the guy knows so much about fishing and the Keys - He knew exactly where to put us and made the trip down one of the coolest things I have ever done. Great boat captain, great fisherman, great dude. Cannot wait to get back down there to do it again!

4th year with Cap’n Josh and wouldn’t even consider another charter. This man knows the water! Most recent trip was in mid January 2024 and went out for Swordfish - caught 2 @ 225lb each!

I had the greatest of times on our 10 hour swordfish charter! It may have been the dolphins or the purple vibes, but I think it was a captain that was spot on. What a awesome experience!

Josh was fantastic. He accommodated a last minute trip for myself and two kids (13,15). We caught 12 different species of fish and had an incredible day on the water. I could not recommend this experience higher.

I was looking for a fishing charter for me and my 13yo son. It can be a little overwhelming looking for a good charter with so many options out here. I feel very lucky that I found Captain Josh! I put in a few requests for information with other charters and Josh responded right away to gather some information about what kind of experience we were look for. I explained that we were from Nebraska and wanted to hook into something big and have a fight. Captain’s response: “I got you! ”

Now to the good stuff! We booked a 6 hr charter and he took us out to a ship wreck where we banged a mess of Amberjack. It was an amazing experience. I have never fought something so big before. It was a great fight! Not only were we fighting the Jack, we were also fighting the barracuda and bull sharks. It was the most exciting fishing experiences of my life! My son was in heaven. Then we moved on and limited out on Yellow Tail Snapper. We couldn’t keep our lines in the water without a fish on. It was insane.

Captain Josh was very knowledgeable of the waters and area. He was very good to explain the why’s and made my son and I much smarter about the fish and the different equipment. His boat is clean and he works very hard to keep it that way.

Captain cleaned all our fish and packed them up for us and we had fantastic meal that night.

If you can get in with Captain Josh you should do it but he fills up fast so do it as soon as you can.

10hr swordfishing trip 10-18-22
Me and the wife went out with Capt josh and within 1hr 45mins leaving the dock we had a swordfish in the boat then hooked up on another sword in about another hour but pulled the hook them things slowed till we found some mahi. Capt josh explains everything about the trip from how to set up for the drift to putting the fish in the boat. Highly recommend Capt josh.
