Grassy Flats Resort & Beach Club

We absolutely loved our stay at Grassy Flats! It has everything I look for when booking a hotel. Smaller hotel, super delicious restaurant and a bar that can actually make cocktails. Two beautiful pools with a Stellar view of the water. Unfortunately, it was stormy before we arrived and the beach was under construction. The staff is super friendly and I love the two sections of rooms for kids and no kids. We left our toddler at home but I would definitely be back with our daughter.

They don’t advertise they have a phenomenal restaurant though, that was a super pleasant surprise when checking in. The Rhum house was super delicious and unique compared to all the other restaurants around.

If you’re looking for a locally owned, sustainable (they go through and sort their trash daily, make fertilizer out of the seaweed, no plastic) down to earth resort, this is it. We weren’t a huge fan of the keys, but I’d definitely come back to Grassy Flats.

Nice smaller place with lots of privacy. The lounge chairs by pools and beach are horrible and uncomfortable and falling apart. Staff was incredibly wonderful. All of them, no matter what their job is, are so nice and make you feel very welcome. No complaints there. The beach is not that great either.

This place is truly amazing! When we arrived we told the girl in the office that we had been given the wrong room - we had booked a 'regular' room (there really is no regular room here) and they put us in a gorgeous suite. She said that the owner had upgraded us to the suite because it was going to be vacant and he wanted someone to enjoy it. We saw him (Matt) several times during the week and it was obvious that he takes great pride in this little resort. ALL of the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is outstanding. Everything was super clean and up-to-date. We have stayed in many places in the Keys and by far this is our favorite. The mattress was so comfy that the hubby asked for info about it so we can purchase one for home. We come to the Keys at least once a year and will definitely be back to Grassy Flats!

I had a fantastic visit to Grassy Flats and a great dinner at Rhum House. The owner (Matt) has created a beautiful property with 2 pools, a pool bar, and a great restaurant. And it’s all ocean front.

I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful stay at Grassy Flats! The room had a great view of the ocean from our 3rd floor balcony. The food at the restaurant at Grassy Flats was incredible. We ate breakfast and dinner there twice as well as an afternoon bite at the Tiki lounge by the pool.

This place is wonderful. Great rooms, beautiful pools, sports club, multiple places to eat on site, really good food. Beautiful grounds. Staff are exceptional-very friendly, welcoming, make sure you have the best possible stay. Great central location in the Keys, lots of things to do close by.

Grassy Flats exceeded our expectations. The grounds are beautiful and are guaranteed to make you fall in love with this quaint island. The staff makes you feel like you’re the only one there, they are so personable and friendly. The food is incredible. Frank was the best bartender ever! We also loved the random cats roaming the property. Great location if you want to get out and explore the island but the resort is so accommodating you don’t even have to go anywhere if you don’t want to! Bonus: you get a free welcome drink once you arrive to the property. See photo for reference!

Beautiful resort with a super friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms, excellent food at both the restaurant and the bar. Can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I loved the small hotel experience, easy water access for water sports, and lush well kept grounds. We plan on coming back for another kiteboarding trip.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was good. Beach location was good for kiting and e-foiling. WiFi was substandard.

Older resort, but everything we needed in condo, could have had one more comfortable chair in living room, there were four of us and we had to use a kitchen chair.
There wasn't any beach, due to storms and low tide.
But beautiful view of sunrises and the grounds were very nice.
Definitely need a car as resort is on very busy road and nothing close to walk to.
Otherwise we were very comfortable and had a great time.

Grassy Flats is paradise in the Keys. The views are breathtaking, and staff is unbelievably welcoming and makes your comfort a priority. The best location that I’ve stayed in the Keys.

Stopped by the grassy flats resort for a drink and Brandon and Seth went above and beyond to make sure our experience was completely unique of anywhere else you can find in marathon. 10/10 will be back again. You can’t teach people how to talk to people.

The Rum house was spectacular, we ate there multiple times during our stay. All of the staff were very friendly. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The room we stayed in was the conch suite, it was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful view of the ocean. One of the best resorts I've ever stayed at and would be happy to do it again. The cute kitties that come and hang out with you are just another magical touch that made this resort so special.

The Grassy Flats Experience is amazing. Its the only place in the Keys that has activities for all conditions. Between the Lagoon and the hotel you have 4 menus of great food, shopping, fun for the whole family, and relaxation with great views. The staff is Professional, Polite, and Outgoing! What more could you ask for. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We had a warm welcome, including a tour of the hotel. The room was very large and had a perfect view over the sea. The bathroom was particularly large with a huge shower and two sinks. There was a large refrigerator. The only drawback was the street noise that you could hear both on the beach and in the room.
We would book the hotel again at any time.

Amazing hotel. I loved the design, the atmosphere, everything is well-thought. The view from the breakfast restaurant is breathtaking.
Wouldn’t consider the beach as a real one as it was muddy (low tide) but would 100% recommend and it didn’t stop us from going paddle boarding in the morning.

We had such a great time at Grassy Flats! I love to kiteboard and kite-foil and was amazed at the great flat water with only a few kites out. It is also quite shallow for a ways out making this a great freestyle location or place to learn. I was worried about being able to foil here, but a short walk out gets to plenty of depth for my 90cm mast so I also has some fantastic time foiling around. The people at the resort are super friendly and helpful.and I mean everyone! The pro shop, the bartenders, the front desk.all fantastic. The resort is also nicely located half way down the keys making it not a bad drive but once there also a good jumping off point for a day trip to key west. We also really enjoyed the nearby cable park on a no-wind day. This place is a hidden gem in a great location with amazing people and a very chill and relaxed vibe.
