Our waiter never came back to check on us after our food was delivered, never filled our drinks.we went there last year in August and the food was amazing, this time the pork was dry and had no flavor.love cuban food but I will find a new restaraunt.

The food is excellent! We started with the onion rings. We ordered the Papas Rellenas, but unfortunately they weren't available, so we stared with the onion rings. They were light and crispy with plenty of soft sweet onion. I ordered the Asado Oriente Region Style, and it came with black beans, rice and fried plantains. It was spectacular. Probably the best black beans I've ever had, and the pork was melt in my mouth delicious! My husband had a special, the blue cheese entree with chicken. This was a blue cheese sauce with garlic, onion, and capers. It was amazing. Every bite he took elicited a "yum.so good" out of him. The food was definitely authentic Cuban and fine dining (even though the atmosphere was laid-back and casual, which was spot on for Gulfportand a non-issue really), but unfortunately the service left us disappointed. There seemed to be plenty of staff, but our waitress was not personable and left us without beverage refills several times. She also seemed to disappear several times, and no one was attentive enough to assist her. Perhaps she was having a tough night? Overall the quality of the dishes saved the experience for us. If you haven't been to Havana Cafe, you are missing out.

The organization of the menu its scary (hard to understand), and most for most of the food its the same sides but on the other hand staff was incredibly nice and we had a great service. The food is worth its delicious and generous portions.

I feel bad for anyone that hasn't been here. I eat the habana Cubans religiously and habitually. I've always had the mojo Sammy which is an a tier all it's own as well. Do yourself a favor and stop by

Waited 45 minutes for a bowl of shrimp and the other dinner was just a sandwich which had someone's hair in it. Paid $30.00 for a few pieces of shrimp and the worst glass of wine. Our server came by one time and then for the check. Big disappointment.

Like the memorial of the original chef immortalized above the front desk, the restaurants performance has passed away with him. Unorganized, slow, hair in the food and many missed food items. An absolute shame because the food was delicious but a clear echo of the past excellence of the departed Chef. Would eat less tasty food with better service and will.

We had the lechon with fries, maduros, rice & black beans. We also ordered tostones. The lechon was very tasty but the the sides were all pretty bad. We ordered take out, which may be why the tostones and fries were soggy, but the maduros weren’t ripe enough and the rice & beans weren’t great. It was also pricey for what we ordered. I grew up eating Cuban food and this missed the mark. We will probably try it again for dine-in service to see if it was a to-go fluke.

Was accosted by 3 mormons in the parking lot and then went inside and the girl had an attitude and acted like I was a major inconvenience. I'm sorry, the restaurant was empty and whatever was on your phone was more important. I wish I could remember her name, young girl idk how old.

Service could have been much better although the food was GREAT. Our dark haired American server disappeared in the middle of our mea leaving drinks emptyl, forgot to bring several things a couple different times and didn't get our check right. (There were only 4 of us.) Definitely enjoyed the meal part of the visit and would recommend maybe take out next time.

Delicious as always. Their cuban sandwich, fried plaintains, black beans and rice are not to be missed. Add in friendly and excellent service and you having a winning combination. One of our all time favorite restaurants.

Coming from West Palm Beach / Fort Lauderdale / Miami area, I was hoping to find authentic Cuban food in our new hometown. We were glad to find Habana Cafe. Not a big restaurant, yet they have quality Cuban food at great prices. You can taste the love in their food from the warm Cuban bread to the Flan de Leche dessert. This is as good as any Cuban restaurant in Southeast Florida. Josefa, the owner is as gracious a hostess as you'll ever meet. Enjoy

We try to be very tolerant of challenges restaurants face during COVID, but the quality of this food was inexcusable. I ordered chicken primavera (chicken and sautéed vegetables covered in cheese sauce) and when it came out the "cheese sauce" was cold congealed cheese that was completely solid and caked onto the vegetables. It was very clear that it had been made some time well before we arrived (at 6pm last night, so usual dinner time), had sat around, and then thrown into a microwave to serve. Most of the chicken was lukewarm, other than the one piece in the middle which was very hot. When we spoke to the manager, she apologized and admitted that it was "probably sitting out on the counter for a long while" and she could tell it "didn't look right". And to her credit, she took it off the bill. But we won't be going back. The sad thing is that of the four meals we got, mine should have been the LONGEST in terms of preparation time (our son got chicken fingers, my wife and daughter both just got shrimp), so it should have been the least likely to "sit around" waiting for the rest of the meals. Very disappointing, and the fact that the manager wasn't even surprised is telling that this happens more than just to me. I'm including a photo of just how solid the "cheese sauce" was.

Absolutely horrible. My food was 24.00 and they brought it out on a cafeteria tray. Food was swimming in oil and loaded with way too much salt and the best part of my meal was the warm cuban bread. I won't be back. I was looking forward to eating there and was highly disappointed.

Just popped in as it was close by, and the atmosphere was authentic and inviting. Wonderful staff and tasty food. Don’t miss the summer dill entree. I wanted to drink the sauce! Love the local feel. Sorry about the photo. I had already started, but look at the portion. Definitely two meals. Dessert included.

Five stars, all the way.their red sangria is my favorite, as well as the sampler they offer - with a sampling of three of their popular dishes.the cuban bread is served warm, the salad is fresh with their house dressing, and the cream cheese flan is out of this world.one of my favorite spots in the area, love everything about the food and the staff.
