I was hesitant to spend the xtra $$ for fruit i could buy in the supermarket, but one bite of the Georgia peaches & Florida Mangoes made it all worthwhile! No comparison. The family loved them too. Were loyal customers now. Can wait for the Pears in Sept.

I purchased a 5 month gift subscription of different oranges for my Dad. He reported all oranges were delicious. The final delivery had 2 rotted oranges. I contacted Hale Groves and they immediately sent 6 new oranges. Great customer service! Highly recommend.

Extremely disappointed in all 8 months of fruit I have received. Often fruit was rotten or dry and flavorless. Grapefruit was decent at best. Good luck getting in contact with customer service to field your complaints. Not sure how there is a such a wide range of good and bad reviews. Some people lucky others not? Perhaps. My 8 months of expensive and questionable fruit seems like a large enough sample size to make the conclusion that this fruit isn't worth the box it was shipped in. Look elsewhere.

I ordered cherries a pound and a half thinking I would be getting the giant, sweet cherries my local supermarket had a few weeks but no longer has in stock.for $4.99 a pound. Hale's cherries were $39.99. I figured I'll treat myself. Last year I purchased their peaches which were delicious. These cherries look like someone went to Publix and picked out berries, and put them in a box.many are sour, not sweet, soft obviously not fresh and small in size. In other words this is a big RIP OFF. Stay away.never again will I order and pay these prices for produce I can get at a fraction of the price at my local market and just as crapy.

Yep, the poor rating by others is fully earned. I bought close to 100 Cara Cara oranges to share with my family and friends. They arrived well packed and gorgeous. However, they had zero flavor. They are very expensive. I emailed Hale Growers about my concerns and it's been two months with no response. They knowingly shipped a defective product so of course they won't correct the problem when it's pointed out to them. Their guarantee is a facade.

I have bought gifts for family and friends from Hale Groves for a few years, and I have always received messages from the gift recipients that the quality of the fruit and promptness of delivery have been very good. This year (December 2020-March 2021) was EXCEPTIONAL. I ordered much more than usual, especially for folks who could not make it to FL due to COVID/family issues/health. The weather in FL was cooler than usual, thus affecting crop quality and yield. The weather in New England where these gifts were delivered was extremely cold, snowy and icy. And shipment times fluctuated for a host of reasons. But none of that affected the deliveries from Hale! In a few instances, fruit arrived in less than "edible quality", but Hale went ABOVE and BEYOND to rectify every single situation - and Customer Service addressed my concerns in a most timely manner. Not only was I impressed and very pleased with the purchases, the gift recipients were delighted to have "a taste of Florida citrus in the dead of winter". My experience with Hale Groves, this winter in particular with so many obstacles in the way, was nothing short of STERLING! There is no doubt that I will continue to be a return customer AND encourage friends to order from Hale Groves.

I am extremely disappointed in this company and the fruit wasn’t even received as of yet. I am a new customer and ordered from the website for my order to arrive on 3/29-4/1. On March 29th, I got an email that said my gift will arrive late on Saturday, April 3rd. The recipient will not be there not to mention a 6 day delivery on a perishable item. It has been very stressful dealing with Customer Service when I asked for a refund. I can’t imagine how the product could be good from just this experience. They seem very unreasonable and don’t care about a bad review or putting the charge in dispute. This may be a matter for the BBB?

Honeybells arrived looking so nice, but they were SOUR, not sweet at all. I asked the gifter not to order them for me for next year. So disappointed.

My package was for a gift. I paid 64 dollars. They delivered it to the wrong address. The answer from Ann from costumer service was I had to pay 50% of the total again to be delivered to the correct address. DO NOT WASTE TOUR MONEY ON THIS. THEY STEALED MY MONEY

This was my first order with this company and instead of ordering from a bigger company like Harry and David I chose to support a smaller company. Never again. I ordered Honeybell oranges which cost over $45. I was sent something else. Not only did it not come on time I did not get even an email or a courtesy phone call stating I was getting a substitution. I called customer service they said it’s in writing that they can send you something else. Why would I look for that in writing? ! I expected to get what I ordered. I did not want a substitute. I wanted what I paid for. Then the customer service rep said I’d get a complete refund that day. Over a week later I received an email that I was getting $8.99 back and that I should have read the disclaimer about substitutions. This is extremely poor customer service and I will not be recommending this company to anyone.

I received oranges as a gift. It was late coming and so a replacement order was sent. I was so disappointed as how sour these orange were. I couldn’t eat them. I hope with a little sugar I can drink the juice. That’s what I did with them

Update: It has now been 2 weeks with no response. I will be contacting the BBB.

I was sent 2 boxes of the honeybells and the fruit had completely dried out. Driest most tasteless citrus I have ever had actually. I emailed them 4 days ago regarding it and not a word back. So much for their satisfaction guarantee. $150 of complete garbage fruit.

Very disappointing quality and service. I ordered a holiday gift box on 12/14 for my family in Seattle. I was hoping to send a little Florida sunshine there way. Unfortunately, only 3 of the 8 oranges looked edible, and they did not taste great. The cookies came entirely broken up in crumbles, up. I wrote Hale Groves customer service on 12/23/20 and to date I have still not recieved a reply (other than the automatic one stating "Due to an overwhelming increase in orders our response may take longer than normal. We do appreciate your patience. Your inquiry is very important to us and we will respond to you as quickly as possible. " It's been 6 weeks, and still no reply not even an apology. Needless to say, I will never order from Hale Groves again.

Last year bought the best oranges I ever had, this year the first box I ordered was the worst driest oranges I ever had even had rotten oranges in the box, talked to them on the phone and was told the weather was to warm and that's why they were poor quality, they sent a replacement box which had no rotten ones but they were dry and no flavor at all. I have sent 2 emails with no response.if I were you id order from another supplier. I had to give 1 star in order to post but i give zero stars

Buyer beware. The reviews on their site must be totally fake. Made the mistake of doubling my order for a few $ more and now I have 16 of the worst grapefruit I've ever had. I still had some from the supermarket and they are considerably better than these which were 3-4 times more expensive.

Called to find out when everything would be shipped. Ordered on February 11th. Called on February 17th to find out why the order was not received and I was told that it was not shipped. Asked to cancel and they told me they would not cancel the order and I would have to wait, maybe it will ship next week. So much for trying to support local business.
