Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach FL

A family member went on 5/19/23, after being misdiagnosed on 5/18 @ horrible Adventhealth and being treated badly. The difference was like night and day. The staff was friendly and attentive. They took all of the appropriate measures to properly care for my family member. Thank you Halifax Medical for going above and beyond! Also thumbs up to the security guard. Respectful and nice reminded me of Israel the Hawaiian that sang somewhere over the rainbow

I recently spent 4 days in the ICU. The nurses and doctors were amazing, how ever I hated pushing that call button in the afternoon, and I seldom did because I didn't want to bother anyone. That lady was so sarcastic and rude, and she never relayed the messages. She sure could use a refresher course in being nice. I think her name was Dolores. She's the reason I did not give 5 stars

Don't go here they are thieves my husband fell off a roof at work and while he is in his way to icu someone stole his ring and no one knows anything
And after telling them his name all his info he was still named john doe!

Terrible place. Have been twice. Walked out twice. Even had a little kid with a head injury waiting. Would not recommend if you dont have at leastt 12 hours to waste

Went here because I was having complications with my pregnancy. The issues started when I walked into security there was no compassion or empathy what so ever I was in extreme pain and could hardly walk and had to sit while my husband went to get me a wheelchair. The security at the time yelled at my husband saying that’s not allowed and I would have to walk through security. After that my husband and I had to wait in a long line at check in. I’m sorry but What happens when I’m in labor? Do I need to go thru this same process? The security needs a class on how to treat patients. They were very unprofessional and shouldn’t work jn an environment yelling at people that are sick or in pain. I hope this hospital comes up with a different protocol when it comes to
Patients being in labor. Lastly, before I was able
to check in at Labor and delivery it took almost an hour to get checked in which is crazy to me considering I was in a lot of pain. 4 plus hours later I was finally able to get something for my pain. I will end with this the nurses are great considering they’re understaffed.

I had a family member taken in suddenly and we only knew he was taken to "Halifax Hospital". The service on the phone was excellent, very kind and understanding helpful to locate our loved one. Thank you!

My mom has been in this place 3 times this year. 2 weeks ago an ambulance brought her after using her life alert. Said it was heart and lungs in er. She was in there 1 week before they kicked her out. I kept asking for a dr to speak to me, a social worker to speak to me a patients advocate to speak to me. I was told case management was the best I'd get. They work for the hospital not the patient. 830 the night before they discharged her a dr finally called and told me what was wrong. She went into a nursing home. A week later she's back because she was vomiting and had blood in it. So they are going to do a GI. They called me to verify it could be done and said they'd call when it was done around 12ish. 1 no call so I go to hospital. She in her room and I'm told nurse will let me know how it went. 1 and a half hours later nurse says I cant tell you and dr called you. Um no I have POA and I'm the only one she has authorized to talk about her medical condition. Needless to say at 4: 15 I left as dr wont be around til after visiting hrs. 730 I call to ask nurse how she is doing. I'm told she is with dr and can not speak right now. Ok because I want to talk to dr about her GI. I give my number and once again no call. I am her voice because if her condition and all I want are answers. I have a case number from last visit with dcf and the governors office and may just have to call back. They are people with feelings not just dollar signs. I know hospitals are a business but have some compassion for the elderly. No need for a oh we do care because action speak louder than words.

Well, something has really changed at this facility! It has gone from absolutely horrible care to excellent care and service from two years ago. I have lived here over 60 years and would have never believed it if I didn’t see and experience it for myself! They took extreme care of my husband with professionalism and care that I’ve ever experienced at this hospital! Kamry Dean took care of our concerns that we needed addressed! We had a pleasant visit from the CEO of Halifax Hospital, Jeff Feasel! A Hugh difference from 2021! Dr. Smith, Dr. Miner & staff were fabulous in facilitating the emergency care, that in my operation saved my husband life. Positive changes have finally arrived for our community!

Literally the WORST HOSPITAL IN DAYTONA BEACH FL you know you should have listened to the reviews when Everyone calls it Killafax literally have a video of the staff eating in patient’s view mindlessly Chatting away oh and don’t think about asking them for an update YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT LONGER even the Security was sleeping on the job employees have no Sense of urgency or Effectiveness Staff was chilled on their phones I have a video of 2 men in the Emergency Department leaning and chatting for a hour straight like they have no job to do say they are busy Emergency Department but where is the Emergency? Why is it this hospital has a lack for emergency Even the Result waiting room Staff were Rude There was a old white lady I asked for help but because she was eating and i interrupted her she said if I am tired of waiting for my Husband I could just go sit in my car and take a nap Where is Human Resources when you need them? Definitely need a Revamp of this hospital Better Staff Better Nurses Better Security THEY NEED BETTER ALL OVER I WISH THERE WAS A TV SHOW CALLED HOSPITAL RESCUE BECAUSE THIS HOSPITAL NEEDS EMERGENCY HELP TO FIX WHATS GOING ON HERE literally visited today and was so mortified I had to write this review to save the next person from wasting their time coming here TAKE THE EXTRA FEW MILES AND GO TO ADVENT QUICKER SERVICE TAKES THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY AND MORE EFFECTIVE Not to mention They We’re running a Stupid program for students to pretend to have fake injuries and wait in the emergency line in front of all the Actually sick individuals and were making them the highest priority

Within the last 6 years I’ve delivered here, The last delivery I had was ABSOLUTELY horrible. My C-section team was horrible so horrible that at one point I felt as if I was falling asleep during surgery and I knew that wasn’t a good thing, I had become so weak that I could speak loud so I started to do things to get the anesthesia team or anybody in the room to notice me, Sadly they couldn’t because they were all on their phones, During a surgery! My room was filthy! When taken to the bathroom to do my first clean up after surgery my nurse dropped the towel on the ground and still wanted me to use it on my private areas! All the staff I came across during my stay were rude and had no hospitality WHATSOEVER. Out of my 3 day stay I came across 3 friendly people! This is to say the least! I’m so glad that I made it home alive and pray others do also

This is a world class medical center with world class staff from receptionist to exit personnel or as I like to say stem to stern.

I highly recommend this facility and at my age of sixty-one years old I’ve seen a few from Brigham and Women’s Hospital Boston, MA to Albany Medical Center Albany, NY and a few in between.

I am a veteran, and as all us veterans know - we all have each other’s six for the long haul, I say to my comrades this is a go to facility run with military precision and immersion in the task and individual at hand.

I thank you all and appreciate the care you provided to me in my hour of need.

I was told " you have no value which is why we just treat the symptoms and don't look for the cause" by Dr Bender. I filed a verbal complaint and the chief medical officer Margaret G. Crossman, MD never responded.
I was also told that blood in urine is normal for but for a condition that I do not have.
I was also "guaranteed that a pinched nerve was not causing my issues" and something in my neck snapped and all the symptoms I was seeking help for disappeared immediately.
You have some bad doctors there you should reign in.
I have no faith in Halifax Health any longer. I trusted doctors my entire life and that was a mistake.

The best hospital to give birth to. Everyone over there been such a blessing. When you think you won’t have a way, but God made a way for me. I have no family member or friends down in Daytona. Only God knows how they have help me out! I’m very grateful and thankful for what they have done for me. To the Employee, Doctors & Nurses, no need to mention names. You know who you are, Thank you so much!

I brought my hubby in as he was having extreme pain. Advent Hosp.the previous night had brushed off telling him he was not in pain. Halifax nurses seemed to be telling him the same thing. ER Dr. Glimmer (spl?) came in and within a few minutes understood his condition, ordered tests, medical advice and referral to appropriate Dr. 5 * to him.

Don't deliver here and seek care elsewhere! I had to leave before I lost my temper after waiting for hours to see my granddaughter. These people do not care about you or your family so let this be your warning! Your relatives will be left in the dark about your condition and your newborn. No care, no compassion, no urgency!

Do not ever go to this hospital this hospital is literally a scam. They charged my friend 7K for reporting a head ache without health insurance.and my personal experience in an emergency situation is also the same they charged me 4k just to enter the hospital and 500$ physician fees and on top of that the fees of the x-rays which was 81$ they failed to note down my health insurance and now I had to talk to them and find out that they were about to bill me me 4.5k for something that happened 3 months ago. Border line scam hospital!

I had my baby here and I was treated horribly they didn’t care about me or my baby’s needs, I then come to find out they messed up my insurance numbers and maybe that’s how they treated people without insurance but I’ll never step foot in that hospital again. A child’s birth should be the happiest moment of any mother’s life and mine was a nightmare that I will NEVER forget back. I’m completely heartbroken over it and my doctor John white was a joke avoid him and that hospital if possible
