What an amazing eye care center Hamlin Eye Care is! I can’t count how many optometrists I have had over my 77 years, Dr Patel is by far the BEST! He took the time to explain every test, and addressed every one of my concerns and developed a plan for me to protect my vision. He was kind, caring and helpful. I can’t recommend him highly enough. PLUS his office staff is kind, caring and helpful also. If you are looking for excellent eye care go see Dr. Patel.

The doctor Patel was Very professional, and the girls in the front desk greeted us sweetly. I would definitely go back again!

I would give Hamlin Eye Care 100 stars if I could! The level of service and care from every single person in that building is absolutely outstanding! As soon as I walked in I was greeted with all smiles. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Dr. Patel was amazing. He listened to all my concerns and took his time in explaining everything to me and made sure all my questions were answered. When looking for glasses, Faith helped me pick out the perfect frames! I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Patel & his staff. Everything was perfect & I was made to feel very comfortable & not rushed at any point. No pupil dilation needed either!

Love this place. Dr. Patel and his staff provide amazing service. His wife is the amazing dentist next door which allows for flexible appointments for both of them when scheduling a family for both dental and eye care.

Update: After a few years of service, Dr Patel is where I go for my vision needs. I love his concise explanations and his staff is a pleasure to work with.

Good afternoon, my family and friends of Hamlin and Overlook.

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, I visited Hamlin Eye Care for my yearly eye examination. I met Dr. Tejas Patel for the first time, and I enjoyed his bedside manner and demeanor. Dr. Patel was cordial and explained the process intuitively, which was enjoyable.

After the exam, I met with Faith to pick out a pair of new glasses. I was not comfortable with Faith's experience. Thankfully, Rose stepped in quickly and continued the process, and I was genuinely pleased with how Rose helped me. Everything ended well, and I made my payment and left.

The following morning, at 9: 10 a.m, I called Rose because I liked the glasses, but I felt I would prefer something other than wearing navy frames. Rose was very kind and informed me that she would speak to her manager, Paula, to see what they could do, and I was okay with that. Rose called me back and informed me to come to the office and pick out another frame. I picked another frame and paid an additional $60 because the frames were better quality, which would benefit me. I asked Rose how long it would take to receive my new eyeglasses, and Rose said ten to fifteen days, but the change would add additional time. I called a couple weeks later to follow up, and Rose was on vacation. When Rose returned from vacation, I called, and she said a couple more weeks.

On Wednesday, October 25th, my wife had a dental appointment next door at Hamlin Modern Dentistry with Dr. Janisha Patel, Dr. Tejas Patel's wife. When my wife finished her dental appointment, she stopped next door to check the status of my new eyeglasses. Faith said that new glasses could take twenty business days or more, and someone would call us the next day with an update. No one called the next day. I called, and Rose answered my call. I explained to Rose my wife's previous visit and her conversation with Faith. Rose tried but could provide a viable explanation. At that time, I asked to speak to Paula, the manager, and Rose informed me that Paula was on vacation, returning on Thursday, October 26th. Today is Thursday, October 26th, at 3: 30 p.m, and I am still waiting for a call from Paula. I know I will miss a call from Paula. I will wait patiently to see if I will receive my new eyeglasses next week. I will report how this turns out so you can draw your conclusion. No one is at fault, but I have no idea when I may receive my new eyeglasses. How would you feel paying in full and having no idea when your eyeglasses will arrive.

I want to provide a follow-up to my review above.

An hour or so after I left my review, I received a call from Dr. Patel that my new eyeglasses had arrived—a simple coincidence.

I had spinal surgery a week prior. My wife picked up my new eyeglasses for me today. The glasses fit great, and I am happy.

Dr. Patel called and left me a voice message, letting me know that he read my review and that he would like to speak to me.

I am a business owner, and I strive to provide a great product and excellent service, as Dr. Patel. When you own a business, your front line, your staff, needs to understand that if you say you will call, you must call; do not blow it off. I asked Rose to have Paula, the manager, contact me in the morning, and I have yet to receive a call from Paula.

My disappointment was in the lack of follow-up Dr. Patel's team should have provided. I left Dr. Patel a voice message conveying my point, which I am reiterating in my review.

I hope my review allows Dr. Patel to share with his team that if you tell a customer you will contact them, it is of utmost importance to do so, even if you have not received an update.

Dr. Patel and his team are more than awesome!
You feel comfortable during the eye exam, he is detail-oriented and ensures you address all your concerns during your visit. My 8-year-old fit his contact lenses and Dr. Patel and his staff were amazing. He's kind and patient, especially with kids!

From the minute you walk in you feel welcomed. Faith helped me through the process of finding glasses and gave me honest opinions.
Dr. Patel was knowledgeable and patient with me after having a terrible experience with MyEyeDr in Clermont. He explained what he’s looking for and why in my appointment and showed me pictures. My glasses were reasonably priced. They also have luxury designer frames like Saint Laurent, Gucci, Tom Ford in addition to other non-luxury brands. I loved my experience with Hamlin Eye Care! Highly recommend. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable!

First time visit. 8 minutes late after letting them know. Wanting to charge $40 late fee. Money making machine don't need when there are sooo many other optometrists to choose from in this town! Says a lot about what they REALLY care about, and it's not my sight!

Great environment! Dr. Patel explains everything in plain english. Paula and Faith helped me pick out my glasses and get the right contact lenses. 5 star service all the way.
