Handler Fishing Supply reviews
13 This is my second review of this tackle shop, the last being about a year ago, and as I've stopped back in yesterday, I thought I'd take a moment out to update my review. Hander's remains the top spot for all your fishing supplies in this area - BY FAR! Their location (unlike most of the other local tackle shops) easily accommodates multiple vehicles towing boats to get in and out without any parking issues. If you're traveling over from Orlando to do some freshwater bass fishing or saltwater fishing (out of Port Canaveral or the beach) take it from someone who found out the hard way = DO NOT get ripped off buying your gear, bait etc.out at the Port or in Cocoa Beach (and especially not Pro Bass Shop in O'vlle) as they all gouge the prices MASSIVELY, and the guys behind the counter are mostly just dudes hired to run the cash registers with little or less fishing knowledge than you - but at Handler's the staff totally know their stuff including where the fish have been biting (as of the day before!), the weather forecasts, what bait to use - EVERYTHING, and the quality of their merchandise is top notch and at great prices. The staff is friendly too, which keeps the good fishing vibes rocking. Yes it's a tad out of the way from going straight to the port or other local spots, but actually only by about 15 minutes or so, BUT THE EXTRA 15 MINUTE DETOUR PAYS OFF MASSIVELY if you (like myself) work a lot, so when a chance to go fishing does come along, you want to play all your cards right to maximize your chances of ACTUALLY BRINGING THE FISH IN AND BACK HOME and without getting gouged in the process.
UPDATE: Stopped back in yesterday to ask their name to give credit where it is due: So ask for Grayson, Bobby and Rick when you are there, they can set you up for what you need and point you towards where they are biting!
Great shop! Extremely friendly and helpful staff. All the gear you'll need except for fly tackle.
Stopped in last week for a lure recommendation and was led to buy a Whopper Plopped 90 which has worked GREAT. Very knowledgeable and courteous
Great selection and staff is always willing to go the extra mile to help with any assistance. Definitely has my business.
We visited this store to purchase a set up to start shoreline fishing and didn't know what to get. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and had us set up within 30 minutes. We did some fishing and found our new hobby, as well as the store to go to for our fishing needs.
I have been to many tackle shops between Texas and this side of Florida, fishing all along the gulf and east coast the past 5 months. This is BY FAR my favorite, best assorted, clean store I have visited in my journey. I left educated, delighted, and impressed. Good prices, excellent management, I mean they just hit every mark. If I lived here, I might even apply for a job here.:)
I'm an absolute novice when it comes to fishing. The gentleman at the register was very helpful when it came to explaining different weights of line, and how to properly put weight, hook, and line on the rod. Went out immediately after and caught my first catfish within minutes of being on the dock! Great experience and great people. Will be back if I ever need any supplies!
Great service! Employees have so much knowledge on their products! 10 out of 10 would recommend!
Pretty much has all the good stuff for offshore.great staff.very helpful. I will be going again for sure
Good selection of rods, helpful sales guy, lots of fishing related gear, a bit hard to get through.
Had what I was looking for at a good price. Lots of items to choose from. Will be going there for my fishing needs
I'd like to thank your staff for the advice and education on fishing the Banana River and to Capt. Rick for tying me some flies. I was able to get my first speck on the fly using a fly rod that my company manufactures. I plan on making this trip a yearly thing. I'll see you next time.
Recently went to this shop and was extremely happy with the service I received. The guys here are super knowledgeable and helpful.
I can't wait to use the reels i bought from them. If you're in the Merritt Island area I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you stop by this store. They'll take good care of you.
