Hawks Cay Resort, Duck Key FL

I really have mixed feelings about this review. The pictures on the website were very misleading. When we got there it was a pretty big let down. The first villa we got was number 2005, DONT EVER STAY THERE! It was run down and out dated. Very dirty, mold and mildew all over the bathroom, hair from past guests in the bathroom. The kitchen is supposed to be fully stocked and only has 2 spatulas, one pan, and one pot. After complaining and showing them over 20 pictures of issues they moved us to villa 7088. This one was a million times better! The villas are small but at least this one was nice and clean. We spent most of our time at the kid area. This is rated #1 for families and kids in the keys which really isn’t saying much. Grace, the kids director, is really their only saving grace in that department. She was beyond wonderful and I’m sure deserves more than they pay her! She did the kids night out which my daughter was blown away by. The pirate ship was run down, small, and sad. The playground was literally rusting and falling apart. The pool was clean but had no shallow end for kids and the fountain was not working on it. Thankfully, Grace had planned plenty of activities and fun for the kids and families. As far as the overall goes, if they update things and spruce it up we would consider going back. Marsha, at the front desk, is one of the reasons we would consider going back because she moved us to a better villa. I still don’t think they are up keeping it enough to charge $700 or more a night though. They should take some of what guests are paying and actually invest it in the property and staff.

Overall a very nice stay in the resort for vacation, staff was friendly, accommodations and amenities were very nice, good poolside bar, however rooms were not ready for check in until 5: 45, an hour and 45 minutes late, pool closed at 7: 30 p.m. Which is early in our opinion.

Pretentious fluff. 2 places to eat. Too many ill monoreddito kids, no microwave. Its like a ghost town after 6pm and they close everything. Expensive! 40 clams for eggs benedict and 25 clams for 2 drinks. If you get a drink have a seat because it Tales teo people to ring out and make one.

This place is beautiful It is an amazing resort in a very beautiful place, the drive from Miami was amazing! The resort was very clean, professional and full of people who were all enjoying there stay as well! It's awesome because there are dolphins on the resort as well & you can see them swimming and interacting with the trainers as well as those guests who paid additional to be able to swim and interact with them. It is an awesome experience the dolphins are gentle and so so smart! The tiki bar was nice as well the drinks were good, it was nice because they sell 32oz shakers that you can keep and take up to your room and get a discount on a refill! The food was amazing as well! This is definitely a go to again!

I had a great Time. Very comfortable and quiet, an excellent place to find peace next to the ocean. No complaints about the service provided. I felt in paradise.

Worst experience here the rooms smelled like mold and the staff was very rude half the resort was closed and they never let us know we came all the pools were closed

Very poor service and the rooms had a moldy smell from the hurricane and the staff was very rude especially Chris the manager I do not recommend this resort

Great time this past weekend going to Hawks Cay by Boat from Palm Beach! They have recovered quickly from the storm, Amazing House, Awesome Dockage! Cant wait to come back!

We had a great time. The staff was wonderful and the accommodations were very comfortable. Can't wait to go back. I highly recommend the Hawks Cay!

This place will be great next summer when they have cleaned up and reopened. It's not their fault Irma paid them a visit!

Great location. Everything on site you would need, Good restaurant, general sundries store, activities for kids, pools, boat rental, etc, etc. If coming down spring/summer of 2018 expect some of the place to be under construction. They were hit hard by Irma. Would probably be a 5 star rating if all the amenities here were up and running but they are doing the best they can to recover from the storm. Nice staff. Units individually owned so some variety between units. Overall great place to stay.
