This was the worst experience I every had. This will be the last time I come here.

Suffering with pain and vomiting. Doctor never controlled my pain and the nurse are very rude. They complain that they have to meds and stuff. I’m here in a room afraid the call a nurse because I don’t want an attitude.

My thing is if you don’t want to work don’t come to work. Especially that you are treating patients. I can not see my self coming here again.

I remember tell people this was the best hospital and people use to tell me not to come here because they will kill you. Now I under what they meant.

My father was lucky enough to spend his last four days on this earth at this caring and compassionate hospital. Every one involved on the 3rd floor… (room 363) were amazingly thoughtful, respectful and again, compassionate. Top marks to all, especially nurse Carrie. How you do it day in, day out…I’ll never know… but I’m so grateful that you were there for my father’s care!
Thank you!

I WANT TO KNOW WHY MY MOTHER WAS MOVED IN THE MIDDLE OF HOSPICE CARE - HOURS AFTER SHE WAS REMOVED OFF LIFE SUPPORT! YOUR OFFICES DONT WANT TO RESPOND TO MY VOICEMAILS I WILL START HERE! THEN TO SOCIAL MEDIA! THEN TO THE NEWS!

YOU ALL HAVE GOT TO MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR END OF LIFE CARE! This hospital is horrible. My mother had a cardio/pulmonary event that left her with significant brain damage. It took our family a while to come to terms with the doctors (SEVERAL rushed doctors) recommendation to take her off the ventilator and allow her to pass peacefully. It was a long hard decision to make. The doctors assured us that there was little to no hope in her having any kind of meaningful recovery. They assured us that her lungs were not functioning correctly off the ventilator. Several last ditch efforts to fight for my mothers life and we decided to do it. I have my own personal issues with the way the hospital moved my mother the first time but that is a small thing to what comes next. Saturday night we decide to take her off and to do it that night. We kissed our mother and said our goodbyes. My sister and I decided to stay with her to the very end, which was hard enough to begin with. FIVE HOURS AFTER MY MOTHER WAS REMOVED FROM LIFE SUPPORT AND THE VENTILATOR STAFF DECIDES THEY WANT TO MOVE US TO A RANDOM ROOM WITH LESSER QUALITY NURSES AND ABANDON US FROM CRITICAL CARE. The critical care nurse mentioned that we may be moving into a bigger room with a bathroom and more space, but not once did she mention that she would also be leaving. She unhooked my mom from the heart monitor and rudely dropped us into a small room with no way to know if my mother passed away. Once I didn’t hear her heart beating anymore, I ran to get a nurse who DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DETERMINE IF SOMEONE WAS DECEASED. This was the absolute worst kind of experience someone can have when saying goodbye to a loved one. WE WANT ANSWERS!

Repeatedly on August 28 and 29th 2023. Dr. Spergel kept trying to give medicine which I explicitly mentioned were not to be given to her. He did not bother with reading anything in the charts. One big indication is that he prescribed hydrochlorothiazide when my mother already has low potassium. I specifically mentioned this when talking the nurses of her medicine and drugs that will cause her problems. She complained of pain and he did nothing. The chief issue she was brought in for was low oxygen and she was put on oxygen for her stay however he has no answer for what should be done once she gets home. He stood at a distance when addressing my mother and did not even ask questions of any kind. He came said what he wanted to and left without any questions to perhaps see if there was anything he could do to make my mother feel any better. Dr. Spergel ordered discharge without looking over her blood work which showed the low potassium. When the nurse argued to not release her he spoke rudely to her. I gave this hospital a chance after a decade and they reaffirmed that the care is complete and utter nonsense. Biggest waste of medical care in the area. My family will never come to this place again. I get she was diagnosed with strep, however given that she already is recovering from Covid and Pneumonia for which she was in the ICU for, the care was simply horrible. No compassion no caring at all on the doctors part.
Update: Although the hospital staff did reach out after I called them. The physician department never did. Shows level of care and how much they would like to address the issues they have. One underlying other note. If you look at every 1 or 2 star review for this hospital the stories kinda blend together. So they aren't learning from their mistakes nor do they care. Other hospitals have unique situations which can be understandable. But to have the same track record for well over 2 decades. That is speaking volumes about the institution.

If. I could give a no star I would. This hospital refused service to a person tonight with clear signs of tingling, numbness in legs, lower lumbar pain with bowel problems, (workman's comp case), injury from work, it clearly says if you experience these you need to be seen. He was welcomed with the rudest woman you could possibly have in staff working I can't Believe this, your hospital is just money oriented, I hope other cases lead you all into the court room, clearly you can't deny people but you do. This woman even said nothing we can do for you, clearly really? Bet if he had insurance you'd rack up those bills right. Your discusting
I have a son with insurance that will be having open heart surgery soon glad I know this now, he may be going to a different hospital.

On Aug. 21,2023, I had colon cancer surgery by a very fine doctor. The surgery was completely successful. I spent five days in the hospital, with two nurses each day. On the third day of surgery, a nurse began yelling and screaming at me, reason unknown. Remember, I'm lying in bed after major surgery. I wore a heart monitor, which must have blared, when a group of people rushed into my room. My blood skyrocketed to 177, threw me into Atrial Fibrillation. That nurse nearly killed me. Now, a cardiologist is to become my BFF. I'm to take the world's most expensive medication for the rest of my life. The other nurses were wonderful, but it took only one to nearly end my life. In a review sent to me by the hospital, I named the nurse. For your sake, I hope that girl is removed from all sick person contact forever.

This was the closest hospital to the hotel where we stayed on ur recent vacation. I came into ER with a head wound (cut and very large bump), was groggy and in a LOT of pain. Not sure how long I had to walk corridors before being offered a wheelchair. The first nurse I saw kept making snarky, sarcastic remarks. It was as if she saw me as a waste of her time. The nurse who hooked me up for an EKG seemed very inexperienced and kept pinching me. No assistance was ever offered to me for getting up onto or down from the ER gurney or CT Scan table. Everyone was so indifferent!

This is the worst hospital in the world I'm still here, no one I mean no one nurses, doctors, etc communicate with each other, they walk around with iPhone as if there using them for communication but there not, they do not listen to there patient, I believe they need to be investigated, for keeping patient so they can run up the insurance bill, I finally met the worst PCT in the world she works on the 4th floor her name is (BRANDY) omg, she should never be allowed to work in the health care field EVER EVER, she will turns your call light out and walk right out the room, without asking you what you need and have the nerve to look right at you, don’t understand it.
I was in my room for 4 days before I seen a housekeeper and that's because I asked for one

Heart wrenching and terrifying experience. 78 year old patient left in pre-op with nothing to drink and no iv fluids for 7 hours. Unfortunately, this boils down patient neglect and a complete lack of a minimum of care. Surgeon was skilled, kind and responsive, but, it doesn’t appear protocols are in place to account for unforeseen delays in procedures. Very unfortunate for patients and families.

While the care was good the billing has been an issue. Upon receiving the bill from the hospital, I called and asked if I paid in full if I could get a discount. I was granted a discount and paid that amount. 6 months later I was billed the remaining amount stating since I didn't pay the day I was in the emergency room (little of which I remember) I am not allowed a discount. My remaining balance was turned into collections. I disputed the amount stating I had paid in full with a discount provided and the reference number. It was declined. Why offer and take a discounted amount to only come back and reneged? Very disappointed.

During my recent hospital stay, Kristen U.in CIU provided outstanding service. She has a very positive attitude and such a friendly personality. She helped me calm down when I was very scared. This is the type of service that is never forgotten. Thank you Kristen U.in CIU.

My son was homeless and addicted to meth as well as suicidal. Went here for help. Was ridiculed, talked about outside his room, heard he was a waste of tax payer money, smelled bad, and quite a few other things. YOU PEOPLE DO NOT CARE! HE IS SOMEONE'S LOVED ONE! GET ANOTHER JOB IF YOU CAN'T DO YOURS! I WILL BE FILING COMPLAINTS EVERYWHERE!

After staying away from this hospital for 10 years, I tried to use this hospitals lab services today. When I called to inquire the hours I was told the lab services were open any time and that I could come in whenever I'm pleased. Upon arrival I was ran around several buildings per employee direction before finding the lab. After ringing the doorbell and waiting 10 minutes at the lab I was told I needed to go find registration first. After I found registrations I waited another way 10 minutes before being seen. Finally, I'm at registration and I'm told the lab doesn't open for 10 more minutes and I would need to wait till the lab opens to register. At this point, I had spent an hour getting the run around by inexperienced and unprofessional staff. If I could help it, I would not send a loved one to this hospital. It's always been a unsafe and unprofessional hospital. I've lived within 10 minutes of this hospital for 25 years and I have never once had or heard from someone I know that they had a positive experience at Largo Medical Hospital.

My husband has had 3 heart attacks, quadruple bypass surgery within the last 6 months. I brought him to the emergency room for chest pain. After doing a brief assessment, ekg and blood pressure he was sent to the lobby to wait for blood work to be drawn. The Troponin level was not drawn for over an hour, no one took his vital signs until I insisted on the very least a blood pressure! No one has checked his oxygen level, or anything else, and 2 hours later we are still sitting in the waiting area! He is still having chest pain! What the hell kind of hospital is this?

Update from 2/2/23
My husband stood in the emergency waiting area for almost 5 hours with chest pain. He was not put on telemetry, not given aspirin or nitroglycerin until after 10pm. His blood levels came back critically high indicating heart muscle damage and was still not put in a room for monitoring or treatment! He was finally admitted to the hospital after 10pm. He had a heart catheterization the next day which showed 3 blockages in one of the main vessels and had 3 stents placed.
I reported all this to the hospital, Joint Commission, Medicare, and the State Health Administration. I am happy to say all these agencies followed up with on site visits and review of documentation. I don't know the outcome of all of these investigations, but I do know that there was falsification of records. Medicare reported that documentation stated that Michael was put in a room for monitoring at around 6 30 pm. That is absolutely not true. There was video of him in the waiting area, where were the telemetry reports, the vital signs, and why did they wait until after 10 pm to give him Aspirin and Nitroglycerin?
I sincerely hope care has improved at this hospital so no one else has to go through this. My husband is a Marine Vietnam Veteran with PTSD, he should not have had to go through this needless, traumatizing, anxiety provoking experience. Looking back, I wish I had asked to speak to the nursing supervisor for help since I was getting nowhere with the staff that was working.

The care was decent, not great, but the communication at discharge was completely nonexistent. This used to be a good hospital, but apparently not so much anymore.
