HCA Florida Lutz Emergency

I gave three stars only because every other experience has been positive outside of today, otherwise it would have been 1. I went at the instruction of my primary care and it was clear the doctor at the ER was unhappy about this. He immediately stated, “I’m assuming this was a nurse practitioner or something? ” No one told me their names or introduced themselves outside of the very kind x ray tech and the registrar. The doctor didn’t come near me, (I was sent for suspected pneumonia that wasn’t clearing,) and everyone seemed quite bothered. I was told, “we do medicine differently than primary care doctors who put everyone on antibiotics and steroids. ” It just seemed like most of the staff was having a tough day and while that’s understandable, it’s a shame when it’s taken out on the patients. I’ll know to call next time to make sure this specific physician is not working, otherwise we will go elsewhere.

Brought my wife inside immediately received excellent care facilities were very clean with nice staff

I am a seasoned 40+years as a practicing RN.
I was playing with my Giant Schnauser and hit my head when I fell. I am also on Eliquis. After experiencing nausea and headache I went to the ER where I experienced a wonderful group of HCA employees. Dr. Nuss I believe is her name, was caring, listening intently and very outgoing. Stephen one of the RN’s was extremely capable and knowledgeable, again, always checking on me to see how my pain level was and if I was comfortable.
The CT of brain and neck was done with speed and the tech, I forgot her name, was professional and very sweet.
The RN that completed my EKG was, as the others, professional and had quite a sense of humor as we shared “nurse stories! ”
I work for HCA. I am so proud to share my positive experience with your ER and all of your wonderful employees. The front desk by the way was so happy I got to go home!
By the way! I love the bulletin board with everyone’s pets!

My mom was transported via Pasco Co EMS to this facility after she fell out of bed. They ran some X-rays and discovered she had a fractured 14th vertebrae. Sent her home with 3 days of pain meds and a Drs number. Meanwhile it took two nurses to get her in the car and they really struggled. She should have never been sent home because low and behold she fell again this morning and hit her head and had no use of her legs. Which was a chief complaint to the medics and nurses yesterday. This is negligence 100% I will definitely be following up with elder care.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could I’ve never been to such a horrible emergency room in my life.
I came here cause I’m new to the area, and I wish I would’ve went else where this place is unprofessional the assistant wrote my information down on a paper towel the doctor, Dr.apram ghuman had absolutely no bed side manners at all. I literally had to tell him that he’s a doctor and he should be more compassionate towards patients and not only that when he first walked into the room he didn’t even have the courtesy to close the door behind him he left the door open and ask me what did I need. I’ll never ever go here again I see why there not many people that go here because it’s not worth it. Some people shouldn’t be doctors because they lack compassion especially not knowing what someone is going through.

I should have done tel a doc would have been cheaper and same medications. I drove to this location thinking the doc could give me immediate relief like IV antibiotics the guy nurse said oh no we don’t do that here. The doc saw me 3 min I have gerd so bad gavebnt eaten since yesterday doc omeprazole and antibiotic by mouth. I told him I start a new job tomorrow this has to go away! Nothing don’t even think blood pressure taken. Don’t know if bacteria found or the level.but sure did my Er co pay update never heard a word from this company

I came into HCA Florida Lutz Emergency for chest pain, and they caught some pulmonary embolisms, which as a nineteen year old is absolutely terrifying. I was welcomed in by James, one of two of the amazing RNs who with amazing amounts of care took my initial vitals and took some blood as well as put in an IV. James was extremely gentle and had an extremely calm and gentle demeanor which helped my anxiety to lessen a bit. My second RN, Priya was absolutely amazing as well, she had such a way of calming me down that I have never experienced before and I am so grateful for her talking about cats to help me calm down. After some tests were done, Dr Kushan Patel came in several times just to check in on me and let me know everything that was going on, and I really appreciated his gentle speaking when he could tell I was under a lot of stress and panic. My second trip to this ER, I had James and Priya once again and they were amazing once again. This trip I had Dr Sahi who was quick and efficient! He also looked into a test that I was worried about from my previous hospital trip and completely made my night. I could not be more grateful for their amazing staff if I could give six stars I would!

Just a terrible place. $12k for a two hour visit for a stomach bug, an hour of which was me waiting to be seen with no one else in the waiting room. Trash service, and a complete embodiment of what’s wrong with American health care. Couple saline bags to hydrate and a standard blood test. $12k is price gouging to the absolute max. They preach “pay transparency” but then jack up their “advertised pricing”. Stay away from all things HCA. And management don’t respond to this to drive up your business rating, no one wants to hear your “sorry you feel that way, we would like to hear more” gaslighting response. Go to Advent Health instead of this joke of a hospital.

Been here several times, both for myself and for members of my family. Always quick, courteous visits, always friendly staff, clean rooms/lobbies. I've spent a lot of time in er waiting rooms both here and in other states, and this one is by far the best I've experienced.

Dr. Ghuman is a joke and dismisses his patients concerns when they come in with serious health issues.

Excellent service. They took care of me immediately. They are very professional and provided a great service. Special thanks to Karina for being so kind and caring. It is good to see a professional who is passionate about her job and provides excellence in service.

In my opinion - You're better off going to a REAL Emergency room in one of the near-by (Non-HCA) hospitals - at least there you can get more definitive care. I would not bring ANYONE here for ANY reason aside from imminent death. I took a family member here for an injury and was given a 4x4 bandage and a small tube of antibiotics and told to make an appointment with a specialist. The Bill? OVER $3,000.no stitches. No bone setting or xRays/MRI/CT etc. Nothing that would justify $1k, let alone over $3k. The Specialist - who told us to STOP using what this "ER" had given us and prescribed a different medicine - charged me less than $300. In my opinion, these people are preying on people when they're in need. Keep driving.

Got turned away from being seen because they have no capabilities to do any labs. How can you be considered an emergency room and remain open if you can't provide labs for your patients. Should be closed with a note rerouting to another facility.

I can not say enough good things about this facility. All the staff was friendly, personable and on spot with Quality care. Excellent experience. I would give this ER a 10.

This place is honestly a joke. My husband brought me here on January 4th because I was very sick. I had not moved in days due to body aches, chest pain, coughing spells, a fever of almost 104 and dehydration. I seen Dr. Cotton. I have never met a doctor so rude and careless in my life. All he did was take a look in my ear. His words were “you have an ear infection I’ll send you some antibiotics to the pharmacy and get you on your way home” like seriously? Didn’t even listen to my lungs or do a chest x-ray? When I would go to speak he would cut me and my husband off or start talking over us. When I demanded he do a chest x ray he said no I don’t need to be exposed to that radiation and I would get better with time. Then he asks me if there is a chance I could be pregnant. I told him maybe. His response was “either you know or don’t “ like how unprofessional can you be lol? As a nurse myself I understand knowing if I’m pregnant is important information to know what medication to put me on but there was no need for the smart remark. I also know being in the medical field if someone is unsure if they are pregnant to always do a pregnancy test. I also want to add the place was not busy at all. We were one of the few people there.
