HCA Florida University Hospital Emergency Room

The staff were so attentive and very caring. There's a good reason this hospital has amazing reviews. A Special thanks goes out to Myra who took the lead on getting everything taken care of so passionately.

Recently I was seen and treated in the ER. Dr Larosa, RNs Reyna and Dionne, along with paramedics John and Meghan were fantastic! They explained my treatment plan and answered any questions without hesitancy. Imaging studies were quickly done by Travis, CT tech, and results were quickly available. Upon discharge, my instructions and follow up referrals were readily available. I could not have asked for a more professional crew who really made an unpleasant situation very tolerable. They are truly wonderful caregivers!

My nurse Shade was the best nurse I ever had. She should be promoted in my eyes. Very caring, really good at her job

This is my 2nd or 3rd time visiting ER and each time I am greeted by a friendly staff; a very very clean place, examining rooms, etc and most of all - efficient medical team. Thank you all so much!

My father was brought in for respiratory failure on 3/27 and I cannot express my gratitude for the excellent care he received while in the ER. Dr. Baronese, Dr. Ellis, Dr. Neena, Dr. Istaban, Austin RN, Sharene & Diana, Nursing Supervision as well as the entire ER and Cardio Pulmonary Team. My heartfelt thank you for caring for my father and making a very scary situation turn out for the best. Every step of his ER stay we were included in the discussion of his plan of care, the care and compassion shown to us, his family was immeasurable. I will be eternally grateful for your expertise and compassion.

First of all, the nurses and most of the staff is amazing, efficient and friendly. Especially my nurse Curtis! He was my saving grace during a very difficult visit for me today and unfortunately the "doctor" on duty was Dr. Shmerling. Worst doctor ever.
I went in to HCA ER w/chest pains. I have a high family history of heart disease, cancer and my grandmother died young from blood clot in her brain. She did blood test & EKG, came in and said "everything is normal, I am sending you home". Dr. Shmerling asked NOTHING about my family history, she seemed completely disinterested in treating me. I said "But then what is the severe pain that I have in my chest when I breathe? " I told her I thought it may be acid reflux so I started taking Prilosec, she said it doesn't sound like acid reflux, let me do one more test. She raced out the door, no explanation. They test my blood for clots and it came back positive so she ordered a Cat Scan. Cat scan comes back negative, she said she's sending me home. NO Diagnosis, says "continue taking Prilosec". After she told me it didn't sound like acid reflux! I told the nurse when he was discharging me, "wait.why did the blood clot test come back positive? " He said he would get Shmerling back to answer. I heard her outside my room, in an extremely frustrated voice "what does she want? I already spoke to her? I TOLD her that! " She comes in the room, with an angry expression and spoke to me like I was an idiot and tried to explain. She is RUDE, has absolutely NO MANNERS, and I don't believe she has any idea what she is doing. I told my husband, "If I die, go after the doctor, it's her fault! " She rushed me out of there and told me take pain killers. I don't want to stop the pain, I want to know the cause! Worst medical experience of my life, and I have had hundreds of them. Never again will I go back there.

I had the pleasure of visiting this ER on March 30. From the moment I walked in the door, the team was polite, attentive, courteous, and accommodating and did a fantastic job explaining every step of my treatment. Everyone had a phenomenal bedside manner. I was seen quickly, and the doctor checked on me multiple times. The treatment provided was quick and effective, and I left without experiencing further symptoms. I highly recommend this team of absolute professionals.

The ER was clean and staff was able to take me right in. Had to wait just a little bit and had X-rays and saw the dr and was out the door. Was there maybe and 1 1/2. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Dr. Vanni and his staff are so professional and SUPER CARING and I thank you for taking care of my moms health. Such a clean and beautiful hospital. The nurses are AWESOME! And the cleaning staff down to the food was great. THANK YOU SO MUCH! And this was our first time being here.

The experience was amazing, the workers were kind and gentle towards me, When injecting the iv to making sure I’ll feel better. ️

Everyone was very knowledgeable and supportive to include after treatment instructions. However our receptionists could use a lession in how to treat incoming patients.

If you have to go to the ER then this is definitely the best ER to go! They are very professional and very passionate to your needs.

Ann Marie is so nice and caring. She did an excellent job at HCA. She was very kind and interacting with us and made our time at this hospital very enjoyable!

I went at around 8: 30 am, was out by 10: 30. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. Everyone treated me with the utmost respect and were incredibly nice.
Dr. LaRosa explained me everything in great detail and answered all my questions.
I can't say enough positive things about this hospital.

HCA sent me home Monday night knowing my test results were not normal. I ended up in the ER (I went to a different hospital) on Tuesday morning and needed emergency surgery. Avoid this ER.

I walked right into the emergency room doors and straight back to the patient area. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes on the many occasions I’ve visited the ER. There were several nurses and other staff working alongside each other with me. They were very fiendly, with great bedside manners, one if them could sing very well, lol. I’m a hard stick and this was one if the rare occasion that I only needed to be stuck once. They all worked together very well, which gave me confidence they knew their jobs very well. The Dr ordered all the necessary tests, xrays and even checked my heart. I felt completely confident with the care that I received.

My car got broke into, no cameras caught the guy because of the lack of cameras in the area. The wait was too long, it took around 4 houra and there were a lot of nurses doing nothing. I walked our of the hospital with my car stolen, and no results as to why I was in pain.

My catheter clogged, I went to HCA Emergency room, they admitted me almost immediately (2-3 minutes) and unclogged my catheter, I went home in about an hour.
The staff were very nice, caring and professional, they took good care of me.

My experience at HCA is as usual, the environment is clean the service is quick the staff is friendly. Especially when you're not feeling well, you just want to go home and take the advice from the doctor and begin to feel better. HCA is my place to go when I need help and my family's place as well I appreciate the staff and it's quick friendly service.
