HCA Florida Vero Beach Emergency reviews
14I came here because they did a great job with my grand daughter so I figured I would receive the same care, however I had a different doctor and he did not care about my symptoms at all. I needed a leg ultrasound to rule out a blood clot and even though they have techs on call he told me since I'm an ultrasound tech to scan myself. He also told me to go to a different ER if I wanted someone to do an ultrasound. Just awful bad side manner as well as putting patients at risk without treating them. Dr. Alper was the worst!
WONDERFUL experiences! The staff is prompt, helpful and friendly from start to finish. My family and I have had to bring our little ones here recently. My husband and I highly recommend this location! Thank you for taking care of our littles and making them feel comfortable.
Cannot say enough how wonderful the staff was and treated me quickly. Transferred me to Lawnwood Hospital.
THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH! SAVED MY LIFE. XOXO
My experience here was perfect! This place is amazing. Dr Shu and Christina were so attentive and compassionate. Super communicative. I’m so glad I found this place!
Treated well and promptly in Vero Beach, but if they send you to their hospital, it's not good for late day arrival. Lack of beds for admittance, poor or nonexistent food while waiting, 15 hours overnight. Things went better after late morning.
Overcharged. They never tell you that they charge the Drs bill separately, until you get a bill months later. Nowhere is it posted on their website or in the er that they charge for both the visit and the Dr separately. Rushed through paperwork, given barely any time to read it before they expect it back. Not told til the end that they want so much paid up front, again not posted anywhere. They did barely anything to help but charge 1000s. I'd rather drive further to another ER for an emergency than go here again.
Brought in my sick 9 month old (along with Dad, sick baby's twin AND a 6 year old) and we were seen immediately. Spent a little over 2 hours there but it was justified, there was constantly something being done to care for him, monitoring, medication, treatment, an xray, check ins to see how he was doing. The staff was amazing and all were very caring and patient. I love how the screen in the room gives you updates too. Overall a great experience and I am very grateful for the care my son received.
I went there with a possible miscarriage (unfortunately, I’ve had many miscarriages but the hubby and I keep trying). Since I’ve suffered thru this before, I was convinced that I was possibly suffering another one. I go in and was seen by the PA pretty quickly. She ordered fluids and nausea medicine. I was in severe pain; however, since I’ve moved to Florida I notice they judge you the second you say you’re in pain - then they think you’re a drug seeker. I sat in the exam room one for four hours waiting for fluids and anti nausea medicine. I told the doctor about the bleeding and pain and she offered me Tylenol. I took Tylenol before I got there even though I was very nervous to take it due to all the “autism” law suits and what not; therefore, she was unable to give me some when I got there. The bleeding and pain got so severe after 5 hours of no anti nausea meds and fluids - OF COURSE I would get upset just sitting in the room waiting. I advised them I was leaving because I could lay in my own bed and take Tylenol and at least vomit in my own toilet. Her immediate FIRST reaction was to say “well I’m not giving you anything stronger than Tylenol”. Just an FYI, pregnant women can take Tylenol or narcotics ONLY when they are pregnant. I felt extremely judged while going thru this heartbreaking situation. Tylenol has always worked in the beginning for me until an unexpected miscarriage pops up and you can feel yourself dying on the inside. My fiancé later that night took me to a different hospital due to the increase of blood and pain and they immediately had me hooked up to IV Fluids, given me IV nausea meds and IV morphine. The pain finally started to subside and when I explained what happened earlier that day - even the doctor at the hospital said that PA neglected me as a patient and should lose her license. I will be contacting my lawyer due to this malpractice and incompetent facility that let me sit in a room suffering a miscarriage for 5 hours with NOTHING. Do NOT go here. Once I get the female PA’s name (she was wearing black scrubs maybe about 5’3 or 5’4 and had blonde hair) I will post it on here. It’s horrible. They don’t care about you. HCA is the worst. Unfortunately, I lost the baby. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!
I came in for a wound infection. From the person at the front desk.to the nurse.and then the Dr, I was treated in a timely and courteous manner. Excellent survice. Thankyou to the entire staff. So glad to have this facility so close to my home.
It seems currently doctors and nurses get a bad rep for not taking care of their patients but, I cannot speak negatively about this location. They were professional and helpful especially Dr. Barabas he went above and beyond of any doctor I had. The nurses were sweet and patient.
If Dr. González (female) is not treating your kid there, go away. She’s literally the one person in the staff that genuinely cares about the well being of the patients.
Right now my 1 y/o daughter is getting discharged with fever, respiratory distress, low oxigenation, and profuse sweating. They DENIED further testing to find the reason of the symptoms. I’ve been discriminated against in the past here while being called “a regular Mexican” and my wife being referred to as “a whitey”. While the treatment was good the first 2 times I came here, today has completely changed my view. Someone from the staff that wants to take matters on the issue let me know.
My wife was in a car accident and had a bruise and burn on her wrist from the air bag. She went in to Lawnwood in Vero, and was there for about an hour and a half. They gave her two x-rays and some ointment and a bandage for her wrist. The bill was $6,000. And the bill even says that it does not cover the doctor's fee. Granted this is not coming out of our pocket, the insurance company takes care of it. But that is a major chunk out of our PIP coverage for that small of a thing. This doesn't leave much room for anything else. This is a racket!
This is the best ER in Vero! I really am so grateful for how kind they are every time I go or even just call in to see if my symptoms are ER worthy. They are always so helpful and informative and honest. I always feel so safe that I will be taken care of there too. I always give God glory for all things, but along with God, these nice people saved my mom’s life when she had an episode of heart failure and respiratory failure from double aspiration pneumonia. God bless every one of you!
Amazing place! Clean, thorough and quickly in and out! Staff, Nurses and Doctors are amazing! They took great care of my wife. Thank you! Great Job!
