Heffernan Hardwood just completed a total restoration of our hardwood floors. They did an outstanding job. The floors look better than they did when they were new 20 years ago. Heffernan far exceeded my expectations.

Heffernan Hardwood Floors did a fantastic job on refinishing the original oak floors in my 60+-year-old house. The floors had been covered with carpet for many many years and the condition when the carpet was removed was very poor. After many hours of hard work, scraping, sanding, and refinishing, the floors are absolutely beautiful! I can’t thank these guys enough for all their hard work and expertise. They are simply the best.

My historical home in Winter Park Florida is 100 years old. I had water damage from a roof leak that took place over time (really bad), thus, needed to not only replace a good portion of the hardwood flooring in the living room and library but also the subflooring. The new floors needed to match the original wood in the master bedroom and dining room because those areas were not water damaged. Enter Stephen Heffernan and his talented boys. What craftsmen! I am over the moon happy with their work, but more importantly, I consider them now a part of my family.

I lost my Father at 99 a few months ago and our family home was in need of renovating badly. The original floors are 70 years old and looked.well 70. After several quotes on the flooring from other local companies, I knew when Steven came in and looked around, measured and talked with me about the flooring Hefferman was the only choice. Over the week Steven was in the house I learned so much not only about all flooring but how much he cared about honoring my Father’s for me. We branded and incredible H at the entrance to the house that gave it such a personal touch. Heffernan is an honorable company, owned by an honorable family. I never dreamed the floors would ever be that beautiful, he delivered far past any expectation I could have ever had.

On purchasing our new home in Winter Park over the summer, we realized upon the first walk through that the original red oak flooring would need to be completely refurbished before moving in, as the floors were treated very poorly by the previous residents. Enter in Stephen and his crew (his two lovely Sons!).

From our first conversation discussing an estimate and timeline, I knew Stephen was an expert! Not only a credentialed expert on every kind of flooring in the world (he’s worked all over Europe and Russia too) but he was clearly passionate about his calling. He took the time to explain the various options and associated prices and gave us the right direction to choose exactly what we needed for our floor refurbish.

Although we ran into a very minor hiccup, as floor refurbishing can sometimes be unpredictable when you start in on a job, he recognized right away what needed to be done to keep the job on track and to yield the results we were both hoping for. He and his Sons worked tirelessly to restore these floors to their natural, original beauty and I have to say his work is absolutely FLAWLESS! He’s a perfectionist in every sense of the word and it shows in my floors. They are absolutely gorgeous and will last me a lifetime. Every time I take a barefoot step on my floors, the satin feel from the Magic Oil finish Stephen recommended reminds how much work and passion went into restoring these old floors to look and feel brand new!

Not only are Stephen and his Sons professional, creative and efficient, they’re also a very lovely family whom I enjoyed getting to know over the time we worked together. If you need any type of floor work done in your home or commercial, Heffernan’s is the only choice!

STAY AWAY! They bragged about how they were some of the best custom hardwood floor guys, took off with my money, never fixed our floors, and now they are mismatching our original floor and buckling horribly.

My husband and I recently bought an older home in need of quite a bit of TLC. First thing I wanted done were the floors. The red oak were old and dreadful. My wife and I recently bought a home and called a nationally known company to clean our engineered hardwood. They tapped out after 15 minutes and said my floors need to be sanded and stained. Came across Heffernan Hardwood and sent an email. Stephen promptly replied and came out to give an estimate. Not only was he able to clean them, he gave me a better price than the nationally known company and was able to schedule the jobs few days later. They did an amazing job! Floors look brand new. There really are some true floor craftsmen left. Steve Heffernan and his sons just refinished red oak floors in my 1927 house. A resident left with several dog urine stains in the dining room and me devastated and angry as the floors had been in decent shape. Steve sanded out the stains and left my DR/LR floors gleaming. I think he liked the result as much as I did. As I spoke with Steve I learned a lot about wood floors and finish options. You realize quickly how much he really loves wood and takes pride in his work. I enjoyed hearing some regaling stories about his floor projects in foreign and exotic locales. He and his sons Shun and Craig converted my frustration at damaged floors into really an enjoyable week - and I got absolutely stellar floors to boot!

We have a parquet floor that no one would touch. The Heffernan's did a beautiful job restoring it at a very fair price. They were professional, reliable and just wonderful people. Would highly recommend them.
