Hernando Beach Flats

Its not a beach just a loop around in a rich neighborhood, atleast thats where GPS took me

Great place to hang out, drink a beer or soda and just cool off with some friends. We saw dolphins a turtle and believe it or not a good sized shark.

Good time with family and friends just keep in mind of high and low tide (s) otherwise you might get stuck.

The flats are awesome! We luv to go there n spend the day playing in the water, watching the dolphins n they will come close to u if u r in the water. Its just a great place to go w the kids and/or the pets. BUT: I heard this last trip out that u must have a pet swim vest. Someone told my son, who works at the marina that they were fined for not having one. Anyway, low tide is the best time in my opinion cause u can walk around n look at the animals n such in the water, see starfish, sea shells scooting away, n fish of course. Enjoy!

Launch from the Blue Pelican Marina, and spend many a days on these flats. I concur with all the fantastic reviews on this thread.
FANTASTIC FAMILY TIME!

Beautiful day, not many people there today. Be very careful as it's a shallow area. Anchored and got out to walk around with my two grandsons. Lots of fish came around us if we wiggled our feet in the sand. They were right at our feet. Carefully got in the boat and with the motor only partly submerged we worked our way out to the channel and went back to Freedom Boat Club dock.

Such a nice place to hang out, grill some burgers with friends, race jetskis, the whole nine yards!

Great place to anchor and get in the water. It's one of those local spots that you either hear about or see on your way in or out of the channel.

One of my favorite places! Nice Friendly group of people hang out here. Don't forget sunscreen!

Great place to spend the day with family and friends! Always a nice crowd but not over crowded.

I love this place, even there is no real beach in Spring Hill, this place is definitely a must if you are there cause it a lots of fun!

I was wondering if anyone knows an easier place to put in kayaks to go out to the flats. We used the marina dock launch for the boat, but wondering if there was somewhere else to launch kayaks?

Great place to go on a boat! Lovely sand flats are perfect for swimming and getting your relaxing on!
