Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront reviews
20Don't waste your time. The overnight front desk person called the police on us on new years day around 130am and had us removed without even a warning for noise.
As a Hilton Diamond member I stay in many Hilton properties per year. I have been a Diamond member for the last 3 years. This is the worst customer service experience I have had at a Hilton property.
My poor experience started before I when arrived. Typically I check in on the app before arrival and then send the hotel a message asking for a feather free room. There is no messaging feature enabled for this hotel. So I had to call. This is simple and not a problem.if only the hotel answered their phone. 4 tries later I spoke with someone who could not get me off the phone fast enough.
Upon check in we encountered Margo, easily one of the worst customer service associates I have dealt with at a hotel ever. There was no greeting, no pleasantries. She asked for our names and started then talking on a headset about leaving something in her car. Super unprofessional. I asked if there was a map of the Night of Lights event. She handed me a general book of St Augustine and said, "there's a map of the area in there. " No, "enjoy your stay. " Or, "thank you for being a Diamomd member. " She just turned and said, "next" to the people behind us.
Later we requested late check out and were told no. When questioned Margo told us to call at 8AM because they are the smallest Hilton property and they want to make any available late check out fair for everyone, not just Diamond members. What is the point of being a Diamond member then? Is it not a LOYALTY program?
If you're considering staying here I say skip it. Go to the Embassy Suites at the beach instead. Much nicer rooms and significantly better customer service.
Pretty great historic hotel, meaning small rooms in a really good location. The staff was nice, shout out to Paul the valet parking attendant! He is like the welcoming party at the event. Super attentive as we arrived as well as when we departed.
The room was clean, had a nice balcony, and had a nice layout.
Front desk staff was welcoming and explained breakfast and café and the layout of the hotel.
My only complaint is for the money, I was expecting the balcony to face the water. Ours was sideways, so facing the parking lot and you had to turn to face the water. Not a deal breaker, but that being the case, maybe not worth paying extra for the balcony.
Absolutely, awesome! The perfect place to stay if you want the perfect Old Town experience in Saint Augustine! Right on the bayfront, walking distance to all the sights!
This hotel is a perfect location to walk to everything. The valet service makes check in a breeze.
Brendon at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating.
The rooms are basic but clean and modern. During the holidays in lobby there is a beautiful Christmas tree display. This location participates in the Nights of Lights Festival which even if you don't love Christmas lights is enchanting and worth seeing.
Being in the heart of everything and having a Starbuck and a full on site resturant makes for a great stay in St Augustine
Everything went well but 2 things went very wrong. 1. The front said there is no extension for check out even in high status member in Hilton group. 2. After argue about this they gave me 1 hour extension, but room cleaner were keep knocking my door from 9: 45 and at the end some guy said “am I aware of I passed the check out time” at 11: 20…
After complaining to the front desk during check out, they made me sound like i am the wrong person… and no sorry at all
A perfect location to see the sights throughout the town, the water, boats, Christmas lights, shopping, dining. The restaurant on site is just great- very delicious food, great service, open for breakfast & dinner- never having to leave the hotel. The valet parked our car & we never used it the whole visit. All the staff is SO friendly, accommodating, helpful! Sheraz in the restaurant is the BEST! Such a great person, so kind & served us amazing meals! Clark out front was great also! Always there, always helpful and gave us a lot of information & recommendations for the area. We will for sure return to this great establishment!
We enjoyed two nights at the Hilton. The location simply cannot be beat if you are in town to enjoy the Nights of Lights or just want to be close to things in the historic area. It is easy to valet park your car and not touch it again until time to leave. There are tons of shops and restaurants within short walking distance. Our room was clean and comfortable but VERY small. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a fridge but no microwave. All staff was friendly and helpful.
Beautiful historic hotel. Clean. Polite staff. Small rooms. Not recommended unless you sleep with earbuds in. I only slept for one hour due to noise from alley right outside our window. Would not recommend if you are a light sleeper.
Branden Mullins was amazing! We booked a room at the wrong Hilton. He called the other Hilton and was able to switch us without a penalty. He went above and beyond!
A pretty amazing location, right in the heart of it all. Can not beat that. But for the price, the rooms were very small, and once checked in, the service almost seemed non-exisitent as in we didn't really see anyone during our stay, just at checkin and at check out, and the checkin wasn't smooth.
The premises felt very clean and well kept up by cleaning staff. Valet was amazing and enthusiastic. I would recommend this place over most other options but there is still currently a top hotel in this area for my Wife and I and this one is not it.
The location of this hotel is perfect! The bay front rooms are wonderful. I stayed in room 208 photo will be attached. It is a great place to watch the sunrise over the bay.
Magical time during the Night of Lights display. From the time we pulled up everyone was welcoming and Brandon was outstanding in helping pre-stay and at checkin. Ed mixes a great espresso martini and old fashioned at the bar. Second time staying here and we may need to make it an annual trip. The balcony room facing the bay is a must
Great historic hotel in an amazing location - shopping, fabulous restaurants and views. The staff are all remarkable. Hosted a business meeting for 40 people and they did an outstanding job. Highly recommend
Charming hidden Hotel. In the middle of everything. Parking is not an issue, valet parking is included. Within walking distance of many historical locations you may want to visit. Trolley is also available and you can purchase tickets at the front desk. There is a complimentary loundry room if you need one. Entrance is a bit tricky though, you might miss it.
The staff and location of the hotel is amazing. However, the our room was not very clean. The room felt dirty. The carpet was sticky? The bathroom smelled of urine. Also, the shower door kept falling off the hinge when you would slide it open. The water pressure needs improvement. Lastly, the water temperature would suddenly spike in temperature. The view of room was spectacular but other than that not the best hotel.
Fun boutique style Hilton hotel on the water in historic downtown St Augustine. Keep the car parked and walk to the bars, restaurants and shops.
Just disappointed with the beach. The hotel is nice and great location
Liked a lot the manager happy hour every day. And liked a lot the included beakfast buffet. I really recommend this hotel. Hope the county will fix the damaged beach soon. The food ordered at the pool area was excelent
I stayed here during the recent hurricane and the manager Branden and his team treated me so well and took care of everything we needed. Great view in the room as well
The hotel was beautiful, location was perfect. Front desk and restaurant staff amazing. Sadly, and I mean this from my heart, as I've been living in a Hilton Home2Suites in Michigan since January for my job. The housekeeping staff was the worst I've ever encountered. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan. Not sure if it was supposed to or not and the desk didn't know. That meant every thing. And I mean everything was always damp (toilet paper/kleenex). Towels would not dry so we're set out for housekeeping. They would come in. Make the bed. Took all towels. Only replaced wash clothes and hand towels. 2 of my 5 nights I had to go to the front desk for towels. Ran out of TP, never replaced. Had to go to desk for that as well. Trash not emptied. Disposable coffee cups not replaced. Dirty glassware not replaced. As a Dimond level with Hilton I expected more. Then again I felt that because I was a Diamond level and able to use my Honor Points to offset the cost of my room, possibly I was treated less. Had I paid cash for my room at $347/ night, as I told the manager at check out I would have been irrate with the service. I'll think twice before I stay at this Hilton location in my future travels sadly.
