Great launch area, sandy with very little current. A great place in the summer for little kids to play in the water because it's shallow and sandy.

Incredibly Scenic with big beautiful trees that outline the river it's so peaceful because you're in the middle of nowhere. I do recommend that you have a truck or a recreational vehicle or something with front Rail Drive because the dirt roads are filled with huge potholes and a lot of sand so you have to have a car that you can maneuver very closely up and down the dirt road. My last trip there was extensive potholes to the point that I actually scratched my car because I had to drive so close to the brush to be able to get through. Once you arrive it's Paradise but getting there is quite a challenge. I will post other pictures of the beautiful Withlacoochee river and picnic area at a later

This campground has great significance to me and it's unfortunate my rating is one star. No one respected quiet time on my previous trip. Including the camp host. At 1AM I was forced to confront the camp host as Pink Floyd had been blaring for two hours. Followed by her very drunk and stoned husband accusing me of not being a registered camper. This psycho then followed me almost to the main gate. I only told him to stop a couple dozen times. Meanwhile the recorded dispatch call with SCSO will verify his actions, as well as body cam footage among other evidence. The rangers think these people deserve a second chance. I do NOT. I was the sole quiet person that trip. All three days the campground was anything but quiet. There is zero confidence in the current camp host. Which creates a giant systemic problem. The worst noisiest and least satisfying camping trip in decades. Remove the host and replace them with someone deserved.

This campground would receive a 3 star rating if it weren't for the ticks. My God the ticks at this campground are unbelievable! They're absolutely everywhere and sprays aren't very effective. When they get you it takes a month to heal from the bite. It's reasonably priced, conveniently located right by the Withlacoochee River complete with a little launch for kayaks and canoes, it has showers (which are not well maintained), a spot for trash, running water at every campsite, and friendly patrons. Even with all the good considered, it still deserves a low rating for the out of control ticks.

Near perfect! This is a beautiful campground on the river. Campsites are huge, especially #13. Most are shaded with some sun for solar. There is a bathhouse with flush toilets, sinks and hot showers. Each site had potable water. There is a trash bin and pomp out station. All this for $10/night. However, the ticks are out of control. In gathering firewood around my site, I picked up 10 or so ticks. They are tiny and got on everything. 3 days later, I'm still finding them in the RV. Also, dogs are not allowed. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the ticks, but that would be a horrible combination. Cell service is spotty. T mobile had 2 to 3 bars.

Water very low on the Withlacoochee this year. Still a nice quiet slice of “Old Florida” pre urban sprawl.

Great youth camping area right on the water separate from main camping area and boat launch. When the river is low, cut off via water can be hard to navigate

This Forest is always clean. The Ranger is always polite and helpful. The water this time was really low and be careful of the ticks.fantastic place!

Fun secluded park. Good place for picnic and plenty of shade from 100 year old oak trees. Great nature trails to see animals, spiders and a green thick forest.

Beautiful place to paddle board. Free to launch. I went downstream a little ways, then turned left. I paddled upstream for 2 miles then turned around. It took 1-1/2 hours upstream and 50 minutes downstream. On March 20, the water was as shallow as 8 inches at times.

Enjoyed our stay. The weekends seem pretty busy, but during the week we pretty much had it all to ourselves.

This is a very nice campground, it has water on each campsite and a bathroom house with hot water in the center for all guests.
Some campsites are not very private but they are all away from each other.
On my first day we had 12 deers close to our campsite and also saw an armadillo, that already makes me happy.
While the fishing wasn't as good as I expected, there are some very good fishing spots nearby.
I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Nice campground. We stayed at the group site and the kids could fish right on the campsite.

Huge sites with good privacy. Our 2nd week had a tick hatch and the sand fleas started biting. Not sure what the campground host does other than ensure there’s toilet paper. The bathroom could use a good cleaning, mildew on the shower curtains and just not tidy. There was also a couple working out of the campground who did not vacate their (our) sites on time and were were generally combative and outright vulgar to other campers.

You left something small and expensive on the boatramp Saturday March 11th. I have it. Contact me and let me know what it is and we will get it over to you UPS. Lost and Found.

Not for the fain of heart as there’s only water, (no electricity or dumps on site). We knew this and came prepared with a generator and solar powered battery.
Beautiful park and sites are huge. Some more private than others. We camped in site 14.

I rarely give 5 stars and I almost hate to do it just because this place seems like a hidden gem, especially in FL! Very secluded, huge sites, river access with a couple loop options, and a 13 mile out and back hike that's easy but very pretty! Longest I've stayed anywhere since traveling. Host and his pooch are great too. If I show up and someone had my site I'm gonna be
