Holiday Inn Express St. Augustine - Historic

My stay at the Holiday Inn Express in St. Augustine's historic site had its pros and cons. While the property was clean and staff friendly, the rooms lacked sufficient insulation; hallway noise was noticeable. The small and open bathroom, despite having a door, posed functionality challenges. Additionally, the limited space in the breakfast area was a drawback. Despite these issues, the overall cleanliness, friendly staff, and the attractiveness of the property contribute positively to the experience.

After checking in to our first room on the first floor, we noticed that the floors and toilet were filthy and the bed half made. We switched rooms and noticed along the way the floors were dirty in all of the hallways, elevator, and second room. The sink had a dried booger on it, and the bed was still half made. The furniture does seem fairly new, but the room still feels outdated with how the walls and ceiling are all textured and painted feels very outdated still. Definitely needs some better management overlooking the cleanliness of this hotel. Also the parking lot is the smallest most cramped hotel lot I have ever been in.

Loved so far everything perfec nice room a lot space, clean i will come back definitely.

Friendly staff, close to S. Ajustin 5 mit by car passing the bridge, very clean and modern. (Appropriate breakfast to start the day.)

Room adequate, but mattresses on both beds as well as pillows were awful. I would have to say worse than any holiday inn express or IHG hotels we've stayed. Also, need to put trash can somewhere outside to put dog waste other than entrance in front of door. Staff is pleasant.

Centrally located to the best things to do or see in St. Augustine. Newly renovated rooms. Clean and comfortable.

The hotel is in a perfect location just about 6 min from Castillo and St Augustine’s historic places. Rooms are very clean seems like recently renovated and staff are very nice and polite.

Super great staff, great location to the amp. It was a super great breakfast in the morning. The rooms are super clean and up-to-date. We got in hour early before check, and they had no problem and no extra charge. We will definitely be back at this location. I highly recommend this place

No one on staff smiles but they get the job done. Provided breakfast was ok. Good variety.

We stayed a night. The room was neat, the laminate floor needed sweeping or vacuuming. It had a noticable layer of dirt. Otherwise it met our needs for a short stay.

We had to have the room keys reprogrammed to work several times. Nikki (the desk host) assisted us several times with it. She also did our initial check in. Very friendly and helpful. Later in the day she gave us towels for pool use. It would be nice if they had some available near the pool area. The pool is clean and small. There is a hot tub available. The outside rinse shower wasn't working and needs to be addressed.

Make sure you ask for a room away from the main road adjacent to the hotel. Load trucks will keep you up late if rooming road side.

Also, water seeped under our shower door creating a puddle in room 121 that I mopped up with the pool towels.

Stores and restaurants are in close proximity on and off Anastasia Island near St. Augustine.

Hot breakfast good. Location amazing. Rooms need some TLC - we had TV problems. Not always towels out by the pool.

From the start Tashay was warm and very informative. We asked 100 questions and she patiently answered them all. The housekeeper Patricia was a delight! Hardworking and kind. Will definitely be returning. Next time with my whole family.

The reception was super friendly and the staff was helpful all the time. The rooms were big enough for 2E+2K with a lot of luggage. Everything was new and clean and smells nice. The whole area, parking lot, pool, lobby, breakfast room were well maintained.
Breakfast was very good. There isn't much space in the breakfast room but we always had one. Pool to relax in between with jacuzzi also in order (ask for pool towels). Free coffee is available 24/7 (a hit). I have nothing to complain about. I'll be back.

Cute pool. Clean rooms, newly refurbished. Great free breakfast. In the middle of historic town and the beaches a great location and a great price!

The location was the only good thing this place had to offer. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a very unfriendly staff member who acted as though it was an inconvenience for her to check us in. The first night we were getting into bed and noticed one of the beds had dried vomit on the bed frame and mattress cover. Yuck! We called the front desk and they gave us the room next door. However, the new room was filled with a smell of mildew/mold and the ac was not working. We asked to just stay in the first room but have the sheets changed and bed frame cleaned. They agreed and the 2 staff members who took the time to help were literal angels! You could tell they weren’t housekeeping though, because they cleaned up the vomit with air fresher rather than cleaner. We work in hospitality and didn’t want to cause any more problems, but the ac in the room we stayed in was terrible, there was no toilet paper, and the water had a terrible smell of sulfur. The lady who checked us in, had an attitude during our entire stay and we felt like she hated being here. It made us feel uncomfortable, and we did not want to bring up any further issues with her. I wouldn’t stay here again, due to the attitude of the staff, the lack of cleanliness, and the overwhelming smell of sulfur in the water.

Kinda pricey at $119 a night and there's nothing going on in town right now. Side door wouldn't let us in so that was a little inconvenience having to walk back through the front with all of our luggage. Other than that the room wasn't too bad and overlooked the pool. Everything seemed clean and as it should be other than those 2 things! Sometimes your locals like to get a room just to get away from home which was the case tonight lol
