Hollywood Guitar Shop - Andy Green

Paid $125 to change the nut and to do a general set up of the guitar.
The new nut he put on, did not allow the guitar to tune.
If I put a capo on the first fret the guitar sounds good, but if I play without a capo, it does not tune and the chords sound off.
I complained about this to him before payment, and he told me there was no problem.
I went ahead and paid him yet when I got home for the life of me, I could not get the guitar to sound good.

His 40 years of experience wasn’t enough to to replace the nut and the guitar sounding good.
He made excuses that it was a vintage guitar, and that I couldn’t expect more from it.

I know this problem is the nut because the second I put the capo on it sounds good.

Wow! What a find! I just came off a ship in need of minor repairs and lucked out into this place. Andy and Tiara are sweethearts and everyone was so friendly and helpful! I now have a regular luthier in port and I’m telling all my friends. This is a hidden treasure!

Andy is amazing. He did the initial set up on my Fender 1961 CS and did it amazingly. I can’t believe how well this guitar is playing now. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Nicest guy and the most competent I have met in the guitar repair business. I’d recommend him without hesitation and will for sure be bringing other guitars to him. Thanks Andy!

A+ work. I can't express enough gratitude for the exceptional work that Andy did on my Gibson Les Paul. I was having trouble keeping the guitar in tune even after a few minutes of playing, which was frustrating. However, Andy's thorough setup process changed everything. He took the time to meticulously adjust and fine-tune every aspect of the guitar, and now it's like playing a brand new instrument. The strings are perfectly in tune, and I can bend them to my heart's desire without any worry. I can't thank Andy enough for his excellent work. I don’t know much about guitars aside from playing a little but I could tell I was dealing with the real deal, a couple of pros. Had a basic set up on my tele and now I can’t put it down. Will bring my other guitars to these guys

1/18/2023 - Andy is like fine wine! I bought a new bass in December. The very first thing my wife said to me as I placed the order for the bass was "you're taking it to Andy right? ! " That shows what we think of him. I took him my new bass pretty much right out of the box along with some new strings. You know, it's one thing for me to be excited about a new guitar, it's a whole nother level when Andy gets excited for you and about the guitar you bought! When I went to pick it up he couldn't wait to have me play it. The work is top notch, the guitar has a great feel, he restrung it, adjusted the action and adjusted the pickup height. You can take your guitar to any of the big box stores and the guitar techs have a job to do. Andy goes to work excited about the guitars he's going to work on. He breathes what he does and he loves what he does. It comes across in the way he treats your guitar and the way he interacts with people. He's one of the luckiest people alive.he gets up everyday to do what he loves and gets paid for it! If I owned a 100 guitars, I wouldn't let anyone other than Andy work on it.

Andy is the real deal! I took in what I thought was a so-so Ibanez bass, the poor thing was in sad shape. Andy looked at it and noticed the neck had a bow in it. He said he would see if it could be straightened out, if not, it wouldn't be worth fixing. He adjusted the truss rod and voila! Straight neck! He did a set up on it and holy cow.this thing will punch you in the face with it's tone! He's always busy but never so busy that he won't have a nice conversation with you. I'm glad he was recommended to me, no one else will work on my guitars but Andy! You're top notch Andy!

This place is a GEM! I was referred here by a friend who could not speak higher of Andy, the owner, and will not let nobody else touch his 7 guitars. Andy was very professional and treated us like family. He could not have given us a better deal and went more than the extra mile for my son’s guitar. Low stress and upfront.
