It was sad to hear in the news today about this Catholic priest from this church Father Richard Murphy and his manager Mrs. True stealing over $1.5 million from its church and parishioners over a five year period from 2015-2020. It really hurts the church and tarnishes it, a test from God they did not pass, to be tempted by the devil to steal from the people who trust and put their faith in them. It will certainly be part of the downfall of the church as a whole. This happened at another church here in this diocese a few years ago at a church either in Boca or Delray Beach, it was in the news a few years ago. Very very sad. We need to pray for Catholic priests today, they need our prayers greatly. Our Priest at St. Helen's here in Vero, Father Matthew, is no saint either, we see him at the gym most mornings here in Vero Beach and he completely ignores us, avoids us, and denies us, he knows us from church, we go to mass each week and all holy days, we have gone to confession with him and donate a lot of money to them and this diocese, and they ignore you, we have never seen a priest behave this way toward parishioners before in our lives, a priest who is so indifferent and unlike Jesus, we expect more from, Father Matt and people who are supposed to represent God. Why do they become priests, but then do not behave more like Jesus, judging, hating, ignoring, avoiding, being so indifferent to their parishioners, even and especially the marginalized. Was it just to appease little old ladies? It is sad to see today. It must pain God. It is sad to see this priest behave like the old man did to Lazarus in the parable by Jesus in Luke 16. Or just walking right by someone, like the priest did in the Good Samaritan story in the Bible. How can a priest be so indifferent? Why would you become a priest, to just then be indifferent and ignore your sheep? How can he judge someone that he doesn't even know and he is a priest? Even another priest from Colombia from this same Diocese meets men in the gym and has sex with them and does not tell them he is a priest until after. Catholic priests today need our prayers, we put our trust in them, and they continue to fail us, allowing satan to make them slaves of his, instead of passing God's tests, hurting all parishioners and the church as a whole. Please pray for the Catholic Church, the Catholic priests, and all their so called leaders that are tempted by the devil and do not pass the test of God and fall to doing all these bad things to God's good people, Jesus' wounds hurt more when He sees his church people who represent Him behave this way toward His children. Priests are supposed to be tending to their flock, not ignoring them or chasing them away. For Catholic priests to be so indifferent and hypocritical toward their parishioners is sad to see when they are supposed to be modelling Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church and Catholic priests need our prayers. Pray pray pray!
