The best dive shop/boat operator in the state of Florida and the best in the world I have used so far. The owner Dan runs an excellent business and goes above and beyond to ensure safety and customer service. He has so many awesome employees like Captains Gabe and Troy; Instructors/staff Jeff, Sam, Rick and Christina; and too many others to list. If you want to dive in the Florida keys, these guys can provide top-tier experience/instruction anywhere from open water level coral reefs to Advanced Trimix CCR wreck dives.

Best dive charter in the keys. I’ve done multiple courses with them so far and will continue to do so. The crew is very nice and professional. I was extremely impressed with how they conducted themselves even when a male “Karen” was onboard. If your ever around a Tyler Mahler, don’t listen to what he has to say. He likes to denigrate courses he never took. He also waited until the owner was off the boat to harass the crew. Total douche. But back to Horizon…. I have trusted them completely even when I am pushing my comfort zone. Dan does an excellent job of assessing skills levels and altering training programs accordingly. Chelsea did a great job with the refresher course for my wife. She left feeling confident and comfortable in her abilities because of her. Christina is probably the cheeriest, knowledgeable and nicest first mate you will ever meet. Keep up the great work.

Got back into diving this summer, Ive done two days thus far this year with them. The level of customer service is rare and that much more appreciated when you do come across it. Keep it up crews and all!

I wish I could give this dive Charter negative stars! BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS CHARTER! Took this charter out for lobster mini season and it was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent and the dive charter put me and 5 other people in alot of danger just to make sure they could make money. First day of mini season weather was bad and we were taken out in it anyways on our first dive we got to spend 20 min in the water and surfaced when the rain and lightening came waves were 7-8ft I had my daughter with me who is 11 and this was her 5 dive ever. When we got to the boat the captain and dive master were so panicked that me and the rest of the divers had to basically take control of things to get the last divers out of the water and then actually had the nerve of asking if we wanted to get back in. 2nd day of mini season the boat we were taken out in starts having engine issues. Once that was resolved we were taken to a spot for our 1st tank and we were dropped so far from the reef it took 2000 psi just to get to it and only got to spend 400 psi actually on the reef before having to surface. The 2nd tank dive was even worse, we were dropped in the sand and was told to head to the darker area we could see above the water when we did we were only able to find maybe 1ft tall grass in about 50 ft section but was told it was reef and rocks. I surfaced to get more direction from the boat and was told to go another direction just to find the same thing again nothing, I wasted a whole tank of air just trying to find the reef that nobody on the boat ended up finding. After the huge disappointment I headed to the office to speak with the owner about a refund because at this point I have paid for 4 tanks of diving and only got 3 and 2 tanks were a waste because the captain didn't drop us where he was suppose to, after I get there the front desk guy tells me the owner isn't in a takes my info down then proceeds to tell me that they were aware I was on broken boat with no working GPS but would have the owner contact me, it has been over 2 weeks and I have called multiple times and still can't get anyone to contact me. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS CHARTER!

We went with Horizon Divers after our kids recommendation from their experience last Dec, 2022. We had Matt Jones as our dive master, and he was very calm, and detail aware and encouraging. He explained, set up expectations and it was very clear what we needed to do.
Our boat captains were good, Katie Lauren (KL) was better. Super friendly and engaging. She recommended restaurants and was spot on for Snooks. We had a beautiful sunset to boot.

Poor practice. Please read all of the other 1star reviews. I agree with everything that has already been noted regarding management and operations.

Great experience diving with Horizon! Crew and boat were great! Millie was our guide for a group of 6 and was very professional. Went to the Benwood and French Reef.

Going into this dive I was nervous. I am not a fan of deep dives, or current, but really really wanted to dive the Spiegel Grove. My dive buddy and I opted to pay the additional cost to have a guide with us and I’m extremely glad we did. Christina was absolutely fantastic! She took it nice and easy going down the line and made me feel comfortable the entire dive. Not once did I question mine or my buddies safety. She explained things, checked on me multiple times and was just overall amazing. She was hands down the best dive guide I’ve ever had in FL. Absolutely recommend this operation and her as a guide. Our boat captain Gavin was also great as well! However I can’t sing Christina’s praises enough. Thank you!

I went out 2 days ago, everyone was great. Millie was an awesome guide, pointing out many great underwater features at French reef. It was a great experience, thanks guys for the awesome time.

Great experience at Horizon Divers! Dan was super flexible and helpful while trying to schedule multiple classes fitting my schedule. Hugh was an extremely knowledgable, passionate, and personable instructor. I hadn’t been diving in over 5 years, but he got me right back into it, and I learned so much from him! Couldn't imagine a better instructor.

Everyone is super friendly. Boat captains, mates, and everyone else called me by name and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great trip. Can’t think these guys enough!

My daughter and I were certified by KL. She was absolutely amazing! She was so patient, kind, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. You can’t do wrong with Horizon Divers - especially KL.

We chose Horizon Divers because of their high ratings and because they were able to offer a PADI Junior Open Water certification for our son (not all dive shops do). I can honestly say I can’t think of a way our experience could have been better!

Our tutor Christina was incredibly positive and encouraging, as well as being deeply knowledgeable about diving. Our session started with a video specifically about diving with kids so we felt in safe hands from the outset.

The pool day was long and tough! But nothing was rushed, which meant we felt 100% ready for the ocean dives on day 2 and 3. Again, everything on the boat was so professional, with multiple staff safety-checking everything.

I think we’ll be life-long customers of Horizon after this, and will certainly return to them for more dives when we’re in the Keys next.

Horizon Divers is amazing and is likely the best dive shop in Key Largo. After a horrendous experience with the local high volume dive shop (you know the name), I was advised to try Horizon. After two days and 4 dives, I can say without hesitation it is one of the best dive shops I have ever seen. With over 130 dives under my belt across the globe, that says something.

Chelsea was my guide on day one where we did two deep dives to the Spiegel. Despite strong currents, I felt very safe as the crew gave excellent pre-dive briefings. No surprises and procedures were made very clear. The boat is not overbooked and most divers were tech divers with rebreathers. In fact, James from Divers Ready joined the dive.

My second day was a reef dive with new divers and some with moderate experience. While the dive was not exciting, the crew was fantastic in its safety and provided a good experience. I was impressed as much as on the first day. Stop looking and go with this shop.
