Hot Wok, Jacksonville FL

Ordered a delivery order from the HotWok on Margaret Street in five points. The young woman who answered the phone was more than rude. She rushed my order and when I asked her to be patient with me she placed me on hold while she went and took two other orders while I'm supposedly "on hold". She comes back to the phone, saying ok what do you want? And I stated to her the rest of my order. She tells me the price and before I could get my card out she hangs up! I called back and explained that the young lady quoted me a price but never took payment. Apparently it was the same person, for they were just as rude and said, give me your card number. I gave it, the expiration date and she just said, "that's all I need" and hung up. I will not order from here anymore and stick to the one on Edgewood where the service has more patience and is more friendly. I love their food, but will not stand to be spoken to so rudely. I will gladly take my business elsewhere.

This was the most nasty place I’ve ever been to the women never washes her hands and is very rude seen her pick chick off ground and put it on some ones plate disgusting

They lady who took the order over the phone was exstemly rude. Food was ok just standard chinese for nothing special. Only great thing was that they offer delviery.

I got the house Lo mein. Only sea food in the meal is shrimp.ive had other restururants who would put crab or artificial lobester or scallops in addition to shrimp chicken and pork.

Ordered Hot and Sour Soup and Buddhist Delight via Door Dash. The Hot and Sour Soup was good but not great. Not enough hot and a bit too sour. The Buddhist Delight should be renamed Broccoli Delight as it was 95% broccoli, absolutely zero Bok Choi, zero tofu, two or three pieces each of carrots, onions, mushrooms and bell pepper. The portion size was large as others have mentioned.

PuPu platter is garbage! Everything cooked in the deep fryer. The beef sticks I can't even chew and they actually gave me chicken nuggets. I don't know if anybody's been to Boston for their Chinese food but it's so much better and different. The pic of round platter is a pu pu platter from Boston. Boston doesn't serve chicken nuggets and batter fried chicken on their platters. The yellow rice looks like it's from a Mexican restaurant. Jacksonville has zero expectations of restaurants.

I ordered the beef and broccoli lunch I started eating it and it was horrible! The "beef" which was all fat didn't look like it was cooked all the way and there was a worm or some kind of bug in my food! I took it back and got my refund!

The place isn't aesthetically pleasing. The service is poor. The food leaves a lot to be desired; mostly due to the service. Has potential, but does meet expectations.

I made the mistake of assuming that the cluttered dining room meant that the food and service must be exceptional.but that is not the case. I would be very weary to bring a child in, as they have 'adult items' on display at the checkout counter. There was an open vibrator for the whole world to see. I am unsure if there is some sort of drop-shipping business being run out of there.and maybe these are the returns?

My husband ordered an appetizer and then turned to me for my meal. When it was my turn I asked for a bourbon chicken and some fried rice. I asked if they had a combo or something becuase I wanted a full meal. There was a brief pause waiting for a response to my question. The answer never came; but she did respond eventually by repeating my order back to me. Then, my husband ordered his meal. Before he could finish talking, the woman taking our order just decided we were done and verbally cut him off with the total for the bill. I'm not going to press someone to let me spend money in their business. Plus, we don't know what kind of day she had or what.so I let it go. I was thirsty, but I didn't see a ton of drink options, and I wasn't going to fight for a potentially overpriced can of anything anyways.

I realized when we got in the car, she had made the executive descision to put "plain fried rice" on the ticket. I did not ask for that, nor would I have paid for it. I like peas and carrots and all I got was a box of starch and salt; some fiber would have been nice.especially at the price point. I can only assume that is their standard 'fried rice' now and it makes me sad. The bourbon chicken tasted more like sugary syrup than anything else. There were some bits of broccoli with the bourbon chicken, but it was mushy and I prefer a lightly steamed vegetable. The meat was a bit fatty, but was moist and tender.

The positives: The rice was properly cooked. The packaging was clean and nice. The food was nice and warm. There were 3 tables and a few chairs we were able to sit and wait for our food at. We could have eaten there (only 2 of us).

Could easily be better, but not a very good experience today.

Wow This is bad Chinese food guys, sorry to say but stay away! I ordered an orange chicken with white rice, a spring roll and a chicken noodle soup. The soup looked just, not appetizing at all. I didn’t even bother, straight to the trash. The orange chicken tasted so much like fish? Even the white rice smh, tasted old and I don’t know maybe over cooked.

Tried this place three times because it’s right by our house. Nothing we have had has been enjoyable.

My food was not good after 3 bites my food tastes like dirty dish water I had to throw my whole tray away I'm very dissatisfied and won't be trying this place again and I dont recommend anyone to go here.

I just ordered from them. They took over an hour to deliver my food. Got here and the driver gets out coughing and wiping his face with the same hand he carried the food with. I asked why he was delivering food if he’s sick, and why no mask if he was still going to work. He said he doesn’t have to. I called the restaurant to report him and the idiot that answered the phone laughed and said “we’re all healthy, but who tf is still wearing a mask? ” before hanging up in my face. They used to be our favorite but I will never order from them again. And the health department needs to pay them a visit. I will never recommend them to anyone else. Freaking pathetic. No common decency nor courtesy.

Delicious food! Mongolian chicken, rice, chicken roll, spring rolls, vegetable chow mei fun… all really good!

Excellent service.best sweet n sour chicken I've ever had and the happy family was amazing. I'd steer clear of the chicken wings though.

After ordering our food, we came across the reviews which kind of scared us. We ordered $40 worth of food and was anticipating his arrival so we could look over our food to make sure everything was correct. Delivery was fast, food was good and our order was correct. I have no complaints at all!

Best hangover cure in town. Egg drop soup with pork wontons and a side of white rice. Sweet tea to wash all of it down

Stopped here because I was cold and had the taste for a warm wonton soup. Whelp I got it, and it was completely horrid. The wontons we're stale, I could taste the "old" in them. Was the broth sitting in an old container waiting on an unsuspecting customer like myself? Cause it tasted like it. It's cold out if you're gonna sell soup at least shoot for freshness. I've horrible stomach issues eating out is a rare occurrence and then I run into THIS. Do better hot wok

Very disappointed in our food. We ordered chicken with mixed vegetables, chicken with snow pea, shrimp fried rice, pork wontons and cream cheese wontons. The food had no flavor and the chicken was tough. We didn't get the cream cheese wontons so I don't know how they would of been.

We order from here almost once a week and tonight was the absolute worst customer service. Long story short, when our food arrived it was missing the cold Sprite and sweet tea. I called to let them know and was told it'll be delivered. Fast forward to almost 2 hours later and multiple phone calls, the driver arrives with a coke and sweet tea. Mind you, the person the Sprite was for doesn't drink dark soda. The driver told us that's what I was given and just take it! Called the restaurant back just for the woman who answered to say the same thing after being told multiple times that wasn't what we ordered and want our 2 liter Sprite. She hung up on us. We called back and still the same thing. They have lost a customer and I will pass the word along!
