Hotel Eleo at the University of Florida

Rooms are fine. You can get extra towels but they do not service your room which is a bit odd for the price you pay. The rooms have hardly any daylight. Windows are small and hidden behind curtains make them a bit claustrophobic.

Wonderful hotel and staff. Beautiful rooms and amazing restaurant. Love the lake views and architecture of the hotel. Very reasonably priced for all the nice features of the hotel. Antoine in particular at the front desk was super nice and valet guys were great as well. Emily in the restaurant was very nice and had great menu suggestions of the Salmon and Pasta with excellent meat sauce. The only unfriendly person was the African American girl at the front desk with the Nose Ring. Other then that we had a 5 star experience.

Great location for both the University and the Shands medical complex. They give discounts for Shands patients with a doctor's note, so be sure to ask about it.

Overall: Beautiful, clean and quiet hotel with very polite and nice staff. But needs some easy improvements.

Rooms are spacious and modern, with the minimal amenities you would expect from it.
I only deplore the bathroom. Despite the classy Italian-style finish, it only has a shower handle with little to no pressure and no way to close the shower. So you are basically freezing the entire time you shower because water never cover you fully and there’s a constant draft coming at you. It simply does not match the standard of the room.

The restaurant is open at all times, and had very nice waiters. However that’s about all the positive things I can say about it. The food is average or worse, with the most insane prices I have yet seen in such a setting. Expect to pay $7 for a tiny chocolate croissant (they call it jumbo, yet it’s smaller than a muffin) ; not even Paris would dare such prices because it would likely spark a second French revolution. It’s simply not worth eating there, and the lack of room service does not help either. It pains me to say, but just get GrubHub at this point.

The location is greatly purposeful if you have business with the University or the Hospital. Otherwise, do not expect to be walking distance from anything interesting, or useful.

They have valet service that works relatively well. But I actually do not know if they have alternative options such as self-parking. It was not mentioned to me and there is no parking lot in sight.

The hotel is very good. The room has a lot of space, and it's not typical layout, which is nice!

Such an amazing place, call them directly for the patient rate and for a very reasonable price they will treat you like family! Such flexibility with check ins, check outs and cancellations when you are lucky enough to go home early or if you need to stay longer than expected. Nicest bathrooms of any hotel in Gainesville and even if you are not using the UF Health System, an awesome restaurant and bar and perfect location make for a great stay!

Stay Dec 24 & 25.2023Hotel Eleo is clean and quiet. The Valet service is great and free, just tip the Valet staff. The front desk are very friendly & professional. The restaurant menu it's ok. The room are very clean and comfortable bed. If you need anything have to go/call the front desk. HVAC is little noisy, but there is a noise machine to compensate. There is no luggage rack or desk in the room, there is a chair and a small table with chair attached to the coffee counter. The hotel is a good location (south side) for people visiting/appointments at the local hospitals, but for entertainment you will have to drive to the center of town. Over all was a good stay.

Overpriced. I understand market forces. Had to order microwave for room. Ordered an extra chair or one of us would have to sit on the bed. Needed help with room temperature controls and coffee pot. The staff who helped was excellent and very patient. Overall meh.

Covey restaurant. Was wonderful! Live jazz trio was very talented and set a great mood! Celebration!

The staff that worked late 12/14 to midday 12/15 were wonderful. I booked this hotel as it was close to the hospital. Each staff member was extremely kind and accommodating. The 4 hour hour power nap I took was like sleeping on a cloud - extremely soft and comfortable linen. I am very thankful for the convenience, cleanliness and comfort of this hotel. Thanks!

This may be my new favorite hotel in Gainesville. I received a promotional rate so I decided to try it. I wasn’t a fan of valet parking because I prefer to take my time and get all of my items ready but the staff was very helpful and let me take my time. Valet parking is free of charge. When I opened the door to my room I was excited to see the full wall of windows overlooking the water feature. The room was modern, clean and well arranged. Everything was perfect with the exception of two things. The lighting in the bathroom was dim which was difficult for putting on makeup but this may have more to do with my vision. The other thing was that there was a refrigerator but no microwave. I asked at the front desk before leaving and was told that microwaves are available on request. Overall is was a great stay.

Great location and probably the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. The entire Hotel smelled clean and the room was no different. Comfortable bed and linens with actual pillows not flat fabric!

It has the best Restuarant with a view in Gainesville. Food is high quality with reasonable selection. Service is great.

Wonderful hotel located near Shands at UF.
Great place to stay if you have a loved one at Shands. Nice restaurant located inside with delicious food. Very secure rooms with a key necessary to work the elevators so only guest can access rooms.

My stay at Hotel Eleo was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had while traveling, especially recently. Unfortunately, I only stayed one night while in town for a conference at UF so I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy all of the amenities available.

My room was absolutely gorgeous and so incredibly peaceful. The hotel designers succeeded in creating a space that truly felt like a sanctuary. The bed was very comfortable and the room was super quiet. The bathroom was huge with good lighting and L’Occitane toiletries. The Nespresso machine in the room was a really nice touch too.

There were a few very minor areas for improvement - the shower pressure and temperature could have been better and the valets seemed a bit overwhelmed, though they were very nice. Overall, I had an amazing experience and highly recommend this hotel. I don’t know if I’ll find myself in Gainesville again in the future, but if I do return, I will absolutely be staying at Hotel Eleo.
