Houston's, North Miami Beach FL

Food was good, I felt that they are under staffed and the waiters are rushing everything and everyone in the place. Is crushed ice a big ask? Thought that was funny.

Food is good. Drinks take forever to get to your table. Don't go after 9: 30 because they run out of stuff on the menu, and then it kills your entire vibe when it is a dish you have been craving. Also check your receipt, because they might forget to take off the dish that they didn't have. 3rd time is a charm. I always expected this place to be better than what it's portrayed to be. Smith and Wollensky has way better service.

The food was good and the waitress was very nice however they need to hire new hostesses. First impressions can ruin a business.

Nice atmosphere, always busy, reservations strongly suggested.

I had been wanting to come to Houston’s for about a year now and Mother’s Day and Father’s Day had wait times of 2 plus hours (didn’t bother waiting), so now time to try again and celebrate my husbands birthday.

Walk in only for parties of 5 or more. Come early for walk ins 5 pm to avoid a long wait time. On a Wednesday night at 6: 20 we had an hour wait time.

The outside has a beautiful path made for the restaurant and it has speakers playing nice jazz music and the view is of the lake, just peaceful fresh air.

We sat down and not many words spoken from the waiter we ordered spinach artichoke dip and the grilled artichokes to start. They told us they didn’t have any artichokes left. We ordered the tostones with a spicy remoulade (mayo sauce not spicy) I don’t remember seeing tostones on the menu here but they were good! It came four in the order.

The spinach artichoke dip was a disappointment this time as there was not much artichoke but a few tiny bits. Seems to have less cheese than I remember and the taste was not incredible.

The ribs are fall off the bone and the shoestring fries and so yummy! Reminds me of a fancy McD’s.

The roasted half chicken had a caramelized apricot jam on top and chose tabbouli to go with it. A huge portion of food.

I got the cheeseburger. It has a brioche bun and used to have layers of shredded cheese and now had a slice of melted cheese on it instead. The burger was still delish but I do like the shredded cheese much better. I love the char flavor from the wood fired oven.

My husband got the Hawaiian Ribeye and came with a fully baked potato. The ribeye is perfect and the char delish! I strongly recommend the Ribeye and it will make anyone happy.

For dessert we chose a brownie. Comes warm and full of walnuts and tasted freshly baked. The brownie is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce on top. The dessert was nothing short of divine. They had a candle for my husbands birthday and also comped the dessert which was nice.

I had a word with the manager who was young, squirly, all over the place and let him know about the less than par experience I had. First off I don’t think he cared much as they are so so busy here no matter what. The manager told me the staff isn’t really supposed to talk? Lol I was taken back as when I said “thank you” for all the times I had my water glass filled at dinner -only one person responded back to me with a “your welcome”.
The staff reflects the management that’s all I have to say.

I recommend the Boca or Pompano beach location for a better Houston’s/ Hillstones experience. I’m skipping this spot for a year or so.

Always a great spot to eat if you can get I without a 2 to 3 hour wait to be seated but that's not their fault, that just means they are in demand and folks wanna dine there. It's worth it if you decide to wait and nice ambiance. Food and drinks are akways on point.

We sat at the bar, the bartender forgot to take her happy pill that day. The food is good, but the price point and service do not make up for it.

Steak ribs fish and chicken is amazing try the spinach dip its really good one of the best I ever had nice bar nice outside seating for smokers please make reservation.

They don’t have a full bar and I don’t understand why it’s always so busy. The menu is very limited too. I would rather go to J Alexander’s.

Houston's can be a bit crowded but with good reason this is my fiancé's fave restaurant and one of mine as well always exceptional service and the food is always prepare to a T cocktails and drinks always made well. Great spot for a date night with a nice ambiance!

I have been a regular client to Houston’s from 2008; unfortunately service became rude and unprofessional, drink menu has changed ; they no longer willing to serve you just surviving on high amount of clientele. Not coming back anymore. Many other restaurants to try out. Done!

If I could give zero stars….
Thursday 5: 30 - my husband and I were in Aventura and called to ask availability. Hostess said there was no wait for a table for us.
Arrived in 10 min and was told it would be an hour and 15 min!
There were empty tables and 2 groups of people waiting. Should I also say that three groups of people left as we were walking in? !?
Never coming back again!

So this has to be maybe the second or third poor review I've written and it's for the most part referring to the reservation system or lack of with this restaurant! I for the most part always use open table or the restaurants website on the rare occasions I walk in and would just appreciate if you are upfront on wait times NO ONE WOULD WAIT A HOUR IF YOU TOLD THEM THAT UPFRONT! Food, service and ambitious are always excellent!

The restaurant drinks and food were good, but the only problem is they tell you that they accept walk-in and the wait time is ridiculous. I'm writing my experience. We got there super excited because we waited to eat at this restaurant for a long time because of the COVID19 situation. They told us one hour and 20 minutes for a table. We waited, after an hour and 20 minutes we asked the hostess how much longer we have to wait, they told us another 35 minutes. We waited another 35 minutes, we asked again, and they said we have to wait because we have three before us with an attitude. We were already upset, and we didn't get to enjoy our dinner. We spent so much money on a night that was supposed to be pleasant for us to celebrate our anniversary. This place shouldn't allow walk-ins because they only make the people that have reservations upset and walk-ins. And on top of that for the money they charge for a steak they should give bread and better dessert selection. We can have the same food at Longhorn for less price. I was expecting more.

Be aware if the bartender doesnt like your type she ll tell you there is a wait list for the bar and male you stand up while keeping the seat empty for someone she likes
