Very disappointed came in with 6 others and asked for a table for 7 outdoors and was told they don't that and then i said what about indoors and again was told no they only accommodat parties of 5 or less we told them we'd split the party and take 2 tables and we were still deniedI believe they were stereotypinge

Food is very good and always fresh. They charge a bit more than usual for being on the water way, and I wish it was a little less or else I’d go more - certainly a treat and always great atmosphere!

I've been wanting to write a review of Houston's for a while and I'm finally going to take the time to do it. I feel so compelled based on the level of service from our last two visits.
I am not going to review the food just the service.
My wife and I have been dining at Houston's since the late 80s. One of our first experiences at Houston's was at their Boca location. My wife was pregnant with our first child and halfway through our meal she became very nauseous, so she went to the car for 10 to 15 minutes. When she didn't come back in, I went out to see how she was. She told me, I can't go back in I'm not feeling that well. So I went back in to pay for the meal and the manager said absolutely not we've got you covered, go take care of your wife. Since that day we been dining at Houston's ever sence.
Houston's a model restaurant example of how professional and courteous a dining experience can be. They truly have training down to a science. From the moment you approach the restaurant, the valets attendants smile and are courteous, and hold the door open as you enter. The girl at the front desk is smiling and very professional. After taking your name, they don't give you a beeper they come find you based on the notes taken when you check-in. We have dined at the Fort Lauderdale location that is now closed, and currently dine at the Pompano Beach location, since opening day. While waiting for a table, you can sit out by the intercoastal, or have have a drink from one of there two bars. I sometimes enjoy watching the chef prepare meals on the grill. Even the chef on the grill is kind and courteous! Years ago when our children were young, they would stand with me and watch the chef on the grill, and he bring them a basket of fries while we stood and watched him cook.
I can go on and on with the level of service, cleanliness, professionalism. It's increadable to me how a company can be so consistent to its main focus for over 30 years. Our #1 restaurant has been the California Grill at the top Disney's Contemporary Resort for 15 years, but in the last few years Houston's has been raised to our number one! The California Grill changed its focus over the years and is now allowing the patrons to ignore the dress code, and pretty much overrun the restaurant with children running around, which use to never happen. It was one of the few places on Disney property you could go and have a truly peaceful meal. In comparison, Houston's was faced with the same challenge of boaters docking at their dock, coming in and eating in beach coverups, and patronizing other restaurants next-door. So, from my perspective, and to stay true to their focus, I feel is a reason why they closed their dock down, which I see is a very bold move to maintain their level of professionalism and courteousness.

Great job to the best of the best, Houston's.

After 30 years I don't have to say keep up the great work, it's already been proven this company knows what they doing. Thanks so much for providing a truely fantastic experience for all these years. And most recently, thanks to Luke for making our most recent experience a really fun time, and treating us with the level of service that we have come to expect.

I was expecting so much from this restaurant, but left a bit disappointed.
Was there to celebrate my birthday and the experience did not impress.
Food was good, but that was about it.

Complimentary valet parking. When you walk in the hostess station on the left to check in.
If you want to sit outside you have to check in with the hostess outside.
We saw barstools open at the outside bar and we were told you have to have reservations to sit at the bar inside or out during holidays only.
Outside Hostess came and told us there was a table inside BUT, hubby had to remove his hat. That’s a policy always.

But then we were called for seats at bar.
Eme was very busy but acknowledges that we were there which is a nice touch. She was very professional she told us they would transfer check and sh pick our glasses up to take to table old school. Had to tip her.if we wanted to sit inside you have to remove your hat the gentleman.

I had a premium cosmopolitan. For food I had the quartered artichoke meh. Hubby had the crunchy fried chicken sandwich which had kale very crunch. It’s cut on thirds. Nice size sandwich. Came with ff.
OF course great view. At outside bar there’s mirrors (look up behind bar) so you can see the ICW.

Tried to go with 5 people and was told “they don’t accommodate 5 people! ” Kind of crazy if you have a family of 5 you can’t go to this restaurant.

Drove 45 min to try their ribeye or filet but they ran out of both. Ended up having ribs and spinach dip. Tasted like regular chain food.

We frequent this restaurant. 2-3 times week and spend about $600-$700 dollars a week. Tonight we go in sit at the bar and we are enjoying ourselves. We order some chips and salsa and do what we do every week. Tonight we don’t eat and after 5 drinks we are told that we have reached the maximum drinks allowed without eating? Never have we had this happen ever and we live here in pompano beach. The tall smug manager came over to give me my credit card back after a $146.00 bill. The bartenders who we know Nichole and just met Shawn can’t even do the duty. Completely disgusted. Will never go back and I highly recommend anyone that does visit you ask questions before you sit because for sure they will ask you to leave if you do not eat. Terrible and they should be ashamed.

Just not the same and sad to say it. Went a couple of weeks ago and sat outside. We continued ordering.cocktails, a bottle of wine, dessert.but it did not matter. All that mattered was to bum rush you out the door and not once were we told there's a time limit on a table-especially after waiting 40 minutes to be seated. I've been going to Houston's for years in Miami and Broward but the bloom is off the rose in Pompano and I will not visit this location again. Hoping the Aventura location will be a better, albeit further, experience some time in the future.

Iys been about a year since we visited this location. There's new crew and horrible service. Reservation for 9: 15pm didn't get sitted til 10.35pm we were told, "give me a couple of minutes. " more like 1.5 hr.
Totally disappointed and we weren't acknowledged about the service and delay. Plenty of opened tables around.let me not forget everything we ordered was not available, sold out. So we ended up with 3rd choice items we didn't want to start with. Yet, we paid premium price for food we didn't want.
We can't believe abd are disappointed of the terrible service we got tonight HOUSTON'S pompano.

Jerome is outstanding on service and delivery. He pays attention to every detail and his customer service skills are impeccable.i highly reccomend coming to this restaurant when u r looking for that special night. However, u must ask for Jerome. He will accomodate any special request.i came for my finance's birthday and he made it super special.

Have to say that i love Huston's, come here with my dad for a couple of Martinez that always come on time, the stake is wonderful and our server always keep us great with her or sometimes his attention, love coming here, i rather park in the back since the Valet guys barely know how to drive stick, but is okay, i be back, no problem's,

Very disappointing experience last night at Houston's Pompano Beach.
Wait staff was inexperienced and inattentive. We ordered $80 bottle of wine and our server never walked up to our table, not even once to pour wine in our cheap steam wear. Glasses looked like they were bought in a dollar store. Ribeye steak that I ordered was on special for $48 dollars came overcooked.
I had to wait 20 min.for them to remake it, while my friends dinner was getting cold while she was waiting for me. Not what I expect from a restaurant that charges these kind of prices.

I have gone to Houston’s pompano several times. I have to say they have great food and environment, but ver BAD service with regular and non regular clients. For example today, we ate lunch, we ordered several things, and after that we wanted to have dessert outside in the deck. We went outside and the waitress as soon as she took our order of coffee and dessert, had a very mad and disappointed face, she was only thinking of her tip. Then came the hostess to tell us we could not spent long time there because it was only to eat, and we had already eaten inside! That was of very bad taste.
