Howard B. Jackson, M.D., Tampa FL

Wow, I’ve seen a lot of physicians for my low back pain. This is a first: I waited TWO HOURS to see Dr. Jackson for a procedure consultation. After signing in at 10: 33 am, a tech walks me back to an exam room 30 minutes after my appointment time. Then, after he leaves, I just sit there, without any updates from staff, for 1 hour. Then his PA enters to prep for Jackson and leaves. After another twenty minutes, Offering no apology for the wait, the ‘almighty’ Dr. Jackson finally enters my exam room, sticks his hand out, and I refuse it (just met the guy and it’s been two hours!) Immediately in response, he storms out of the room and saying “you can leave. I’m not going to preform a procedure on someone who won’t shake my hand. ” He angrily struts back to his office announcing “no charge, no charge” to his staff. Wow, refused care after two hours of waiting and no apology, because I didn’t want to shake his hand. Lose, lose situation, but I’m not sure I’d want to get diagnostic injections from such a loose cannon anyway. And there’s a better way to go about it. But talk about poor bedside manner and lack of professionalism from a board-certified physician. Get over yourself! What a joke.

Professional staff, very informative, Dr and assistants will take their time with you and make sure you understand everything. Not rushed and very little wait time.

Very detailed thorough examination. Prepared for visit by reviewing my records prior to entering room. Great teaching on why my spine is deteriorating causing pain and how I can work with him (Dr. Jackson) to help slow things down. Yes, as a patient you will have work to do if you want to get better and live a healthier life without pain.

Such a wonderful experience which is unique for a doctor. Dr. Jackson took so much time to explain the treatment plan for my husband. He is also incredibly smart and kind.

This was my second scheduled appointment to see Dr. Jackson however, I was not able to actually see Dr. Jackson on either of my visits. I did see a physicians assistant who was very nice. However, on my second visit, I did ask to see Dr. Jackson himself. I was left in the examination room for approximately 20 minutes after the consultation with the physicians assistant. I was told Dr. Jackson would be “right in” but he never showed up, so I left. I am 65 years old, I’ve seen dozens of doctors over the course of my life, and I have never had an appointment with a doctor in my life and not actually seen the doctor. This now makes two appointments I paid for to see the doctor and didn’t actually see him. This is no way to treat a patient/paying customer.

I really enjoy seeing my doctor's here at the Orthopedic Institute on Dale Mabry. The water fall makes my visit so calming. The Doctors take time to listens to you. You really need for a doctor to take the pain your body is going through seriously and they do.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Jackson! After well over a month of sciatic misery and attempting self treatment and chiropractic care, I presented to FL Ortho Spine. I was immediately referred for and X-ray & MRI which was then followed by a transforaminal epidural steroid injection performed by Dr. Jackson. I am feeling like a million bucks.then next steps are physical therapy to help fix my herniated disc and keep me feeling good. I'm so glad I found Dr. Jackson to treat my back pain and feel comfort in knowing if it ever comes back, I have a trusted physician on my side.

Deborah Sauls was terrific. She understood my situation perfectly, and prescribed two simple physical therapy procedures, that should relieve the pain caused by trying to walk 1/4 mile. I have already received a telephone call from physical therapy, and set up an appointment for this Friday.
