Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa reviews
15Nice, clean, pretty view, extremely convenient. Our breakfasts were free and delicious. Rooms were not luxe, but nice. Staff was courteous and helpful.
I directly booked our room 2 months in advance for our arrival Feb. 18 2021 and spoke with a representative at the resort, not thru a booking service.
We received a confirmation email stating our arrival & our room will have 2 queen beds, not what I booked 2 months prior. I called immediately and spoke with a representative who said it would be corrected.
We arrived late due to weather issues and checked in. Our room was in disrepair, plugs didn't work, ports did not charge our phones light fixtures were loose and crooked on the wall and our room had 2 queen uncomfortable beds.
We paid 869.00 dollars for a substandard room did not receive was we booked, asked for, or what was of a big ticket room value. Also, we were told we had a 'partial ocean view as an upgrade, not was not a partial ocean view. This is ridiculous and not worthy of my hard earned money. This was a 250.00 room not upwards of 869.00 with taxes and resort fees. NO THANKS. Will not be using Hyatt in the future. This was a joke.
Proper, a bit dated! The place doesn’t really justify it’s pricetag I feel, I wouldn’t rate it more then 3,5/5. However the jetski’s and sailing/snorkeling option (with a company called Floriday’s) at the back of the hotel are great.
Excellent. Went during September (during Covid) and the prices were very reasonable. Service was good. I was very happy with the Covid protocols. The huge draw is the beach areas - they are all tiny, and more of a sand box that goes up to the boulders that for the seawall. There are steps down to a wading depth area, and a small raft. Order poolside fare to our beach chairs (first come first serve) which was great. Also ate dinner at sunset in the formal restaurant which was also good.
Another beautiful tranquil Hyatt property that should be on your list. It comes with a small private beach access that has a cute floating deck and just enough loungers next to the beach and swimming pool to get your perfect tan. The rooms are spacious, modern in design and most come with an ocean view. Their restaurant SHOR has beautiful views. The portion size of their smoked salmon dish for breakfast was humongous! Their employees were barely noticeable on the property and had exceptional customer service skills.
I am very satisfied with this hotel. The room was clean and classy. Attention to detail and large bathroom made it very comfortable in the room. A decent sized pool and foosball nearby. No beach access when I was there, this hotel is best for relaxing after sightseeing or exploring Key West.
Beautiful resort and the bluest of waters swing set was our favorite seat and the food was the best we loved the shore restaurant and the food from the bar and drinks!
I *really* needed some Key West, and the Centric delivered. The front desk staff were *AMAZING* even by Hyatt standards, helpful from start to finish including changing the reservation when I discovered an unplanned flight change. The location is very good (see separate glowing review of A&B Lobster House next door), easily walkable to the best stuff in town. The pool & hot tub were good (even though the jacuzzi was large, I didn't get as much time as I'd have liked because of proximity to others in covid time).
The rooms are a little dated, and aren't quite maintained to what I'd call Hyatt standard (eg.sofa quality, a couple blinds not operating, etc.). But when you're in Key West, you can overlook some of that because, hey, it's *Key West*.
The hotel is not too crowded but far from empty. Actually just right for our party of 8. The staff is very friendly from the front desk to the bartenders. We had very good service throughout.
Pretty good resort with great service on the ocean front. I would say the rooms are a bit antiquated for a category 5 or 6 hotel but it does have a great location on the island very close to many shops and restaurants.
This Hyatt resort is in an excellent location; right off Front street. You’re at the North end where I find much more pleasant with more options nearby. Mallory Square is pretty close for the sunsets and outdoor performers, and so is famous Duval Street, where cool bars like Sloppy Joes are only a 10 minute walk. There’s also Greene street with a bunch of cool shops and a nice harbor to have a drink at.
The Hyatt resort itself is quite large, with a man-made beach, pool, restaurants and bars. You can really sit back and relax here, with a beautiful view of the Gulf. There is access to the water, but it looked a little dangerous to take a step down to it from the rocks.
Staff here are very friendly. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with a smile.
Our room was quite large with a nice big Kind Bed and huge HD TV. The bathroom was beautiful with a large walk-in shower offering high quality soap, shampoo, etc.
There was a small patio with a view of the water which was nice. We were in building #3, on the west end.
You really can’t go wrong staying here; highly recommended!
Quiet side of town,
Rooms could use some updating.
The AC struggles, and the fridge is lukewarm, but the view is fantastic and it is close to many restaurants.
Rooms were nice just didn’t like sliding non locking bathroom door. Location was excellent not to far away from the action and what a beautiful view from the balcony. Went fishing early one morning came back with our catch went up to the bar and they were more then willing to fry up our fresh catch.
UNCLEAN WITH ROACH ISSUES IN THE TOOM. AlDO, BE AWARE COVID PREVENTION SANITIZATION IS NOT ADHERED TO ESPECIALLY AT THE BAR, NO ONE SANITIZES OR WIPES DOWN OR CLEANS THE TABLES. THIS WAS A RECURRENT ISSUE, FOR EXAMPLE WE ASKED MEGHAN THE BAR WAITRESS TO WIPE DOWN A TABLE FOR US WITH SANITIZER SHE SEEMED TO BE
BOTHERED BY OUT REQUEST, NOW PLEASE UNDERSTAND ONLY ONE OTHER COUPLE WAS IN THE ENTIRE BAR AREA. THIS REPRESENT POOR MGMT TRAINING AND LAZINESS.
HOTEL LOCATION IS EXCELLENT

Starting with the pros, it is close to Duvall and Front Streets where all the shops, bars, restaurants and other activities are. So a car would not even be necessary. Not a fan of the big wheeled bicycles, I'd just as soon walk, or even crawl for that matter. I think full ocean (inlet) view is available if you make reservations well in advance. Had some room service issues, a few of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly so not knocking entire staff over a couple of bad apples. Rooms do not have microwaves, bigger then an run of the mill hotel room, but would prefer a suite. Don't come to KW for a beachfront, they will have a sandbox at best, that's just the nature of KW ecosystem. Overpriced especially when you add the resort fee, but KW is pretty much a shakedown city anyway.
