Restaurant IL Mulino reviews
20The atmosphere was fantastic, the food was mediocre, the service was terrible. Watch the bill, they add gratuity for you!
I've been a patron of over 30 years. Seen mgt.go through the changes. Still a classy hot spot for romance. But! Not that the $18 Martinies were that special, I was extremely embarrassed needing to spit out inedible chunks of my dinner. At what point does the Chef decide this Veal shal pass. Sorry, never again.
Food was amazing. Wine was great. Our server was so nice. Wasn’t very attentive at the end and had to hunt him down to find our check.
The 4 of us had exceptional dinner in this wonderful resturaunt last night and Luke our waiter made it perfect. My sister in law who was born in Italy said the food was like being back there.
The interior is beautiful!
We will be going back very soon. This is a great choice for Fort Lauderdale's best Italian resturaunt!
Such a romantic atmosphere. Great staff and they made some great recommendations for wines. I had the garlic bread, Cesar salad (appetizer), potato gnocchi in pink sauce (main dish), and one glass of red wine, one glass of white wine. Everything was phenomenal I would highly recommend.
Food went downhill. The clams and mussels was a joke! Would not recommend anymore. Used to be my favorite place not anymore no disappointment!
We had a very nice server Patrick, and a very fast dinner! But the Ceasar was good as well as the bolognese the only thing I don't get is charging $4.50 for an ice tea! No sense in that
Food is outstanding with everything down to the drinks being absolutely gourmet. I recommend getting the Anneli with tortellini, that is if you don’t already have a favorite order
Update: after all these years we had a bad experience. A live roach went walking past our table. The server killed it and then cleaned it up with a cloth napkins. We canceled our order. They didn’t charge us since our food hadn’t arrived and they didn’t question it but I’m too grossed out now to try it again. What a shame. This was one of our favorites.
Previous review: I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad experience here. The servers are amongst the best.
VERY GOOD! MUST TRY. Every thing we ordered tasted 10/10. Meatball and burrata appetizers. Lasagna & chicken parm meals. Very very pleased. Will return.
My wife and I went here for a date night on a Friday and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy, and for being in a pretty busy area, parking was very easy and accessible.
The highlight was definitely the food. Everything we had was exceptional! It was prepared well and came out really quickly. I personally had the Ossobuco over rigatoni and is was absolutely DELICIOUS. The meat fell of the bone and was so juicy and tender. It was a special but was very reasonable priced, and I would recommend it to anyone.
The service was also really good. We had Bobby who was kind, efficient and knowledge. He gave us some great recommendations for pastas and they did not disappoint. We will definitely be returning to try some new dishes in the near future. We also were given a coupon because we are locals to come back for a free appetizer, drink, or dessert, so that was a pleasant surprise!
This is a sad day, I been eating here for almost 30 years and never had a bad meal and today it was very average… The staff informed me that there have been some changes and they are hearing my sentiments from other customers…
Best Italian food & service in three county area. My favorite!

Visited on 5/18/23. Horrible changes! Prices insane (2 tablespoons of extra sakad dressing costs $3)! Eddie, the current mgr didn't solve problem with Eugene (not his real name as per check) the server. He just stood at our table whining about how hard it is to get & keep good staff. He said the dishwasher gets $11.59/ hr. & wants $25/hr. So as a loyal customer since the late '80s, I just had to deal with it.
Server was rude, seemed dazed & confused. Simple requests ("please can I have some napkins") were ignored & required repetition. Homemade pasta had no flavor, marinara sauce tasted like it came out of a jar from Publix. The garlic rolls were cold & not fully baked. And we were only allowed 2 & had I not asked for some (they've always been the best in S. Florida) they would not have been served. The house salad was not fresh & crispy plus it was mostly onion slices. What a horrible turn! Was going to email the owner first, but had to update this. It was a special night & I looked forward to a dinner at what was my favorite restaurant. What an expensive disappointment! I asked for tea at the end, chose which from a limited collection brought by same awful server. He brought less than half a cup of hot water and the wrong sweetener. I asked why he didn't listen when he asked for my choice and he had a Gen Z tantrum, saying "I don't have to take this from you. " I had to say, "And I don't have to take that from you. Please don't return to my table. " It required an adult server to get the sweetener, more hot water & the check. The owner needs to take care of her business before it closes. It survived Covid because of all of us who are loyal, year-round regulars, but lousy service, low end pasta & salads costing $85.00 is beyond the pale!
We came in to try a lunch time visit as we've always come in for dinner. There was a smaller crowd at the time we came in, so there was no wait to be seated. The service was friendly and prompt and our food as delicious as always. I had ordered the potato Gnocchi from the lunch menu which was excellent. I've always eaten it with a cream sauce but the lunch portion is served in a mushroom-base sauce with bits of sausage. I definitely recommend it if you're undecided but don't want a big meal. The lunch pricing is very reasonable.
Ordered thru Uber Eats and I have to say everything was amazing! It’s not often you order from a restaurant and everything tastes awesome. I would definitely give this place two thumbs up.
Not being from the Ft. Lauderdale area I had gone to IL Mulino on a whim.
I found this Italian restaurant to be a true gem. In a busy city where parking is tight IL Mulino had an available large and safe attached parking lot. The staff was also very professional and attentive to all their customers. The menu as well as the quality food was excellent. I truly enjoyed my meal and highly recommend the Pork shank Osso Buco Special for those looking for a full hearty meal. Next time I’m in town I will definitely go back!
This was my favorite restaurant to come as a child but I rarely stop in when I’m in town because of the quality of the chicken is becoming worse. I thought the sauce/seasoning was pretty good. On my last trip here, my gf had a difference dish and complained about the quality before I had mentioned it so I know it’s not only me. In my opinion I think it’s a decent restaurant but for the price I believe there are several other restaurants I would choose over this one.
LOVE this place! I usually dine alone, but am always made to feel welcome by Lisa or Crystal at the bar. Wonderful service, and the food is delicious. You really can taste the homemade difference. I absolutely feel like family when I come here, and always leave with leftovers of their great food. Highly reccomend!
I got my il Mulinos fix - hadnt been there in months and they didnt disspoint. Veal parm. Great! Zuppa de pesce another yummy choice. Prices have gone up quite a bit so we dont go as often as we'd like sp its a treat when we do. Keep up the goodness IL Mulino and thanks for another great experience
So sad, Il Mulino was one of my favorite places. Im a local so we would go every single week.
But they changed the chef and the best dishes have went out the door:
First of all, the new chef is rude, he refuses to make minor changes to the dishes like “no this or that” or “extra that” Ok be snooty but then your food better be excellent. And it was disappointing. The seafood risotto was soooo undercooked and the seafood was super gritty. They also serving smaller portions for a higher price.
I feel bad because in general the staff is so wonderful, but now the food isnt good and idk if we will be back again: (
