I really like this one. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. If you join Friends of the library you get discounts on the gift shop which is small but always has something you didn't know you needed or would find anywhere else. Besides that, the not only offer classes and movies for children but adults also. So check this place out and enjoy! Just something I saw at check out and think I might enjoy.

I came to the library to look up a newspaper article from over 20 years ago. Chelsea, in reference, was extremely helpful and found the article immediately

I enjoy going to the main library in Vero Beach. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I like the fact that they have a gift shop and they also sell used books outside of the gift shop, usually for a dollar each. Their hours are good and they have a lot of activities going on. I go online to choose books that I would like to read. The problem is that many times, for the more popular books, there might only be one or two copies and you have to wait several months in order to obtain it. And I often find that there are titles that aren't even available, and then you have to make a special written request in order for them to purchase the book.
I believe, especially if a book is on the New York Times bestseller list, that they should have maybe three to five copies of that book, so that you do not have to wait up to six months in order to obtain a copy to read. By that time, you might have lost your interest in even reading the book. Another issue that I have, is that many titles are e-books and not books that you can hold in your hand. There are many people like myself, who prefer to hold a book in their hands and not read it off a screen.

Having said all that, I am grateful for the library system that we have in Vero Beach.

Very nice library with a multitude of resources! There is a very large children's section with an activities area. This library is huge! Upstairs has several computers, study desks, tables and even secluded and isolated individual computer rooms. They have many magazines, news papers, micro films, slide projectors, public records, DVD's, CD's and much much more! Excellent spot for folks of all ages.

Great shopping at the little store when you enter, and marvelous deals on discarded books. Convenient restrooms. Many activities throughout the week. A fine example of what a library should be!
