This is our family vet. Dr Matt is great! Smart and compassionate. Gets to the point right away, which I really appreciate! Offers all the options and proceeds to address the problem. Don't know what I would do without him and his awesome crew! Very friendly and caring bunch of experienced animal health care providers! Love this place!

They make me feel comfortable leaving my fur baby to be treated… always explaining any process or medicine. The girls and doctors are wonderful

This place is straight from Heaven. In an era where a patient is a transaction it’s extremely refreshing to find someone that actually cares. I can’t begin to express why I would recommend this place to anyone with a pet.
Compassionate, understanding and willing to help. In between the office manager, the vet tech and the actual veterinarian, I’ve had unimaginable service with such courtesy and respect. I drove a whole hour for my pet to come here and I will gladly do it again. I think I’ve found my forever vet. You guys are amazing. Keep up the great work!

IRB animal hospital lead by Dr Matt have cared for all of my dogs since 2008. My first dog lived to be 16 and I recently lost my dog of almost 19 years. Dr Matt is one of the most knowledgeable veterinarians I have ever known. The staff led by CC, Nicole, and Kiki are the most caring group who have helped me and my pets for years. They recently came to my house to say goodbye to my Ziggy and while it was difficult it was also beautiful, caring, and thoughtful. I highly recommend this team for anyone who loves their animals.

I recently got a German Shepherd puppy and this animal hospital has helped me to take such good care of her! I love the Doctor, he is so attentive and informative. And CC is such a joy to be greeted by when you walk through the doors! I look forward to going back each time my pup has an appointment. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

Wowsies! Cecilia and Nicole are phenomenal! Yoyo hates vets! Cat issues, who knows. They let him calm down in such a loving way and did a great job on taking care of him! This is my Vet for now on! Very clean and welcoming and even had some donations that they were giving away because they just couldn't give anymore to the shelters! It definitely feels like you're walking into someone else's home helping you with your fur baby.

***Owner/vet Matt reached out almost immediately after seeing my 1 star review, explaining he had been out of town and used a service had no knowledge of our situation or 2 visits in 10 days. I questioned never getting a call about our Egmont until this review which he looked up in his book and explained different color code system & not sure why we haven't gotten calls but would look into. I questioned how none of this had been caught during quarantine & shots and he explained he only sees pups for about 2 hrs & does this free in hopes of gaining future business. I explained was told insurance was not applicable & he said it was since he was the insurance.but no compensation for vet bills with 2 visits there or to our Vet. Matt claimed he had never had his hands on this dog & would need to see him but if still issues he would be covered. He attempted to explain not his doing but as I pointed out he had seen this dog on 2 occasions for shots while at petland and he is responsible for covering Vet he uses as well as his office not following up. Also Matt expressed my review was unfair however as I pointed out it is considering its his office, his staff and his responsibilities to his 4 legged patients when he is providing services at a pet store even if kids cleaning the cages don't realize pups are having issues that we noticed almost immediately upon getting home 7pm that Egmont was having an issue & why we took he immediately to the vet the very next day which circles back to how our we out of warranty when Egmont had 2 vists are Indian Rocks Beach Animal Hospital! Matt sounded very confident in his services but make sure he is there and not a service temp Vet. In addition he pointed out he could tell if a UTI (ph levels) due to diet or something else.
Considering we use Dr Godfrey who is the founder if CFAVM and on the FVMA Veterinary Tech Committee I know where we will continue going for both of our lil boys!

We purchased a havanaesse for almost $6k and took him to this vet the very next day as per purchase agreement. Explained he had peed 5x while we were visiting him and told by vet it was excitement probably also mentioned drinking ALOT and coughing some. Vet said should clear up as new environment & puppies drink alot. Took him to mext appointment mentioned same issues but now kinda grunts hummph when you pick him up & vomited & ear issue VET again says same & sends us home w/ almost 200 bill for meds we could of bought on chewy over the counter! He pretend to listen to his lungs but did not put sthescope on our dog nor attempted to close his month
to listen and sends us on our way with ear drops & meds. Notice no improvement get vet appmnt to another reputable Vet & they are extremely concerned & finds he has crystals in his urine at 3 months old as well as respiratory infection (another almost $600). When getting orginal vet notes see he wrote HEALTHY on both visits! Reached out about insurance and MOSTLY THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE VET WE HAD TO TAKE HIM TOO to be told because it took 16 days he is not under warranty! Be very very leary of this location and most definitely the vet they use there. I can't help but wonder if we had not purchased this puppy would he ever had gotten the necessary care he needed or would he have been in excruciating pain & eventually DIED because of who they deal with!
IN ADDITION WE DID HONOR THE 14 DAY PERIOD.he had 2 visits at their vet and THEIR vet lied about him being healthy & give the meds a few days to work that is why it was 16 days because we were following THEIR advisement!

Highly recommend IRB Animal Hospital. Dr. Matt has been treating my 2 dogs and cat since I moved here in 2019. I have an elderly dog that requires a monthly shot but he has severe vet anxiety. Vet tech Nicole is kind enough to come out to our car to give him the injection so we do not have to stress him out by bringing him inside. Dr. Matt has personally offered to come to our home to assist with him as well. He always thoroughly explains in layman's terms possible causes for my pet's injuries or illness. He lays out treatment plans with the most cost effective options. The staff are the best! Always friendly and efficient. I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever who loves to come to the office, she knows where they keep the treat jar!

I am writing this review with a heavy heart, as I am deeply frustrated with the way Indian Rocks Beach Animal Hospital Veterinary Clinic (12712 Indian Rocks, Largo, FL 33774) handled my request for heartworm medication for my mini schnauzer. I recently just purchased him and brough him into Indian Rocks Beach Animal Hospital 2 month ago to have a general checkup. My recent experience has left me incredibly dissatisfied and a lot of confusion.

Parsley - the puppy’s - has been on a Trifexis heartworm medication for 2 months – which I purchase from Indian Rocks Animal Hospital. However, when I recently asked them to fill a prescription from another reputable online company for the same medication, they flatly refused. This refusal came with a nonsense unreasonable explanation was both baffling and frustrating. I was told by the clinic that they don’t sign off on prescription online anymore due to patients’ dogs dying from their medication. However, I was also told that I can come in to get the script to send to the vendor, so the clinic won’t be held liable. With that being said – the receptionist told me they will price match the vendor if I can purchase from them. Indian Rocks Beach Animal Hospital will rather tarnish another vendor name just to get me to purchase the medication from them.

As a responsible pet owner, I wanted to explore options and ensure that I was providing the best care for my furry friend. It’s disheartening that Indian Rocks Beach Animal Hospital Veterinary Clinic (12712 Indian Rocks, Largo, FL 33774) was unwilling to accommodate my request, leaving me feeling as though they prioritize their own interests over the well-being of my pet.

In my opinion, a veterinary clinic should prioritize the health and well-being of the animals they serve, rather than adhering rigidly to where I get the medication from. This experience has not only caused me great frustration but has also shaken my trust in Animal Hospital Veterinary Clinic (12712 Indian Rocks, Largo, FL 33774) commitment to their patients’ welfare.

I hope that Animal Hospital Veterinary Clinic (12712 Indian Rocks, Largo, FL 33774) reevaluates its policies and considers the needs and preferences of loyal pet owners like myself in the future. A little more flexibility and understanding could go a long way in ensuring the satisfaction and trust of their clientele.

We absolutely adore this vet! Dr Matt and all of his staff have been so amazing to us over the years. They love it when our Australian shepherd Loki comes in and give him all the hugs and kisses! They were also SO very caring when we had to come put our cat bob down a few weeks back, which was such a hard time for us as he was 20 years old Cecily and the rest of the front desk staff go above and beyond for us EVERY time and couldn’t be more thrilled to have them as our go to vet for anything our babies need. 100% will recommend anytime. Thanks for all that you do!
