Isan Thai Restaurant, Sarasota FL

So far the best authentic Thai food we have found in the area. As we have spent some time in Thailand, we usually base Thai restaurants on the som tum (papaya salad) and theirs is the most authentic we have found. Enjoy

On a beautiful Friday afternoon, my wife and I decided that we wanted some Thai food, and so off to Isan Thai Restaurant we went. We started with a lunch adventure with House Salads served with fresh Romaine Lettuce, Tomatoes, Carrots, Onions, and Cucumbers in a delicious Ginger dressing. It was a great way to start our meal. We then ordered Pork Potstickers with a flavorful and delicious soy dipping sauce that was amazing. And for our main dishes we had Beef Drunken Noodles and Pad Pak Ruam Mit both served with adequate portions and the plates were visually appealing. Both plates were cooked to perfection and had a lot of flavor and all fresh ingredients. My wife ordered the Thai Tea and I order unsweet Tea. We had no complaints, the serve was excellent, food was plentiful and full of flavor, all well-cooked and with an overall Thai ambiance. They are located right off Tamiami Trail, easy to see from the street, and easy parking out front along the street. The interior decor is full Thai art, decor and architecture. The table cloths were of Thai design with intricate embroidered details with great contrasting and colorful displays. They have two dining areas on each side of the main entrance and the covered booths provide a feeling of Asian privacy that is truly unique. A great place to enjoy some great Thai cuisine.

This is one of my regular go-to places in Sarasota for delicious meals and great service. The food is clean, authentic and flavorful, whether you order it mildly spicy or Thai hot. My old reliables are pad Thai and vegetable panang curry, but I’ve never had a disappointing dish. When other restaurants shut down during Hurricane Irma’s march toward the Bay Area and, later, as the pandemic took hold, Isan found a way to keep its employees safe while continuing to serve customers. I appreciate their commitment to patrons and know many others who do, too. Thank you, Isan.

Best Thai food in town hands down. Better than Bangkok although Bangkok is also very good. I get the Isan Thai Amazing under the curry menu with a sweet Thai ice tea everytime. Never have I been disappointed 5stars all the way.

Served by a wonderful lady named Laylai. Yummy food and very flavorful. Expedient service with a clean environment.

I'm very often in Thailand and get used to the original food and spices from their country. I tried alot of Thai Restaurans in this area ans Isan Thai is by far the best one. You should definitly give it a try. The papaya salad is like I used to eat in thailand. Overall huge portions.

Best Thai in SRQ. Authentic. Good flavor. We have tried almost everything on he menu in the last two years and it is almost always a winner dish. Staff is friendly but service is sometimes hit or miss. My favorite is the Green Curry Fried rice with chicken. The Thom Ka Gai soup is very good. Spring rolls are excellent. Red Curry is good as is the fried banana dessert. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

Very good food is always very good true Thai cuisine girls are very friendly staff is very friendly the owner's not very friendly but is what it is I go there for the food and the friendly waitresses not to talk to him!

This is one of the best places to get Thai food and be especially love the calamari pad thai

So second visit to Isan. Again was not disappointed. We shared 3 items green papaya salad, fried egg rolls and red curry seafood with jasmine rice.

Flavors of all items were spot on. Egg roll maybe a little crisper. If you are in the area please visit a local restaurant.

Excellent thai food. Highly recommended. Lunch is served with a soup and portions are smaller which is very good.

Very rushed service. They wanted us to hurry and order; eat and leave. Soup was cold. Rice dish was mushy. There are much better Thai restaurants within a mile or 2

Called for pickup AND PUT ON HOLD, A LONG TIME. WHEN CAME
back to phone, started taking my order then disconnected me.
Called back 13 times and got a busy signal. Finally left a detailed
message, Two hours later and never called back‘. UNPROFESSIONALLY MANAGED, NEVER AGAIN!

One of the best restaurants in Sarasota! If you haven't been, don't think twice and try it! The interior decoration is beautiful. Parking is kind of limited and the restaurant is kind of tucked in between other stores so it's not the most obvious to see.

Stopped here for a late lunch (2-3 other tables being served) with my parents who don’t usually opt for Thai. We all enjoyed our meals. We particularly liked the Penang curry, Thai basil fried rice, and mango sticky rice. The service was great. The only downside for us was the “medium” level spicy wasn’t as spicy as a lot of other Thai places, so you may want to ask for one level above your comfort area.
