Island Coast Pediatrics, Fort Myers FL

Regrettably my experience with Island Coast Pediatrics left much to be desired. I needed urgent updates on my child's vaccine forms for their admission into special advanced classes at the public high school. Despite explaining the time-sensitive situation, the staff refused assistance, citing a missed well-child visit. I begged them to see him as soon as possible and they said we would have to wait until the following week and there was nothing they could do to help me.

Desperate for a solution, I contacted another pediatrician's office, which suggested the health department—a crucial piece of information Island Coast Pediatrics failed to provide. Shame on them for their lack of communication and support during a critical time. Thankfully, the health department swiftly resolved the issue with just an ID.

Parents, be aware that Island Coast Pediatrics might not prioritize timely assistance, potentially affecting your child's academic opportunities. My experience highlights the importance of reliable and communicative healthcare providers, especially when it comes to crucial moments in a child's education.

Staff is always helpful and very nice. Any time I need to bring my kids in I know the doctors will do what is needed to help my kids feel better. They only see patients with appointments, but that has never been a problem for us.

All the staff are very empathetic, they offer excellent service, parents of twins are satisfied with the performance of their work. Grateful

My wife and I have been to quite a few appointments here since my son was born. I am happy to say they are worth recommending if you have kids!

We absolutely love ICP! The offices are clean the staff is friendly and drs are amazing. I have recommended them to anyone who has asked for a new pediatrician

Update: after a second visit with Dr Padilla for both of my kids, I feel frustrated, he never examined both of them and my son has been struggling with anxiety lately, he shortly diagnosed my son with ADHD without even talking to him, nor examine him; he wanted to prescribe drugs for him, he mentioned all the bad outcomes of the condition and negative consequences; everything in front of my 6 yo son and he now has questions an concerns about what he heard. Very unprofessional!
We finally found out what happens after a visit at school, my son has been bullied for months and nobody did anything, we saw him been pushed and pulled by another kid who sits next to him at classes, the teachers did nothing about it. We moved out son to another school and from the very first moment he felt relieved and the anxiousness disappeared completely.
I am leaving my previous opinion below but that’s not what I think after this unfortunate visit.
Wonderful. Dr Padilla was awesome, he examined my kids from head to toe, explained everything and answered all questions. The MA was amazing as well as the phlebotomist.

The fort Myers office was horrible. We are usually at the Estero office which has always been great, however this time was not at all. When we arrived for the appointment they told us we were not scheduled even though someone had called me at 8: 43 that morning and said to come in at 10: 30 for 10: 40 appointment. When we got there we were told we were not on the schedule. Then it was made out to seem like it was my fault I didn’t realize I never got a confirmation text for the appointment. I live in Bonita so when I got the call at 8: 43 am and had to be there by 10: 30 I was getting myself and son ready, NOT paying attention to my phone for a text! We had to wait TWO hours to be seen. No one checked on us, no one was sympathetic. When we saw the P. A. They told us the diagnosis was a normal finding. When I requested imaging we were told no. For a kid with a hard lump on their neck that HURTS and has had major medical problems earlier this year, you would think they would be more compassionate and accommodating to the patient. As someone who works in the medical field, I am disgusted and disappointed. I would never make a patient wait 2 hours like that and to make it seem like why we were there was nothing serious is incredibly unprofessional and horrible patient care.

I love IPceds the stall is very nice and Professional, I have never had a long wait Time. DR. Troast is my Daughter doctor I love him as well and she does to. We need More establishments like this.

All the doctors here are awesome, they really care about the children, the staff even down to the MA's are great I would recommend anyone bring there kiddos here

Always nice and caring staff were moved away from the cape location and had to start using the Fort Myers location which is closer. We always have good experiences there and my daughter likes the staff as well.

I was a patient at this practice since 10 years old and then I established my son. I’ve never had any issues. I recently had a new baby and tried to establish him but was told my first son was dismissed and neither of them can be established. I’ve called many times for weeks to speak to a manager and no one had returned my calls. I spoke to Amy today who told me my son was dismissed for “personal reasons”. I am the mother. Why can’t this be disclosed to me? ! Now I’m left to find medical care for my children without even the decency of knowing why this establishment has denied them.

When your child is sick (visibly very sick) and you take them, you will get told to go home and give then water and tylenol. Then when your child's cold develops into a chest infection, you will get told that they can't help you with a prescription or antibiotic unless you come in again. (Yet another office visit co-pay for them). Meanwhile, your child will be the one who suffers as a result of the office's incompetence. Sad, because we really liked it when we first came here. It's so disheartening to know that when you're worried about your child and want the comfort and help of your pediatrician, that you will not find that reassurance and help.

I'll be leaving this same review for their Ft. Myers location since we went there too.

Looking for a new pedi after 4.5 years. Impossible to reach actual front desk staff, all scheduling through call center is not working for parents with sick kids. Used to be able to navigate the directory for a same day appt. Call center agents lack empathy and resources to do anything past schedule a well check, or put you on hold for 30+ minutes.
