Istokpoga Canal Boat Ramp And Campsite reviews
20This is a no frills, no hookups campground. If you don't like noise there is a train that goes by several times a day. There is also road traffic. You will not want to use the pit toilets here as they smell horrible. So if you have an RV you will need a generator for power and make sure your water is full. There is a hose for water but probably won't reach your camper. I think it is really for horses because you can camp with horses here. We don't mind noise and we like the campground.
Shade or solar sites available. Pull in, pull through or just find a space. Friendly hosts. Beautiful sunsets.
It sucks people book this campground and never show up leaving empty sites. I rode by today and only three campers the when it says the whole campground is booked. Maybe charge a reservation fee and this won't happen
The campground host's Audrey and Felix at istokpoga are very kind persons and very helpful.they work very hard at keeping the surroundings very clean.always see then working very hard and they attend everyone with respect.they are exellent persons both. Istokpoga is a peaceful, relaxing place with incredible wildlife.
Wood all broken on the ramp for airboats if a airboat it it just right it would damage the hull on the airboat.
Very peaceful and clean free campground. The place is awesome and very well kept by the hosts Felix and Audrey, who were friendly and very helpful. I hiked, biked and kayaked during my 6 day RV stay. Very relaxing and enjoyable visit, I will definitely return.
One of my favorite places to camp. I was the only camper while I was there. Hosts were the best! Great experience.
This place is incredible, it's exactly what you dream about in a campground. Boat ramp, hiking trails long and short a humongous bat house to control insects. The Hosts Felix and Audrey are outstanding. They keep the place spotless they really show care even the way they collect the pine cones and falling branches is cute, it looks so pretty that you can not tell it's trash they also practice excellent customer service. My family absolutely love this place
Very nice place to camp, camp grounds where very well keep. The host where very knowledgeable about the area and helpful.
Nice area for a day trip. Not very many camping spots, even without all the RV's parked there. Close to the river but no access to fish except on the boat ramp. Very close to busy highway - not much peace and quiet.
Could have been a nice camping spot, if not for the nasty restroom. You are better off taking a dump outside in the fresh air.
Worked well for us with plenty of sunshine for our solar panels, but folks run their generators well into the night so they can watch TV.
Nice quiet campground to relax. Free! Nice boat ramp. No electricity. Large sites. We stayed here three nights in 35 foot travel trailer.
Great free Camping Spot! Stayed 4 days and Mark was an excellent host.
Sites are wide and trees are cleared enough for our 36’ fifth wheel. Even enough sun through the trees to keep our batteries charged on solar
Make sure you get your permit early and enjoy!
One of the best campground we been stayed, Marck and Cookie are the best Host we been met, great attention to campers, great attitude! The campground is extremely clean and very organized! Wish the best to the host Marck and wife! From Felix!
Great ramp to launch your boat! Safe and easily accessible. Picnic tables and restrooms. Not to mention great fishing in Kissimmer River
Very nice place to stay at! Not slot of people when I stayed, pretty much had the entire campground to myself! It's free! No showers, but they do have a restroom! Nice boat ramp!
Mostly swamp access (late June) wood boat ramp and huge empty parking lots. Kinda eerie feeling, deserted and run down
SFWMD area, great for boondocking, camp hosts are so very nice, hate to see them leave in May. Special Use Permit needed for free camping thru SFWMD. Bring everything with you, kick back and enjoy!
