Italian Restaurant Italia reviews
18We had a room in the back of the restaurant that was perfect for our family of 9 people. The atmosphere was quiet and the decor made us imagine we were dining in Italy. Food was very good and service was great. We were celebrating our son and grandson's birthdays and this was the perfect place because we all love Italian cuisine.
I made reservations for a party of 14. We were seated in the private room with 2 other small parties, different server. Our table was setup for 12 people. It took a while for the server to take our drink order. She had other tables in a different section to serve. It took 1 1/2 hour before we got our food. My grandkids were hungry. Two of the personalized pizzas were under cooked and at that point my Grandsons were so hungry that they ate what they could so the rest was garbage. The eggplant Parmigiana had over kill of sauce and the sauce was very sweet. My Chicken picata was salty. Trying to get our server to come refill our drinks was a challenge. When I called to make reservations I asked if I can bring a birthday cake as we were celebrating my Mom's 84th birthday. I was going to cut the cake myself but our server insisted on doing so. I brought my own paper plates and plastic fork so we wouldn't need to use the restaurant. We told our server that the 2 pizzas were undercooked. We get our bill and there was a $10.00 cake cutting fee and only 1 pizza discounted half price. This was supposed to be a positive experience as my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma and we wanted the family to be together to have a positive experience. $507.65 after and extremely disappointing with the entire experience. Italia will never get my business again. My recommendation to them is to have someone assist the server with large parties.when companies skimp on staff, they lose business.
Sadness. Walked in before 9. Was ignored by the staff until 9: 01. Then they told us they closed at 9. Well.ok. Thanks. I guess you don't need my business. Ever.
Never again! Party of 15. One and a half hour to get our food. The quality was very poor. Eggplant parmigiana had thin slices of eggplant, the sauce was very sweet and the pasta was way overcooked. A child’s portion of pasta was $10 and 3 of the kids pizza were undercooked and the 4th pizza was too salty. The draft beers were not filled, saving them at least 3 ounces per glass. They even charged $10 to cut our own birthday cake. The waitress didn’t listen to what was asked a few times, which delayed service. We were ALL highly disappointed at my mother in-laws 84th birthday party. I will NEVER return to this awful restaurant!
I find it amazing that this restaurant which is incredible by the way gets 20 - 30 reviews with 4 and 5 star ratings and then a 1 star then another 25 5 star ratings before another 1 star. These people that leave these one star reviews are individuals that can never be pleased and think they are more important than the rest of humanity. Do us all a favor and stay home so we don't have to listen to you berate a server on a Friday night all because you want something for nothing. Then when you don't get it you come here to leave a negative review. That's just disgusting so stay home!
The food is excellent the service is outstanding. We enjoyed the private room in the back for a birthday but will return soon to introduce friends to the wonderful atmosphere!
Went here December 8th for the first time with friends. Had a delicious dinner (was one of the chef's special) which had shrimp and Italian sausage. Service was good. We then went back on December 29th. We had the lasagna roll (which was dry and we assumed that was because it was missing the cheese but we didn't complain). Our guest had the shrimp scampi and said it was good. We also ordered the side salads. The menu indicated the salads were $2.99. However when the bill arrived we were charged $4.50. When we asked our waitress why she replied "we had a price increase". I then asked her why wasn't the menu updated to reflect the increase and she said she would ask the manager and let me know. She came back and replied that it was missed on the menu and the manager told her there was nothing they could do as they didn't know how to correct the bill. Never experienced anything like this. When leaving I did have a chat with the manager and said you need to let your customers know as this is not right and he said he just told all his waiters to advise customers. Really? We will not be back.
Phenomenal cuisine. Eggplant parmesan was delicious. Quality wine selection. Busy and a bit noisy but it added to the experience. I'll definitely be back.
Best Italian I have had in a while, cozy setting excellent staff and amazing cook. The food was homemade and it showed. Will definitely be back when visiting this coast.
Beyond delicious is the calamari dish, we really like the pepperdews here. The stuffed meatball is my favorite. Carmine had veal piccata and it was tender and flavorful. Angie was kind, helpful and added to our birthday dinner. Thank you all.
We Love Italia! It always has a great atmosphere and amazing food! If you are visiting Punta Gorda this is a must stop for Italian food!
One of my favorite places to dine. I love all their entries. You can not go wrong with any of them. Drinks to dessert. Love them.
$80 for takeout here was definitely not worth it. The food was put into cardboard boxes and did not look good whatsoever, didn’t hold in warmth, and had no flavor. We will not be dining in here or ordering takeout again. My family is highly unimpressed.
Italia is my favorite Italian restaurant in Punta Gorda.it has withstood the test of time.friendly staff.excellent food.best chicken marsala in town! Phil the evening manager runs a well oiled machine
Will definitely be back. Food was about a 8/10. You definitely get your money's worth. Couldn't eat all of it. Service was great! Victoria was amazing! Will definitely be back.
Overated
Over priced
Only thing on the menu is spaghetti
My son got better food off the kids menu.
And my home spaghetti is better!
One of my most favorite italian restaurants in the Fort Myers vicinity. Great atmosphere, great food, great staff. Don’t be afraid of asking for something special! I love veal parmigiana without breading. Just grilled with sauce and mozzarella over pasta. Veal parmigiana isn’t even on the menu. No worries. Just ask. If I could eat here every week without gaining weight, I would. Please don’t let the gruffness at checkin sway your opinion, once you get seated, everything is just great. Highly recommend!
Most amazing manager in the area. Phil makes sure to personally stop by every single table that comes in, to check the service. Staff is attentive and responsive. Good luck finding that kind of service elsewhere. This place only got 5 stars because it won't allow me to give more. Probably the best service in southwest Florida.
