The doctors and nurses like to make fun of patients in crisis and push injectables to patients that ask for their medications or deny treatment even due to religious reasons. The staff are sometimes friendly but at what mental cost to the patients? Dont bring anyone in crisis to this hospital, theyll just make a jest out of someone already in crisis. Items often go missing there. One of my items that went missing was a specific business card a police officer gave me, i still dont know where that is and i am very eager to speak to him.

I started off by going to this facility in a mental health crisis, and began with their outpatient services. Started off good, but over time the lack of communication from the psychiatrist and this facility has been unacceptable, and now has led to me abruptly going without services for the second AND LAST TIME; you will no longer get my business and people will hear the sad experience I’ve had with Jackson Behavioral Health so they can find an actual facility that cares. Since I’ve been with Jackson Behavioral Health for almost 2 years now, I’ve had multiple psychiatrist not respond ever again after seeing them for several appointments, not show up for my appointment, and just leave it at that; in a time where I desperately NEEDED/STILL NEED these mental health services. They let providers leave their practice WITHOUT telling their patients. You won’t get a call or email, you’ll only find out once they don’t show up for your appointment and you’re told you don’t even have an appointment; that’s how I found out first time my psychiatrist left, by showing up for an appointment I was told I didn’t have because my psychiatrist doesn’t work there anymore. The lack of professionalism from this place has continuously let me down. This is unacceptable, and shameful that this facility allows patients that are needing help and resources to be ignored and FORGOTTEN about. Something probably so insignificant to you has drastically effected me, and now I’m struggling to find local services in a timely manner before my medication runs out. A medical facility that lets this happen to their patients is one that truly DOES NOT CARE. It’s been almost 2 months since I’ve first tried contacting my psychiatrist after him not showing up for my appointment ; I’m sure they left this facility like my last psychiatrist, and they didn’t think their patient was important enough to inform them about it… once again, so this is probably a waste of my time to them, but if another person in need of help sees this and it helps them find a BETTER facility, then I’m happy.

Be prepared to be robbed while on the floor. Stole his eyeglass and even the prescription which was given to their own drivers who transported him home. You will be cast off to the fellows and interns never get to speak to attending doctors. God forbid they step up. Go elsewhere. P.s. I contacted them as below and never heard back. No surprise there.

Cane here today with my 3 kids which the youngest is only 8 years old trying to drop off clothes a child, imagine already dealing with such horrible situation, my heart was already in pain. So when I enter the room there were already there were two Hispanic women in there, I said hi and asked who I can leave the clothes with, and one employee name " juliette" a black.woman with a Caribbean accent
Immediately started screaming at me and my kids telling me that I need to leave now, and even pushed my kids out of the room, grabbing the bag from me and threw it out and slammed the door. My kids started to cry and was wondering why this woman treated them like trash. I'm deeply saddened by he behavior, and I'm gonna make it my mission to make sure no other kids will receive that kind of treatment.

This hospital has the best customer service ever! I am a behavior therapist and my client goes to this center. His mother and I have had a great experience especially with Yainelis, better known as Yai! She is very patient, kind and we can see that she loves what she does! She is very professional and sweet, ideal for working with patients! Highly recommended!

Gentlemen, be careful when making an appointment or when you go to your appointment, because they charge you before having the appointment for what you supposedly have to pay according to your insurance, but then you receive a bill from the doctor apart from what you already paid and If they do a procedure on you, whether it's removing your mucus, they also charge you separately. I paid $100 for each consultation and then I received a bill from the University of Miami for $329.97 and I called and said and asked and they didn't take it from me, after a while if I didn't pay it they sent the debt to collection, well I prefer and to other places where everything is included. The worst part is that they don't tell you when you pay what you are paying and then no one knows.

I was admitted about a week ago and got discharged 2 days ago. I really wish I was lying about this, but the techs are horrible as are the nurses. If you’re a minority of any kind, they will treat you as a zoo exhibit. I’m white and was lucky enough to not receive that type of mistreatment but the other patients along side myself were not so lucky. There was this old woman who would constantly yell out that she couldn’t see/ that she was blind and the techs would just laugh at her and mock her as they approached her. Yelling out “you want food? ” In the only tone she was able to communicate: yelling. The techs name is Laurent. This place is not just nor is it fair. You will be nothing but dollar signs to their eyes. The actual therapists are amazing and try their best to do everything they can to fit your needs but these “techs” and “nurses” are just god awful. They talk bad about you in creole and look and laugh at you while doing so. Imagine being degraded at the one place you thought you would receive help. Suicide Prevention starts at Jackson Behavioral Hospital; and not because of it’s treatments, but because you will NEVER want to be admitted into an inhumane facility like Jackson.
