While my daughter was living at the commons things went well however BE AWARE that the lease holder does not follow FL law when it comes to returning your deposit or sending written notice of what they will be keeping out of your deposit. FL law is very specific “Upon the vacating of the premises for termination of the lease, if the landlord does not intend to impose a claim on the security deposit, the landlord shall have 15 days to return the security deposit together with interest if otherwise required, or the landlord shall have 30 days to give the tenant written notice by certified mail to the tenant’s last known mailing address of his or her intention to impose a claim on the deposit and the reason for imposing the claim. “ We were asked if we would be able to move out at the end of July so that the Commons could lease our apartment in August, originally we had the apartment through mid August Savannah in the leasing office communicated that we would not have to pay any August rent as we were moving early. We have made numerous attempts to contact Savannah at the leasing office and have met with no success. The deposit should have been returned by the end of August of 2021 and it is now February of 2022 and we are still trying to get the correct returned deposit. Very unprofessional!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - I moved out in August of 2021 and have yet to receive my security deposit (January 2022). I have called, sent emails, and even reached out on Instagram with no response. One phone call was answered when I made it using a coworker's phone who has a different area code than I do. Very unprofessional and against Florida law.

So…I’m sure it is a lovely place to live, but they stopped all communication with me after they received my application fee. I’ve sent emails, messenger, and tried calling and no answer. I don’t even know if they’ve done my application? Idk doesn’t seem like they’re trying to rent. Glad I only lost the application fee and didn’t sign a lease:/ Would have loved to live here!

I lived here for 2 years, and my experience was pretty good. Once management was changed things were a lot easier to get fixed, and communication was efficient during my time. There was only one instance that my maintenance call took a month to get done. I currently have a problem getting my security deposit back on time by FL law. It’s a common issue past residents have had, so it’s definitely something they need to work on, and something to be aware of as a resident. I never had any major malfunctions in my apartment as I kept my place clean constantly and made sure everything was properly maintained. Community wise, this is student housing & people will be loud! Quiet hours rarely exist here, and if noise bothers you send out a complaint or call the cops…it won’t be the first time. You’ll being hearing all your neighbors no matter what since the walls and ceiling are thin. Security wise, the complex is very well lit at night, and there are cameras on each building! The only crime I knew of were cars being broken into, and the office had sent multiple emails during my time there reminding people to lock their cars. Arlington isn’t the safest area, and that’s common knowledge in Jacksonville. Other than those couple hiccups I mentioned earlier, it’s a pretty decent place to live. No apartment complex is totally perfect!

Edit: As mentioned earlier, my communication with the staff is good, and I finally received my security deposit after figuring out what the issue was.

So Ive seen a good amount of not so true reviews, that are trying to make this place seem likes its horrible! Which it is not, first off the people that wrote those negative reviews didn't even use a real name, so im not sure how honest that is lol.this is my first year living here and i can say that no matter what issue i have i can always reach out to savannah and she will respond right away no matter what.i feel very safe here, there are cameras all around the complex so that makes me feel even safer.i saw a reviewer that complained about how the A/C break but they must not be from Florida because everyone in Florida knows the A/C breaks and all we have to do is reach out to management and they will send someone ASAP to fix it! So with that being said this place is amazing.the office is always having fun events for the residents to do which helps us get to know our neighbors that we might not already know from School.i love this place and it really does feel like home!

Savannah the Property Manager was AWESOME to work with! There was a housing mishap at the college and had to find a place to live in a short period of time. She was very helpful in a stressful situation. When we moved in the place was very clean and we were greeted as if we were family. The application and lease process was also extremely easy. I also like the ability to pay online.

Out of all the apartment complexes I’ve lived in this one is at the top of my list. They are affordable, great quality, and pet friendly. Maintenance is always quick to respond as well as all staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions.

Im sorry but I feel like I have to use an alias for this review. The commons really only cares about how much money they can take away from their residents. Even after the older lady stopped working at the office, things are still very unprofessional and disorganized. The calls/texts/ emails hardly ever get answered. To get an "answer" my roommates and I have to visit the office (that's IF the office is really open) only to hear "ill ask the managers and get back to you" and that takes 6-10 business days. I've known of many people who have complained about getting their deposits back, and had to tell the office that it is Florida Law to get their money back after 30 days. I am not looking forward to renewing my lease/referring people here. It all seems good at first, but a pain in the end. And the answer is no, i do not want to/ feel comfortable reaching out to the office to address the concerns I have. The concerns should've been taken care of prior to me getting to this point of writing a review to warn others.

This place was easy to take your money for a rental but a nightmare to get your deposit back. Beware!

They want to rush you to move in but they won’t help you with anything and it takes forever for them to answer your questions, plus they will ignore you when it’s time to return your security deposit

This place is a great place to live to start “adulthood”. I wish they had more amenities to give; dog park, gym, hot tub. It was kind of hard to get in contact with the leasing office at first, but with new management team, it’s getting better.

I’ve only been here a short while but I love it! The outside is adorable and the inside is super spacious. The couches it comes with are really comfortable and the bedrooms are a great size for one person. They definitely fit a lot! Management and leasing offices here are super helpful! I’m excited to be here for the next two years!

So far I've enjoyed my time at Jackson Commons. The apartments are very roomy and the kitchen is spacious as well. I'm renewing my lease as the rent/utilities are flat rate and affordable especially considering the size of the apartment. As a JU student, the location in regards to JU campus is ideal. Easily within walking distance and not to far from other conveniences as well (such as Publix or Walmart).

I’ve really enjoyed my time living here at the Jackson Commons! I highly recommend this complex to any student looking for affordable housing off campus. The amenities are great, the people who live here are awesome and the giveaways/events are a nice little extra gift especially as a broke college student.
