I am amazed at the service and quality we received here. The Sunday girls did an amazing job on my granddaughters highlights and cut. Not only from the attention to detail but also the above and beyond quality we received from these ladies. I am beyond impressed and would highly recommend this team of ladies.

I have been going to JCP Salon for years. Michelle does my hair every time and she is great. She always listens to what I want and does it. She takes the extra time to make sure that she always does a good job. I recommend everyone I know to JCPenney salon.

The receptionist, answered the phone in a professional manner, gave details on services provided, and also was knowledgeable about Black hair care and if there was a stylist who cater to natural Black hair.

Ray and Julia are both incredibly talented stylists. They’ve always made my hair look nice. My eyebrow hair is super thick and messy, yet they have always done them neat and with attention to detail. They are super friendly and accommodating.

Only one negative experience with a new stylist (won’t name here) who quite literally messed up everything, and I even skipped my eyebrows that day because I was afraid after the haircut. But if you book Ray or Julia (especially for eyebrows!) and you’ll be happy.

Ray is fantastic! She is a skilled cosmetologist who can do ALL hair types. When was the last time a black client could get a weave, braids, crochet, natural, and straightened hair at a jcp salon? I think she is the most talented stylist there based on the other work I see. I will continuing seeing Ray as long as I live in the greater Daytona area. She is such a gem! Always leaves me looking and feeling beautiful! Thank you Ray!

Everybody needs food, so I don't like to write bad reviews; however, I understood why the salon was advertising to hire when I met one of the receptionists.

The 1st receptionist (with thinner, blonde, curly hair) was shockingly unprofessional and snippy. The 2nd receptionist attempted to improve things by being overtly kind. I know people have bad days, but it seems like the 2nd receptionist is accustomed to this behavior by now. That woman deserves a job in HR: I honestly commend her. I would let her use this review as a job reference.

I walked upstairs to Dillard's Aveda Salon, and the stylists were personable and genuine (and reasonably priced). I'm really glad I just went upstairs: I suggest you do so as well.

The only place I can go and pick someone I trust with my hair. However today’s experience was less than stellar. I made an appointment three weeks ago and understandably my stylist got sick and had to reschedule which I didn’t mind at all and the phone call I got was a nice touch; I chose to reschedule for the following week. I get to today’s rescheduled appointment only to find I was not added to it after last weeks phone call…wtf! No apology about their mess up no offer of possibly going to someone else just nope we don’t see your name. How about do better! This could have went a complete different direction “Oh I’m sorry about the mix up your stylist is booked up for today but we have xyz available as an option if you don’t mind”

I went in with hair and photo of what I wanted. I left with a cut that was so disappointing ('wanted to cry' disappointing) and a much shorter cut than I had wanted or that even appeared in the photo. The stylist was nice-that's good. She took too long with the back of my hair, which was a red flag. When she turned me around to the mirror, my hair was gone. She kept cutting! I said that it's awfully short. She kept cutting. The shearing cost $45.00-with no shampoo!

Update: Several days after this haircut, I called the manager. She asked me to come in so she could see the cut and possibly rectify some of the mistakes. I did that today, 9/21/21. The manager explained how the cut had gone wrong. We agreed on the proper way to correct the cut, and she proceeded to do a nice job of shaping and blending. While my hair is still much shorter than I had wanted, it looks MUCH better, and I appreciate the professionalism and customer service.

Didn't even get past the initial phone call that is any business' first opportunity to make a good impression.
. I called to ask if they were open today (a Mon.when many salons are closed). RESPONSE: OF COURSE we're open! ! (not "yes, and thx for calling us", etc.) I stated I was a prev customer of JCP Salon (prior to moving to Daytona) and I was calling for an appt to have my roots done and ask their rate for that service. RESPONSE: $60 and up. $65 and up, depending what u want done. I said I wanted my roots done with one color, that's all - can she give me a more exact rate. RESPONSE: No, I can't tell you anything else. We have to see your hair!
. So she assumes that I will take my time to go into "her" salon merely to be told it'll cost $65, or $165, or $265, etc.for your "one-color" roots tb done, no "frills", based on no different facts than she recd on the phone! As ridiculous as this scenario may sound, her non-response was equally ridiculous.
. Is this how your employee is trained to respond to a potential customer - possibly a "regular" customer? Or is she "trained" at all? Imo, she is apathetic, arrogant and immature tb dealing w the public and has lost a GOOD customer for her employer.

Hair dye I'm sure was a box dye. Also pink lasted maybe 4 days. After 2weeks already starting to show dark color roots. Didn't ask if I wanted more pink in the hair b4she took it away. Lady was nice but didn't fully pay attention to what I wanted. Will not go back. Even told them they had low rating online but yet I gave them a try. Will never go back. 170 wasted.

My mom went here and had Leilani. She provided a pic and here is what she got. She literally is heartbroken and cannot believe she paid money for this. My 7 year old could have done this. Called and spoke with the manager Jackie who wanted her to come in and have it fixed. She refuses to let them in her hair again and I TOTALLY understand. As soon as I mentioned a refund so she can go somewhere legit, she started saying how she "needs" to let her fix it. The pics added are the colors she asked for and the colors she got. So disappointed.
