Jerk Hut Southside Cafe, Tampa FL

They microwave your food before giving it to you and lie about it and the macaroni and cheese has no flavor. Worse Jerk Hut in Tampa.

Wasn't what I was use to as in curry chicken.the chicken was grilled with no sauce from curry on rice so ultimately ended up being dry serving.sat in my fridge for 4 days before tossing.

I don't know what's wrong with this jerk hut opens at 11 o'clock but they don't have food until 12 o'clock missing the picture here I'm surprised this is not out of business

The cashier was talking to someone on her wireless ear buds while taking my order. During my order she interrupted and said, "is that it". The curry chicken was oily. The red beans and rice was very soft. The cabbage was chunky pieces. The spicy patty was more bread than filling and dry. I ordered a Kola Champagne, she gave me Pineapple Soda. Spent $16 and wish I could get my money back. Overall, the food had zero flavor, the service was tacky and my time and money wasted.

Amazing chicken curry was 9/10 rice and beans 8/10 PLANTAINS 10/10 but the beef patty ay Dios! The beef party 10000/10 this is now my 2nd favorite food besides Mexican from my abuela

Just ordered a kids meal curry chicken with rice and beans from this restaurant with a pineapple soda. First she gave me the soda and said it wasn’t cold. Ok whatever. Next thing I noticed was how hot my food was and I got very excited thinking I just really got some fresh food. Couple minutes later I noticed that oil was leaking from bottom which is usually a sign that something have been microwaved. I moved the rice around and looked at the bottom of the plate and it was all burned just like when you put any plastic container in a microwave. I called and ask the lady if the food was microwave she said yes. I asked her if everything is usually microwaved she said I’ll let you speak to the manager. Spoke to the manager she asked what I ordered and I told her. She said yes once they put the food in the plate they usually microwave it for 15 sec. I asked her how long ago was the food cooked because I’m currently pregnant and don’t want to get food poisoning, she said today. I said how long ago is today she said 2 hours ago and it’s kept in a warmer. If it’s kept in a warmer isn’t the warmer supposed to keep it at a minimum temperature of 140? Why is there a need to reheat in a microwave before serving to every guest. I’m a 100% born grown raised Jamaican and there’s no way this food was cooked 2 hours ago. Please check y’all plates for microwave burns once received to make sure that the same thing don’t happened to y’all. This is the first Jamaican restaurant I’ve ever seem reheat food in microwave before serving. Shame shame shame

I ordered jerk chicken, rice & peas, cabbage & plantains. The rice and peas was excellent however, the plantains were very old and tasted old & the jerk chicken was undercooked. Very pink in the middle & bloody. This location seems abadonded by the owner because they hardly every have what is on their Menü and the food they do have is lackluster. Since this is the only Jamaican Restaurant in south tampa, please do better!

Food is delicious. No matter what I get it's good. The ox tails, macaroni and cheese, steamed cabbage. Outstanding!

It seems like they are always missing something. Today they didn't have any pork or green sauce they never have green sauce! The food is tasty but I wish they would be more consistent.

Had the Jerk Chicken with rice, beans, and cabbage with a side of sweet fried plantains. Will definitely be going back!

FIRST THEY SAID THE CHICKEN WAS NOT SPICY AT ALL. THEY LIED, SECOND I ORDERED BEANS AND RICE I THINK THERE WERE 4 BEANS IN THE RICE, AND TO TOP IT OFF THE LEMONADE TASTED NASTY IT WAS OLD AND NOT ENOUGH SUGAR!

Some of the best Jamaican food we have ever had. We travel all over and always find a Jamaican place to try. Excellent customer service. We tried curry goat jerk pork jerk chicken patties cocoa bread. Everything was amazing.

I love the food here! I get the plantain plate every week. Nery is the best! She’s always very nice and compliments me. It is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in South Tampa!

Got the Jamaican Pork.out of this world! Have never liked cabbage, but they said theirs were great. I ate it all.

This place used to be good, but now it is terrible place to order from. I called 20 minutes ahead like I usually do and they told me they got my order and they will be ready for picked up in a few minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later and they told me that they actually didn’t have what I ordered, but one of them. And on top of that I had to wait 15 more minutes when I called 20 minutes ahead of time. I wasted my lunch time and didn’t have all of the food I was expecting. I will not go here again and won’t recommend it to anyone. There are better places to eat in S. Tampa that is worth your time and money.

This was my first time visiting, and I will DEFINITELY be back! Hand down, this was the BEST jerk chicken I have ever eaten. It was well seasoned and juicy.
