Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Hollywood FL

My son had hernia surgery here and we were very impressed by the the whole operation - staff, doctors, nurses, lady playing my son's favorite songs before surgery. Everybody was super nice and we had a great experience overall!

On Tuesday May 4th 2021 at 11: 40am I took my son to the ER, his pediatrician sent us because he had what it looked like a stomach flu but it had been 24hrs and he hadn't eaten or had anything to drink. He did not have a stomach virus because he threw up 1 time. He was pale, weak and had dark circles around his eyes, so she sent us to the ER. Everything was going good until we were given a room to be seen by a doctor. The "Doctor" came in and didn't even see my son, he didn't even check his pupils, his stomach, his breathing NOTHING, he came in the room and said "Welcome to stomach flu season" my son has ASD and the "doctor" said, "Does he have any other condition besides being delayed" That to me was like a bucket of ice falling on me. I feel like if he is a doctor that tends to children, he should be more considerate and more caring for his patients, he prescribed a probiotic and let us go. I later realized that my son had food poisoning. My insurance will cover that visit to the ER but honestly I believe it was a waste of time to go there. If the way that doctor approached my son is the way he treats all patients and even worse if all the doctors and staff are careless like that Id rather go somewhere else. What an easy way to get paid for that Doctor. I do not know his name, but if someone from the hospital reads this, they can look by the date I was there and check who the on call doctor was. Extremely disappointed.

My experience was excellent, my5yesr old had surgery today and I was super nervous and everyone was really nice and make you feel better. Wjen child going under anesthesia any parent will freak out but I will do it all over again. Excellent.my son is resting and getting better.thank you doctor Holly Neville.

THEY FIND A WAY TO WAY OVERCHARGE.
I took my son to the ER both at Joe D and Broward Health. He had RSV bronchiolitis. We went to the ER at both hospitals for care the week he was sick because his temps were so high and he had a bad rash. Both hospitals did the same thing, Nebs, suction, iv fluids. And respiratory viral panel was done at Broward Health and a chest xray was done at broward health not at JOE D.

Both hospital gave awesome care. They both did the proper diagnostic tests and treatment, but Memorial found a way to charge 4 times as much.

Think twice when you go to Joey D, you will receive a very large bill, when you can get the same care at Broward Health.

I took my 3 year old son to this hospital’s ER for a high fever, cough and shortness of breath, all COVID symptoms. They had us go through security and wait in a waiting area before being seen. Once he was seen by 3 different people, the Doctor finally came in for all of 30 seconds, talking fast and telling me to give him Tylenol and Motrin. They did a COVID test and said his results would be back in 24-48 hours. On Day THREE, I called to ask for the results, only to be taken through the ringer, for 45 minutes, by the medical records department who said they needed a signature from the patient (a 3 year old) to release information to his mother! After giving me attitude, the medical records department transferred me back to the hospital receptionist who told me results come from a lab who call me DIRECTLY, and gave me a number to call for the results. That number goes straight to a voicemail system that tells you to leave a name and number for a 24hr call back. Here we are 5 days later and not a single person has called with results for a 3 YEAR OLD’s COVID test results. I ended up having to take my son for a test at another hospital, who told me almost immediately, that my 3 year old had COVID! Joe Dimaggio’s Children’s Hospital better be lucky I don’t SUE them for neglectful treatment of a patient!

Joe DiMaggio is the best! I took my son for a procedure this morning and being he was only two was making me very a anxious but even worse he had to go under anesthesia everyone one there made my family feel so safe knowing he was in great hands of doctor Neeraj Raghunath, he kept us Inform the whole time and the nurse jessica in recovery was amazing! Even tho my son was not the calmest kid when he woke up she took her time with him ans was very gentle, kind, and caring. Thank you everyone!

People who give bad reviews in my opinion want things their way, and this hospital does 100% of good job. My son did not get get his kidney surgery because of insurance issues, had to go MTC. After surgery came back to JDCH.
The staff are Trained very well to take care of every patient needs. Furthermore unlike other hospital that are union based employment will never amount to the Healthcare service that Memorial and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital offer to south Florida

I recently gave birth at this hospital. Out of all the memorial hospitals I’ve been to, Joe Dimaggio Regional hospital gave me the BEST experience ever. I had the best team to help deliver my baby and the nurses that took care of me and my baby while i was there.
Shout out to Dr. Lance, Nurse Nikki, Nurse Lisa B. And Nurse Karina! You guys are AMAZING! Thank you for EVERYTHING!

I'm very happy with Joe Dimaggio Children's Hospital, because they have the resources and professionals available here in order to save lives and improve well-being, all the while providing compassionate care to children. My daughter has had some great doctors see her here, and we're grateful for that, and for the warm welcome and dignified experience that I felt I received here at Joe Dimaggio. We appreciate what you do and keep on keeping it up. Thank you.

Absolutely THE BEST children's hospital imaginable! The entire staff is wonderful and they make both the children and the parents feel at ease.

The doctors at jdch are the best they saved our son who was diagnosed Hodgkin lymphoma stage 3b Dr Shafer Dr. Cauf and the entire crew are our guardian angels

I think any of joe di maggio Hospitals are amazing. Worth the trip from anywhere. The pediatric staff and hospital overall are all outstanding. Ill highly recommend this place. They should have more hospitals like this in Miami.

In 2008 this hospital saved my son's life. Ten years later it's a mess. Disorganized, third world nursing staff and doctors that make you want to ask for proof of a medical degree. Try a different hospital for your child, this one is not what it used to be.

Never had a problem with this hospital. Brought all 4 of my kids here all their lives for whatever emergency they had. Every doctor, nurse, phlebotomist, etc have always been efficient and attentive. Thank you to the lovely staff at joe DiMaggio's children's hospital!

They treat the whole family, not just the patient. The doctors, nurses, and staff are all wonderful and became a second family to us. They are very knowledgeable and take time to explain conditions and procedures and answer any questions. I would recommend anyone to bring their child to this hospital!

It is a great place and the staff is great. My brother was well treated for and they were great to my family. I couldn't ask for a better place for my brother to go.

Daughter was well taken care meanwhile she was on Anastasia. The staff are very nice and make shore the kids are happy and well taken care off. The environment is really nice even do the rooms are divide by curtains per patient. Each kid gets a small toy to play with so they don’t cry or to comfort them.

Could not be more happy and greatful to have my daughter in this hospital. The NICU its amazing their doctors, nurses and staff in general. I wish I could give them 10 stars!
