John D. MacArthur Beach State Park reviews
16Beautiful, just go! Water is crystal clear, clean and jungle like when you walk thru to the beach. Will go back!
Loved the walk across the bridge out to the beach. Beach area was really nice. Very few people in the park or on the beach. Nice trails and mangroves.
Great beach park! The water was absolutely stunning. The sand was nice. The beach itself was not too crowded. Biggest Con: The walk to the beach is a bit of a hike, over a boardwalk that is slightly uneven. A good 10-15 minute walk/hike. There are bathrooms closer to the beach. My kids also found some great shells. The nature center was closed when we went, which was disappointing. I did see sit-on top kayaks there for use in the inlet, which could have been great fun. The inlet would be a great place to stand-up paddle board also and we did see one person doing it while there.
Lovely park, so clean, with lots of things to enjoy, such as trails, kayaks, the gift show and the beautiful beach. Good parking, clearly marked trails. Just amazing.
This is a beautiful park. I love to kayak here personally, but the beach is just as spectacular. You can kayak through the mangroves during high tide and see tons of FL's wildlife.
We stayed in a hotel in Palm beach and biked (~15 min) to the state park.
The place is fully accessible which is great for strollers, bike and wheel chairs of course.
We could even bike across the bridge over the water - beautiful scenary.
You can rent kayak and a park ranger will teach you how to kayak - ain't that cool?
and.there is a playground for kids and BBQ pits.
2$ for bike, 5$ for cars.
Beautiful park! Probably the best in the county. Several very nice trails, good secluded beach with nice snorkeling when the water is calm, and kayaking along the bay is pristine. You can kayak to Munyon Island, which has a nice little beach when it's not high tide as well as a trail and mangrove channels to kayak through.
You have the beach, the woods, the river, picnic areas and bike trails. It's a beautiful nature area where you can paddle your canoe, or rent one, down the river through an old cypress forest that winds for miles to Trapper Nelson's home. This park is a must see in fla. There's even a camping area.
We LOVED this beautiful beach and stayed there almost a whole day. We also appreciated friedly staff. There is a beautiful boardwalk and if you do not want to or cannot walk that far you can use a lift offered since 10 AM till 4 PM.
This beach is beautiful! Absolutely beautiful and its $5 to park and there is a play Area and picnic areas. Great for a family visit and nature hikes. Great family day outing
I've visited this place a few times in the past year and it's always a great place to go if you're in the mood for a bit of photography or a great Beach day! There's a few different trails to walk on and a nature center/ gift shop if you're interested in learning about the local wildlife here in Florida. Definitely would recommend this place for anyone visiting from out of town or locals to the area!
Simply love this place they have great rental kayaks it's a beautiful beach and a beautiful place to kayak
My favorite beach/ park on the east coast of Florida. Lovely trails.privacy.nature.changing scenery. Beautiful! You can rent kayaks there. Staff is very friendly. (the turtle in the tiny aquarium is a bit disturbing)
We love this beach, because you get the best of both a beach and a park. The water at the beach it's so nice and clear, and the view of the whole area its spectacular. You see a lot of crabs, fishes, it's a very nice place to enjoy with the family.
Different beach in south Florida but go early as the golf carts that gives a lift, stop at 4PM. Otherwise you can walk on a nice wooden trail (about half a mile) from the parking to fhe beach. There are also picnic spots before the beach and a cool gift shop.
Beautiful park! We took kayaks out and the staff was friendly and informative. You can get a yearly membership which includes free kayak rental and entry or pay $5 per car for entry and $15 for the day to rent the kayaks.still a great deal. The beach was spotless! Two thumbs up
