John Martin's Irish Pub & Restaurant reviews
16Food and drinks were delicious! Service was a little slow but we were there during a Dolphin game so they were slammed. I would definitely go back on a slower day!
Music is unnecessarily loud. It is difficult to hold a conversation. Choice of music is great.
It's a nice enough place, but it isn't recognizable as an Irish pub since the redesign. What was once a unique environment is now a typical South Florida style; just so disappointingly common.
Made me open a tab at the bar. Snotty attitudes by bartender lady. Perfect for tourist. Never coming back. Flanigan’s ten times better! If you need a fancier experience without the bull then opt for Yardhouse in Merrick park
So disappointing! We ordered the wings, ribs and fish and chips. The wings were just ok. The ribs were absolutely inedible. The rub was over powering of pepper and extremely dry. The fish was overly battered. You could barely taste the fish. When we complained to the waitress she was apologetic and apparently brought the executive chef to our table who didn’t seem to care about what we were saying. He just looked at us with a blank stare and barely apologized.
The music was extremely loud coupled with the extremely high noise coming from the bar. They need to do something about the acoustics.
Extremely disappointing to say the least. Will not return.
John Martin’s is back on #MiracleMile in #CoralGables and the NEW menu is full of Irish staples and modern day comfort foods that are delicious. Our group stared off with a long awaited (fight for every drop) John Martin’s Signature Potato Soup We followed that up with Truffle Brisket Croquettes, Mini Pork Osso Buco and Pork Belly Bites. Then came #Guinness Glazed Meatballs in Grits and Fish and Chips which were served flaky and hot. The wait was not in vain. Come to John Martin’s and enjoy these modern classics.
What a wonderful place, the renovation is amazing. I used to go there a few years ago, and always was a great place for a drink. But now, it's wonderful atmosphere, great music and fantastic food. Definitely a place to enjoy with company, or just for yourself and a drink.
The renovation is amazing and the new menu is so good! Service at the bar was excellent and they make a perfect old fashioned.
I cannot be happier to come back to John Martin’s in Coral Gables. We missed this place greatly. The new and improved JM is beautiful, welcoming, and always fun. We came in for a beer and an appetizer (Brisket Flatbread) which was delicious.
As always, Saturday night had live music which was awesome.
There is no doubt in my mind this is the best bar in the Gables.
This is one of my favorite places in Coral Gables. Relaxed atmosphere, great service, cold beer and always good food. John Martin's is an established part of the community and always welcome you as if you are family.
Went for lunch and the burger was delicious. Great location and design. Recommend. Servers were attentive
Not a good place overall. Me and my fiancée sat at the bar. We ordered the following:
- Old Fashioned: average, not served with a single piece of ice but nuggets ice.
- dirty martini: too average
- truffle brisket croquette: terrible. La carreta coquetas are x10 better
- JohnMartins burger: we ordered medium well, they brought it raw (almost alive) but they changed it to a medium one ️ I guess I had to accept it (French fries were delicious)
- passion fruit margarita: it looked like an ice tea but good flavor
FINAL TAB: $120.54 (15% tip)
We were looking forward to this place since it reopened recently but we don’t recommend it service was good
John Martin is back and better than ever from the food to the surface to the atmosphere JM has reached a new height the bar is extremely big beautiful inviting will highly recommend to stop by for happy hour and try their flights of whiskey
Really glad place reopened! A gables institution and really fun pace! Really a great job with new look and ambiance is excellent
The Guinness meat balls fantastic and the Smithwicks Ale with a shot of Jameson a must!
The place is too bright and the bartenders are beyond rude. Especially the the bartender with glasses. She was super rude. Scream at me for claiming I was screaming at her, when I wasn’t. We decided to leave after she screamed at me. I complained to the hostess and they didn’t even know the bartender’s name.
