Had a control board go bad on my stove. Whirlpool wanted $276 for the board. Found online they have a common failure of one of the relays, took it to John to pop a new one in and she's good as new!

I brought John my turntable out of my 1968 Console. Wow did he do wonders on it sounds and works like it’s brand new! I definitely recommend this guy!

John may be a great guy and all but HORRIBLE service! I dropped off an amplifier to his shop 7 months ago in February. I called about a month or so later to check the status of repair and was told he was working on it and would call me back. Never did. I called again about 2 months later and was told that he would call me back by Friday. Never did. I call again 2 months later and was told the part has some glue from manufacturer that was hard to remove but he would call me back to let me know if he could get it off to repair. Never did. This month I decide to go by to check on my equipment and was told it could not be repaired. So, you're telling me that it took 7 months to find out that you could not remove glue! This is the biggest rip off I've ever experienced! It's OK if it could not be repaired but be considerate of customers time as well and at least call back as you stated that you would.

There ain't many of these dudes left however if you don't mind the wait John McDowell will get it done

John is such a great resource for troubleshooting and repairing your electronics. He has decades of knowledge and experience and is very friendly as well as a true professional. He stays pretty busy and is an army of one so be patient when you drop off your item for him to diagnose and repair. Worth it in the end! This business is just fantastic. A dying breed. You walk into a couple of rooms filled with floor to ceiling gadgetry, wires, tools and old hi-fi’s. And in the middle of it all is John. You know you’re in safe hands. He is a master of all things hi-fi. It does not matter the age nor the condition of your equipment, he has the knowledge to run diagnostic tests to figure out what is wrong. AND what needs to be done to get it working again. His prices are also very reasonable.

I cannot recommend him enough. My only concern is that who is going to take on his mantle in years to come.
