John Yarbrough Linear Park reviews
11A biking/walking oasis away from the traffic of the city, even though the city surrounds you! This 6 mile, paved bike & walking path runs parallel to the canal, offering beautiful views all the way along the trail. The southern 3 miles of the trail has quite a lot of shade as the are are lots of trees, while the northern 3 miles is more exposed (and less scenic as it goes through a more industrial area). Wonderful birds to be seen and many more to be heard. Also turtles & iguanas basking in the sun on rocks and lovely wild flowers along the canal banks. The start of the trail on the southern end has restrooms, drinking water fountain, and a bike repair station. At intervals all along the trail are benches and shelters with picnic tables. The whole trail is wheelchair accessible. Although the trail crosses some roads, there are either pedestrian crossing lights (you press a button to activate), or at one major intersection you have to go about 100 yards east to cross at a traffic light, then return back to the trail.
This is a beautiful little park area. You can fish, jog, walk your dog, and ride your bike.
This is a nice safe location to ride bikes. It's flat and easy to navigate. It begins at 6 Mile Cypress and ends at Colonial. The ride one way is about 6 miles. It's never been crowded on my visits which is nice.
It's a nice paved trail to go skating, riding your bicycle, walking, or running with your family and pets. There are benches throughout the trail to take a break or just take in the scenery. It's not over crowded with people, but there are people on the trail.
This is a nicely maintained bike/walking trail that runs along side a canal. Saw some gators, turtless, and birds. Parking only on south end. Doing entire trail and return is about 12 miles.
Can be really good bass fishing. From gators to snakes you never know what you will run into.
Well-maintained straight path. Nice views with water on one side. Good for bike riding as well as walking
It's a nice open area to walk. There aren't any facilities around, but the path is wide and easy to traverse in a straight line.
Great place for walking, biking, running & roller skating. I bring my dogs here to walk, they can be a little skittish and the nature of the linear trail allows me to see what is ahead of us and behind in case I need to distract or move them. There are a few picnic shelters and trash cans along the way. Most people are very respectful and pick up after their dogs with the provided bags for waste. Lots of birds to see, possums, and a few very large iguanas. South end of the trail has more shade. Best parking is off Daniels.
Nice 8 mike bicycle ride from Lyons to the sawgrass. Some interesting wildlife too. Like burrowing owls!
Nice bike and walking trail. Totally flat; it's Florida. Do need to cross a few roads. Six miles long. Nice.
