August 2023. We rented a pontoon from Mad Beach Boat Rentals and came over to John's Pass Sand Bar. It was so amazing that we did it twice! It's definitely worth the money it cost to rent the pontoon which actually was very reasonable. Two pieces of advice. 1st - the second day we came we should have checked the tide. We came early in the day and it was during high tide and it made things a little more difficult for my 20 month granddaughter. The 2nd piece - go on a weekday. We went on Wednesday it wasn't crowded at all. Then we went on Saturday and it was super crowded.
Awesome experience to hangout at this sand bar, make new friends and meet many other enthusiasts, definitely coming back.
